I, too, found this a VERY poor idea on the part of The White House. This display is “spiking the football” right into the face of Christians who hold valid and deeply held and committed to beliefs regarding this issue. It is poking a finger into the eye of Americans who disagree with the SCOTUS decision and is akin to taunting. There is no attempt to unify a country. Quite the opposite. This added bit of “celebrating” was not needed–there were MANY other avenues for that.

True to form for Obama.This is reflective of how he has always responded to issues.He is very petty,small minded.Not presidential in any way shape or form.

I don’t know what you mean by that- that flying the Confederate flag is the same as flying the U.S. flag upside down. The Confederate flag means nothing to me. I honor the American flag. According to the Flag code, the flag should only be displayed upside down “when there is extreme danger to life or property.” The Supreme Court decisions on life issues (Roe v. Wade, Terry Schiavo decision, and assisted suicide), the recent decision on marriage, and the decisions interfering with the rights of business owners and workers in health care forcing them to do things that go against their beliefs- these are signs distress. What we have is an increasing erosion of the moral fiber of this country.

Some think that the Confederate Flag is only sign of rebellion. If you rebel against the constitution of America, It might be the right flag for you.

I really wish someone would sell pro-traditional- marriage flags. Here in Utah the display would be absolutely overwhelming!

And not the pink and lavender one with the white cross in the middle. Something really beautiful. Can we fly the Vatican flag outside of our homes?

You need to stop with your suggestions of what might be right for me. I uphold the constitution of the United States of America. I reject misinterpretations of the constitution.

Thanks for posting this. You are much more patient than I. I thought everyone knew what turned the Democratic party upside down. I realize I was wrong. The Dixiecrats turned into the new Republicans after the Civil Rights Act and the Voters Act of 1964. I wonder why?

Don’t pin the acts of lynching done by Democrats and the assassination of Dr. King, shot by a Democrat, on anyone else.

Also, though it may not bother Democrats,. African Americans are aborted 5 times what a white child is and abortion is a major platform of the Democrat party. They really haven’t changed.

Georgia only went Republican in 2004, Louisiana after that. Even if there was some sort of change, it was some time after the civil rights era. Bull Connor, George Wallace, all Democrats.

So you are saying pro-slavery rulings out of the Supreme Court were proper. Is that what you are saying?
 
In earlier years, there were different kinds of Democrats. The Southern Democrats, or “Dixiecrats,” were very conservative compared to the Northern Democrats, who were considerably more liberal. There was also a group of moderate or centrist Democrats. Today the Democratic Party is more homogeneous, with only minor differences between moderate-centrist Democrats (who are very few in number) and liberal-leftist Democrats. There are virtually no conservative Democrats left. A similar, mirror-image situation seems to exist within the Republican Party, which has hardly any liberal or moderate Republicans left and consists mainly of conservative-right wing Republicans. No wonder there is so little bipartisan legislation in recent times.

But FDR could have done something about civil rights but didn’t and some people say he even helped the bad side in ways. Truman, believe it or not, in his younger years did pay dues to the Klan one time at least but it seems to have been a hollow gesture.

James Earl Ray, George Wallace, Bull Connor were all Democrats. Probably a number I don’t know about like the former senator of Arkansas, Fulbright maybe. I should have separated the paragraph.
