I’m playing through A Link to the Past right now, and it’s a bit of a penance.LOVE THEM. Big gamer here. Mostly obsessed with the Legend of Zelda![]()

Exactly. I mean, how was I supposed to have known that I was supposed to throw magic dust on a chicken in order to find out about that magic flying duck without looking at a walkthrough?Heresy!
Well, I guess it is Lent, so it’s a good time for penance.![]()

I would start playing Xillia 2. Shockingly, Xillia 2 was leagues ahead of its predecessor in terms of storyline and gameplay. I remember not really being impressed at all with the first Xillia (felt like a rehash of Vesperia which, although the gameplay was a lot of fun, had an uninteresting storyline IMO) but I think I would say that Xillia 2 is my second favorite game in the series, behind Tales of the Abyss. It’s weird how that worked out since Tales sequels tend to be terrible.I literally only have the final boss fight before I technically complete my first playthrough of Tales of Xillia. Having spent so long on it because of school, work, vacation, etc., I’d like to play another JRPG before trying a New Game+ or Xillia 2, but I’m having trouble figuring out which of the 8 or 9 unplayed JRPGs I own I should make a go at next.
This could take some time. Such an important decision to make.
Are you talking about the bird that flies you places when you play the flute? I don’t remember having to use the magic powder to free the bird, but it’s been four or five years since I last played the game. I do remember having to throw magic powder on some red gemstone to get the magic meter upgrade.Exactly. Speaking of tricky Zelda puzzles, please tell me I’m not the only one that spent nearly an hour in a certain room in the Fire Sanctuary in Skyward Sword because I didn’t know I could stab the fruit. I only figured that out by wildly swinging the Wiimote in frustration and happened to notice that one of the fruits flung forward a bit, so I investigated the phenomenon more closely and eventually figured that out.
I guess I’ve got something to check out every so often.Just launched a new site dedicated to specifically to reviewing video games.
There’s always at least one dungeon like that in every Zelda game. Are you looking forward to the new Wii U Zelda?Yeah, that took me longer than it should have to figure out, too. I’m not sure it took an hour, but my measurement of time when playing Zelda is a bit skewed.

I’ve been looking forward to the new Zelda ever since the Wii U came out. There’s always at least one dungeon like that in every Zelda game. Are you looking forward to the new Wii U Zelda?Should be really good. Nintendo seems to have a couple of good games on the way. I am personally looking forward to Star Fox Zero at the end of April.
Is this really the 30 year anniversary already? I guess it makes sense, since Skyward Sword was an anniversary game I think. They seem to release on 5 year cycles. Wii U Zelda in 2016, Skyward Sword in 2011, Twilight Princess in 2006.I’ve been looking forward to the new Zelda ever since the Wii U came out.It looks to be immense. I’m sure I’ll get whatever special 30th anniversary collector’s edition they release.
Zelda is my weak spot when it comes to spending money on video games.
I’m still undecided on whether I’ll pick up Star Fox Zero. I loved the original Star Fox and Star Fox 64 from back in the day, but it’s been awhile since I’ve played a Star Fox game. I do tend to get most every Nintendo-made game that hits the home consoles, though.Except for Metroid. I never got into Metroid.
Right now, I’m still playing a lot of Splatoon. That game is a great deal of fun. There’s just something about flicking paint at people with a giant roller…![]()
