The hypocrisy is mind boggling. What is scary is that I don’t think the president could be this divisive on accident. I believe it is his intention.

I am no fan of Obama and am completely against his plans for our country. He does not seem to miss an opportunity to disappoint, divide and alarm.

James Earl Ray, George Wallace, Bull Connor were all Democrats. Probably a number I don’t know about like the former senator of Arkansas, Fulbright maybe. I should have separated the paragraph.
pardon my ignorance, but is the new Republican party for integration? Are they for equal justice for all? Maybe I made a mistake in thinking who the Dixiecrats were and who they have become. I stand corrected if I am wrong.

I’m thinking about flying our flag upside down this July 4th.
I’m with you. This Fourth I’m not proud to be an American… We’re slowly turning into a
totiltarian state! However we know who will win. Our country may collapse but Mary will crush the head of the serpent. This is a Satan inspired thing. He hates humans, families and children. Justice Kennedy and Sottomayer Catholics in name only, will have much to answer for. They’ve sold their souls to appeal to a minority of people and to enhance their popularity.

Amen!👍

But FDR could have done something about civil rights but didn’t and some people say he even helped the bad side in ways. Truman, believe it or not, in his younger years did pay dues to the Klan one time at least but it seems to have been a hollow gesture.
While FDR had a good relationship with Jews for the most part, it seems that Eleanor was more sensitive to the plight of African Americans than her husband. With regard to Truman, although he became a staunch supporter of Israel and was responsible for integrating the military, his early letters reveal some strong antisemitism, so I would believe his paying dues to the Klan. People can change and grow, and are often complicated in their ideas and behavior.

For those who have no problem with this: Would you have no problem with a president choosing to fly the Stars and Bars over the White House on Confederate Memorial Day? Or the Army of Northern Virginia flag on Gen. Lee’s birthday? After all, there are US citizens who agree with the ideals behind those flags.

Totally unnecessary on behalf of the White House. Talk about rubbing it in. The sad thing is that I still believe that if this was voted on by referendum, SSM would be outlawed in the United States.

The concept of protecting the minority does NOT mean minority rules. It’s meant to keep the minority from being persecuted. But today, that’s what liberals want… Rule by the minority.

The 14th Amendment was NEVER written for this. If the authors knew it would be used this way, they would have written it differently (or not passes it).

Several of the American Founding Fathers have said that our American form of government will always work IF we remain a nation based on Christian ideals. The root of the Constitution was ALWAYS meant to be viewed from the point of view of Christian values and ideals.

By allowing agnostic and atheist attorneys to warp the minds of God fearing attorneys (first the non-Christians and then the Christian ones) the devil has won a major battle.

Personally, I always believed that biggest threat to our society wasn’t the atheist, but actually the Cafeteria Catholic (and liberal Christian) and the agnostic/atheist Jew. The Supreme Court has confirmed my fears. I guarantee that all 5 of them believe that fornication isn’t sinful (obviously they don’t believe that sodomy is sinful).

😦

👍 Important concepts, this is what I know John Adams wrote about. That without obedience to God, the Constitution was worthless, one of the Founders said something like this.

How is this divisive. The majority of young REPUBLICANS approve of SSM.

The fight is over.

You keep saying that. Majority vote doesn’t determine the truth.

(Plato said democracy was the worst government second only to tyranny. I tend to agree with him…)

Hate to break it to ya bro, but you’re right about (some) of the founding fathers wanting a christian nation. The majority of those HATED CATHOLICS. And cringed at the idea of Catholic Schools indoctrinating kids and thwarting the whole democratic system.

No it doen’t. Every person gets to define their own truth. You choose to the definitions of a church, others do not.

All the same, that has little to do with the fact they wrote the Constitution for a God-believing Christian nation, this is only attacking the messenger and not the message.

And of course, one of the signers of the Constitution was a Catholic.

Hmmn, bringing bigotry up, not a persuasive argument.

When Same Sex Marriage was voted on by the Public I believe over 20 or 30 times, people only voted for it 2 times.

We have this imposed on us only by courts and not public opinion.

That youth are for it, sure didn’t pan out in those votes.

Oh that’s nothing new. However, we would all be united in this matter.

The Mormons used to hate the Catholics too, but have come to respect our stance on the big issues.

Everyone gets to define their own truth? About everything?

Can a person’s definition of what’s true for them ever be wrong?

What new thing? Isn’t the Mayor of Houston gay? Wasn’t she elected twice? Texas is no different than any other state. Please.
Did you mean the new thing as another poster put it, being “shoved down our throats” in states like Texas? That “new thing” is equality, liberty and justice for all.

Even the agnostic Founding Fathers like Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson wanted a Christian nation. They believed that Faith was good for society, even if individually they didn’t follow or believe.

As for hatting Catholics, that is irrelevant. In the area of values and morals, all Protestant denominations back then believed in the same morals as the Catholic Church did and still does.

Additionally, MANY of the founding fathers attended at least one Mass at Olde St Joseph’s Church or Olde St Mary’s in Philadelphia. Philadelphia (while Quaker) was one of the only places where Catholics could worship without persecution before founding of the United States. So many of the founding fathers attended at least one mass out of curiosity or out of respect for some well known Catholics like Commodore Barry

Lol! I love how people are expecting the “BUt its tax payers monies going to THIS!!” to actually work. Did you not hear everyone say the same thing about the confederate flag being flown over a state building?!

Look gay people serve in military and fight and die for our freedom. I am ok with the white house being a rainbow for an evening.
So much fuss over an evening and one poster even said it’s a ruling that will effect only around 0.8% of the global population.
