Would you care to elaborate?

What are the words used here and what language was Jesus speaking in?

Finally - how does this relate to the Greek transliteration Paul uses in his letters when he speaks about Peter?

I eagerly await your expert liguistic response. šŸ‘
Are you being sarcastic or lieing. Either way, this post of yours doesn’t raise itself to the level of ā€˜please resond’.

How is that relevant, when the original is in Aramaic?

It it’s inspired by the Holy Spirit, it’s relevant to Him. Could be the Holy Spirit wanted to make sure no one misunderstood by using two different Greek words.

I’d guess the Holy Spirit knew Jesus wasn’t going to build His church on a person but on the Truth of Who Jesus is, thus on Jesus.

Your post is very telling of the chaos and constant splintering of the tens of thousands of Protestant sects.

Many of your sentences thoughts begin with I think or I don’t think/believe.

It doesn’t matter what Rev Kevin thinks or believes about anything - the TRUTH is all that matters.
You see - you DO need to belong to his ONE Body.
We ALL DO need to worship the same way because we are, as Paul says, "… one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all" (Eph. 4:4-6).

Paul goes on to say:
1 Cor. 11:2

"I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you".

2 Thess. 2:15
"So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us."

2 Tim. 12:14
***"***Take as your norm the sound words that you heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Guard this rich trust with the help of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us."

**Finally **- at the Last Supper, Jesus fervently prayed to his Father in heaven:
***ā€œI pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, ***so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved meā€ (John 17:20-23).

**In short - God DOES **care about how we worship and DOES want us to worship alike.
I think that it’s very refreshing that someone says, ā€˜I think’ and ā€˜I believe’ instead of ramming their ā€˜truth’ down the throats of others. You try to ram.

Hi Dokimas! šŸ™‚ I don’t think elvisman ever tries to ram truth down your throats. If using bold colors is ā€œrammingā€ then we must ask the moderators to take away our color privileges! šŸ‘

It’s not the colors.

It’s not the colors.
Then I feel inclined to ask really what it is? He is only being a defender of the Faith…and when you are being heard, you know you are getting through!

**Catholics donā€˜t **bicker about who is the oldest or the first or the only.
We KNOW we are and we defend that truth against all attacks. And then the back and forth, bickering, anong the Catholics and Protestants. You say your is the one and only true church and we say something eles. Thats the bickering I’m talking about. Remind everyone of these things and command them in God’s name to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are usless, and they can ruin those who hear them.

Again** – you’re wrong** if you think it doesn’t matter about whether we worship the same way – as Jesus intended it (1 Cor. 11:2, 2 Thess. 2:15, 2 Tim. 12:14, John 17:20-23).

Matt. 7:22-23
ā€œMany will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy
in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’
Then I will declare to them solemnly, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.ā€™ā€

No - I’m not being sarcastic - nor am I lying.
I want to hear what you have to say on the subject.

It’s easy to respond to a post with a contray point and run.
It’s quite another to answer a challenge from somebody who wants to read your explanation for what you said.

Like I said before - we should think and believe - as long as it’s not contrary to the Word of God. The Church was left in charge - the Supreme Authority on earth (Matt. 16:15-19, 18:15-58, John 16:12-15, 20:21-23).

This authority was not left to the individual or the slinter of a splinter of a splinter some 1500-2000 years later.

There is only ONE truth and ONE authority, which is the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Tim. 3:15).

Putting everything aside, may I ask that you pray for my former wife who has liver cancer.
I was informed a little while ago that she went to the hospital in severe pain. She is a God loving woman and a good harted lady. Please pray for her. Her name is Silvia. Thank you.

You got it.
Praying right now, brother.

The Church is Catholic.

Acts 9:31

Throughout all is translated greek into Ekklesia, Katholos or universal or the Catholic Church. All translate into the same meaning:D

Think I covered it all!šŸ‘
Rinnie, why did it not translate to Catholic in English? If you cut and style men’s hair I could drive the 1200 miles to PA to give you more time. But I’m certain I’d get a nice haircut. 😃

Oh, not it’s not only what we believe.
Now you’re dabbling in moral relativism.

***Why ***do you accept the Church’s authority? Do you accept it because you were taught to or because it is the pillar and foundation of truth and God’s supreme authority on earth?

**Do you believe that Protestants – or anybody else, for that matter – can also have the ***fullness of truth? If you do – you’re completely confused ***about what truth is. Every group cannot have the truth because there is only one truth.

It is not true because you or I believe it – we believe it because it’s true**.**
Elvis, were you taught what to believe when catechized? Jesus tells us He is the truth (Jn 14:6) so yes we can all have Jesus. How is that completely confused? 🤷

We all believe that there is one God. We all believe in the Holy Spirit. We all believe Jesus is the Son of God sent here to save us from out sins and to give us eternal life. What does it matter if one worships God one way and another worships him another way, the point is that we are worshiping him as the one and only God. We bicker and bicker about who is the true Chruch, who has been around the longest, etc. but we are missing one thing, we all are children of God and to bicker among each other over silly things don’t do any of us any good and I’m sure God is not happy with our actions.
:tiphat:

I think that it’s very refreshing that someone says, ā€˜I think’ and ā€˜I believe’
šŸ‘ not only refreshing but if they’re honest with themselves it’s all they can truly say

What part of the scripture do you feel I took out of context. This is the teaching of my Church.
You didn’t give each verse in context of the verses surrounding them.

When you do put the verses in context they don’t support your claim.

Above each selection I posted the jist of the Scripture-

Celebrating diversity:, Our one leader is Jesus alone, unity in our faith in Jesus:, We must accept the diversity of our fellow believers in Christ:, Anyone saying that all Christians are not in the one body of Christ:

Putting everything aside, may I ask that you pray for my former wife who has liver cancer.

First you tell me I took scripture out of context then you agree with me??

Whats it gonna be?
I agree with this! —>nor can the one body of the Church through the **division of its structure **be divided into separate pieces

Where Christian see unity in the one faith of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and diversity in celebrating that faith, Catholics simply see division and confusion.

rev kevin-

Praying for physical, mental and spiritual health and strength for you and your family.
