Which Church is the “truest”?

None.

The original message of Christ was so perverted in the first few hundred years that the Humble Galilean preaching social justice and a universal faith was converted into a War Chief approving of crusades.

And, of course, vast majority of these Protestant groups haven’t done any better to perfect that message.
Enlighten me.
What then is the original message of Christ?

Do you see the new testament as inspired, even?

I believe that it is the Roman Catholic Church.

What are your thoughts? Please support your opinions with facts. I will provide information, which all goes to support the fact that the Roman Catholic Church is the true Church, founded by Jesus Christ and the Church that God intended for man…

Peace 🙂

no doubt. never questioned it and never will! CATHOLIC is the only church just like religion. GOD bless & prayers to all!

They protest many biblical realities, like Anointing of the Sick forgives sins. In fact, they would love to throw out the Epistle of St. James…
I would?

Please people stop generalizing about protestants, cause honestly, not all of us hate you, not all of us dis-respect you, I haven’t in anyway on here, if I have please tell me where.

Well said, Christian Knight. It seems some Catholics love to generalize what we Protestants believe and practice. We do believe in the Epistle of James, we do annoit the sick, etc. Many Catholics who bash us have never stepped into a Protestant church yet they claim to know what we believe. Very sad.

Hello** t68ware**,

Thank you for your post,

It is not that we “love” to generalize; we need to generalize, because there exists, literally thousands of different Protestant, non-Catholic Christian denominations. It is not the Catholic Church’s fault that Protestants broke from each other, divided and then subdivided, over and over and over and so on, 36,000 plus times….The need to “generalize” was caused by the confusion and many different beliefs and denominations created by Protestants themselves, not by Catholics, sorry.

Peace 🙂

Thank you for your response to my thought. The post you are responding to was an answer to a poster who said we Protestants don’t believe in annointing the sick and we don’t believe in the Epistle of James. Those are generalizations, and that is what I was responding to. If Catholics or Protestants are going to comment on one another’s beliefs, then one should have the facts before doing so. We Protestants do believe in annointing the sick and we do believe the Epistle of James should remain in the Canon of Scripture. Things like this make it difficult for those of differing opinion to communicate effectively.

I believe in Judeo-Christian salvation history. Jews and Christians have understood God the best, down through the centuries, and offer that keen understanding to all humanity, if it will listen. Within the Christian community, Catholicism possesses the most accurate understanding of God. 👍

“Upon this rock” I will build my church.

Call the rock Peter (I do), call the rock Peter’s confession of faith (I do), call the rock Jesus (I do). . .that’s the beauty of Catholicism, we realize that the Bible’s words are so rich, deep and nuanced that they can (and do) mean more than just 'one thing".

The important thing is that Jesus Himself insisted and is recorded in Scripture as saying that He will 'build His Church." So He mpst certainly did do so. The Catholic Church can trace itself right back to the apostles. There was no ‘other’ church that was around but got either ‘squashed’, or ‘went into hiding’. The Catholics (and the Orthodox, who were ‘part’ of the ‘entire’ Catholic Church equally until 1054, so must be considered at least until then as "one holy catholic and apostolic church) are the ‘church’ Jesus established. No ifs, ands, or buts.

It always makes me ‘wonder’ that people ‘ignore’ the Orthodox when they vehemently deny ‘the papist Romans’ as being the Church. You would think that while they scream, “No papal supremacy” they would remember, “oops, why there is that ‘eastern’ rite of the Church over in Constantinople, apostolic succession, etc. Oh, and in 1054 they refused the pope too. Sign me up!”. . .

But. . .they don’t. If they deny the Pope, and the ‘abuses’ of celibate clergy. . . why on EARTH don’t they flock to the Orthodox?

So it isn’t ‘just’ the Pope, and the clergy. It is ‘man-made’ doctrine and anti-Catholicism (Roman) that fuels the sad division of Protestantism. . .otherwise they would be Orthodox Christians.
Very good point! Thought it should be echoed!

And it is not our fault that people decided to break away either, your point?

I have never broken away form a church, I have went to different churches, but I never started one or joined one other than the one I was born into.

So why stay in other people’s mistakes if you know better now? 🙂

Perhaps you can do that now. “Break away” from your “church” so that you can join the ONE True Church that Jesus Christ established to be HIS Own Church. We would love to have you here with us. 🙂

…maybe cause I am not allowed to go to a mass or rcia…

Well, if I seen more respect for others, I’d join, but even now I cannot join, I will have to wait till I am 18.

It is not the Catholic Church’s fault that Protestants broke from each other,
It was the RCC’s abuses over indulgences and their institutional control over salvation that resulted in the original split.

The RCC does bare some responsibility for the original split.

You are very correct in your statement. It would be nice if Catholics and Protestants had knowledge of each others churches before we comment on each other.
It is unfortunate but both don’t. I know about from Ex-Protestants turn Catholic… people like Jimmy Akin, Tim Staples, …

Oh, I see. You’re not of age yet. That’s understandable. I have a niece who is 17. Her mother is Protestant who left the Church 17 years ago. My niece was Baptized Catholic but soon after that her mother (my sister) left the Church. I wish my niece could come into the Catholic Church right now but she would have to wait if she even wants to come.

You are in my prayers. I would like to apologize to you for all the disrespect you have felt from Catholics. I will also say a prayer for them because Jesus told us to pray for those who sin against us and also to forgive them. So I hope you will forgive us. ❤️ Please keep the Catholic Church in mind when you get older. We would love to have you here. :hug1:
