Oh, and fyi, birth control does not equal abortion.

Some forms of birth control can at times act as an abortificiant, but there are many forms of birth control which, while still being immoral for preventing pregnancy, are in no way abortificiant. Please actually understand what is meant by words before you equate them.
This is true. However the point I made in terms of those Birth Control methods that are abortive still holds true.

Yes. Quite right. And it is this very mechanism that delineates what I am saying about the term Feminism. That all too often the term Radical is almost a sublininal knee jerk response when the term Feminsm is employed. And no, not just by me either.

So I ask. Is it not time for a change?
I don’t think there is a need personally. I’m ok calling myself a feminist. I love women and everything women stand for. We are all unique and suited for different things. Some of us are wives, mothers in the home; mothers out of the home; military personnel, business women, doctors, nurses, teachers, nuns, you name it. We have a huge value and I am a very proud woman and feminist.

LONG LIVE THE EXTRA “X” 👍

Bold lettering mine.

Interesting it is that you characterized my perpective on the said scriptures when in actuality, I , ahem,* never* stated a perspective on said Scriptures

Hmmmmmmm… Revealing *that *is.

See above post #151 for my reference to the scriptures.
I have no idea what you are talking about. Sorry.

I agree with you Deb. There is an anti-women vibe on CAF by a small number of radical misogynists claming to be “traditionalists”.

Thank God most men I know, don’t think this way.
I know, right? Thank goodness for that, and thank God none of the men in MY life think that way.

Yes, and Debora’s statements are on the mark IMO.

Also, some of the men here have made great points too.

If men and women simply respected eachother and married couples submitted to eachother, these would be non-issues.

IMO, radical feminists hate men. They are toxic women. They ruin it for us women who truly are feminists.
YEP!! 👍

Bold Lettering Mine:

Indeed?
Your proof of this is?
You’re asking me if I have proof that no posters on this thread are advocating abortion or have written that abortion is part of women’s rights? Ummm, no. :rotfl:

How am I supposed to prove the non existence of a post?
I see posters advocate Abortion.
Interesting. I have not.
Would you not say that Abortion is a Radical Feminist proposition? Ahmmmmmmmmmmmm!??
Um, yes, I HAVE said that supporting abortion is radical feminism.

Nimzovik, bro… dial it back man. I think the female posters have made it quite clear that they’re using the Susan B. Anthony model of feminism here. Not Sanger or Steinem or any of those clowns. You’ve seen a couple of posters note that radical feminist lunatics are destroying the label of “feminist” which was originally about treating women as the equals to men that they are. Simple things like voting rights, not support for abortion. Getting women beyond being treated like chattel or children, not making men subservient to women and demonizing masculinity.
Thank you. 👍

**Bold Lettering mine: **

Sorry. The wanton, rabid advocacy of abortion by the radical feminists, like NOW, makes it imperative for the Catholic to distance themselves IMHO. Especially so in view of the HHS mandate atrocity that Feminists advocate for. The line needs to be dawn.

Hmmmmmm… As for your Lawyer analogy, how about this: Does NOW, the National Oraganization for Women absolutely equate to Feminism? Is not NOW fundamentally an abortion advocacy group? Are not there feminists that have distanced themselves from such? So. Even Feminists see the need for a seperate title - yes?
Once again, JPII called himself a feminist. He didn’t come up with some alternative term for it.

Bold Lettering mine:

My my. You do get excited don’t you? No need to cast aspersions on my character, eh? I am sure you are erudite enough to express your well considered thoughts without such - yes?

That aside - Yes. You are quite right! (see the bold face type) That is** why** I am endeavoring to inspire people to make the distinction. Please. Read my previous posts.🙂
Actually, I think Bucket is extremely calm, cool, and logical. YOU however seem to be the one being overly passionate/emotional and illogical here. 🤷

I do appreciate the kind words but I must admit that there is more than a bit of snark in my posts. I like to think I’m still being generous to my fellow man even when I employ this tactic as it’s much better than grabbing someone by the virtual shoulders, shaking him and telling him he needs to read before he writes with ALL CAPS. Because no one reads ALL CAPS.

They already have!!! Thats the whole freaking point that so many posters on this thread are trying to make clear to you because you seem to try and lump all feminists together in the same bucket. So you are hardly saying anything new or exciting by saying that the Catholic feminism is incompatible with radical feminism, or that Catholics should not ascribe to radical feminism but embrace feminism as expressed by the teachings of the Church. I’m sorry to break it to you, but most people here are already well aware of this. After all, the only person on this thread that has espoused any ideas related to a feminism that is contrary to the Church is, surprise surprise, not a Catholic. You are not really changing people’s minds by your inflammatory attitude, you are just making people feel less like listening to anything that have to say.
Right on.

👍
