Not exactly…as Scott points out in jus sanguinis law as it existed in 1961.
How does one lose citizenship from an alleged adoption?
That question has long since been answered. A person born in the US is a natural born citizen regardless of the citizenship of the parent. Obama is also not the first president to have a foreign parent - -Woodrow Wilson, Herbert Hoover, Chester Arthur and probably some others would have been ineligible by that standard.“The question that the court must decide is whether a person governed by the laws of Great Britain at the time of their birth could be considered a natural “born citizen” of the United States as required by Article 2 Section 1 Clause 5 of the United States Constitution.”

That is not entirely true.
For persons born between December 24, 1952 and November 14, 1986, a person is a U.S. citizen if all of the following are true (except if born out-of-wedlock):
*]The person’s parents were married at the time of birth
*]One of the person’s parents was a U.S. citizen when the person was born
*]The citizen parent lived at least ten years in the United States before the child’s birth;
*]A minimum of 5 of these 10 years in the United States were after the citizen parent’s 14th birthday.
Stanley Ann Dunham, was born on Novermber 29, 1942. Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961. That means that his mother was only 18 at the time of his birth. IF Obama had been born outside of the United States, she would not have met requirement # 4 of the jus sanguinis law regarding citizenship conference to those born outside of the US to parents who are American citizens. Since this is now a moot point, I thought I would illuminate the finer pints of* jus sanguinis* law as it existed in 1961.
This is what I thought as well. However, Mr. LaFrance has a more nuanced grasp of the law. I just didn’t quite understand from his post whether he was saying that the Presidents citizenship was still in doubt or not.That question has long since been answered. Nope, I was just articulating what the statutory requirements of jus sanguinis citizenship were in 1961.This is what I thought as well. However, Mr. LaFrance has a more nuanced grasp of the law. So, in deference to the superiority of your legal understanding versus mine, are there still legitimate outstanding issues that bring in to questions Mr. Obama’s citizenship? If so what would they be in your opinion.Nope, I was just articulating what the statutory requirements of jus sanguinis citizenship were in 1961.
Its a product of the OCR in the scanner used on the document.Folks the internet is abuzz that the Birth Certificate, when opened in Adobe Illustrator, shows up as a combination of some 5 layers. Some people suggest this is an artifact with no significance, others suggest it’s an electronically manipulated and edited forgery, put together from bits and pieces.
Any image editing specialists here?
I have used Adobe Photoshop and have a little bit of knowledge about Adobe Illustrator. That information is false. You can not detect how many layers there are in an image unless it’s saved as Adobe’s file (generally .psd). Even if the image was “forged”, if the alleged forger saved it in a common file format (such as .jpeg or .bmp), it would be what we call “merged”, and there will be no way of detecting how many layers there are in the document.Folks the internet is abuzz that the Birth Certificate, when opened in Adobe Illustrator, shows up as a combination of some 5 layers. Well, at least the issue will go away for anyone I would ever consider listening to or reading.Just like the “Bush lied and people died” crowd went away when the 9-11 commission released its report?

Not applied to this board. And I meant the above statement with all charity.Well, at least the issue will go away for anyone I would ever consider listening to or reading.
As someone already said its the OCR. When I open my official college transcripts it has “layers” too and I know it wasn’t doctored.Folks the internet is abuzz that the Birth Certificate, when opened in Adobe Illustrator, shows up as a combination of some 5 layers. Don’t know much about image editing, but one of my childhood teachers used to say: ‘a drowning man will clutch at a straw’ - if that helps any.Folks the internet is abuzz that the Birth Certificate, when opened in Adobe Illustrator, shows up as a combination of some 5 layers. Would it be fair to say that you are questioning the authenticity of the document?assets.democrats.org/images/birth_certificate/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf
It looks like its a transparency over a crosspatch background. Also notice the lack of wear and tear one would expect of a document of 40+ years.
It’s a scan printed on fancy paper. I have gotten this sort of document in pursuing genealogy. The orginal form was just plain-jane block form, the copy has been done on special paper. It’s pretty common.assets.democrats.org/images/birth_certificate/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf
