Where are the Bible verses to back up baby sprinkling?

The scripture you quote is very clear when it says I must REPENT AND BE BAPTISED. How then can an infant repent? The second quote says to RISE and be baptised. How can an infant do that? When I read this it is clear that the individual must demonstrate in a visible way their desire to be baptised. The act of repenting, the act of rising are acts of faith demonstrating one’s desire to be baptised.NLM

An infant can repent from Original Sin. We are all born with it. As to the rest, Roman Catholic’s take responsiblity for all that for the baby until the baby is old enough to do so, which he/she does - in their Confirmation at age 12-14. At that time, he/she is “baptised in the Holy Spirit”.

Until a child is old enough to care for him/herself, the adults are responsible for helping them make those decisions. Surely, a baby would not say, “hey, I need that hep B series of vaccines, I’ll take some of those” and just as we provide for our children’s physiological and emotional needs, we must provide their spiritual needs. Baptism starts laying the stones for a solid foundation, without which, a child is lost and grows to be confused. When older, they rise up and say, “I’m a Catholic adult now” by the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The United Pentecostals I think are the largest Pentecostal denomination. They go by other names like “Jesus only, Jesus’ name, Apostolic”. They baptise in “Jesus name Aymen” instead of the Father, Son. and Holy Spirit. They are modalists and do not believe in the Holy Trinity, The beleive that Jesus is God and the Father and Holy Spirit are different modes of Jesus. This a very important difference between the UPC and the rest of orthodox Christianity and matters a great deal. Names mean a great deal as well.

The infallible Word of God is Jesus (see the first chapter of John). The bible is the word of God, but not the Word. I believe in both the written word, and the verbal non written word, Holy Tradition. I do not believe in things that someone just “found” in the bible five minutes ago. If things like “gettin saved, asking Jesus in your heart to be your personal Saviour, and making an artificial between ‘water’ baptism that is immeterial to salvation and ‘spiritual’ baptism which is what counts”. Were not in the bible and taught from the beggining they are false. Like you said yourself Jesus is the same yesterday. today and forever.

I was born and raised in a fundamental denomination, that actually called the bible “God”, and everything not speciffifically ordered to be done in the bible was completely forbidden.
Even things like musical instruments in church, candles, and calling the pastor “reverend” were forbidded even the word pastor itself was off limits.

I got very tired of being in a large sect that claimed to be the only Christians (even though they never existed before 1906) and worshipped the bible, so I left and became a Catholic Christian and worshipped God.

The Catholic church has existed since 33AD and has always taught the same thing. We were not invented in the 19th and 20th centuries by people who “found” things in the bible five minutes ago.

The One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church just like her Lord is the same from the beggining, today, and unto the ages of ages,

That would not be any kind of pentecostal churchI ever heard of. They believe in the whole Word of God…the Trinity, In the church that I was "saved " at was the Assembly of God, and to be very honest I think you have the pentecostal church very confused with others. I would not walk in the door of a church that you discribed…Don’t blame you for leaving. No the Catholic church has not been the same because of some of the Popes that have been in. Yes the CC has made changes and will make more. I know everyone on her almost, disagrees with me, and that is OK…Believe what you want, and I will believe the truth, OK…at least my truth. The truth that I have found in the Word of God. I question what is preached and taught since I left the CC, and if it does not sound right, I go to the Bible. Its’s that simple. Good. Then you should be able to understand infant baptism. The infant needs to do nothing at all to receive the free gift of God’s grace.

Circumscision was done 8 days after the baby boy was born…Baptism was not…Christ was taken to the temple and circumscised, beauce that was the law…but was not baptised untill John the babtised, baptised Him. One was the old law and one was choice…thats what Paul was talking about.

That is a bold face lie. The early church baptized infants. As for Christ you better find out the real reason He was baptized by John. The scriptures say John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. So please tell us what sin did Jesus commit that He had to repent for. Your sola scriptura is failing you miserably. One more thing, circumcision was the entry rite into Judaism. Baptism is the entry rite into the Body of Christ. And for that reason is given to infants so that they too may share in the grace of God. This is how the early church saw it and wrote of it. For instance John Chrysostom wrote:

“You see how many are the benefits of baptism, and some think its heavenly grace consists only in the remission of sins, but we have enumerated ten honors [it bestows]! For this reason we baptize even infants, though they are not defiled by [personal] sins, so that there may be given to them holiness, righteousness, adoption, inheritance, brotherhood with Christ, and that they may be his [Christ’s] members” (Baptismal Catecheses in Augustine, Against Julian 1:6:21 [A.D. 388]).

Now you show me one person in the first 1,000 years of church history that taught adult baptism only.

Their official name is the United Pentecostal Church International [UPCI]. They claim the same early history as the AOG and other so called pentecostal denominations

The local diocese in my area looked into it and said that he is Catholic and he didn’t practice the faith at all during the time I knew him.

In order to be released from the laws of the Church, you actually have to make a formal defection in writing to your Bishop - you can’t just stop showing up for Mass.

Actually they are called Pentecostal. There are a number of different flavors of Pentecostalism. AOG is simply one of them, Holiness Pentecostals are another.
