I’m back from my college hiatus!

I’ve been starting to play Civilization 6 since I got my hands on it last week, and it has kept me all night. Amazing game. 😃 The AI has problems since it’s just a new release, but that would be easily fixed with a patch.

By the way, I’ve stumbled upon something related to Rise of the Tomb Raider, the new Lara Croft game. It’s about the enemies of Lara in the game, and it got me intrigued and worried at the same time…

Spoilers beware though:
tombraider.wikia.com/wiki/Trinity

If you want to immediately jump to their description (again, spoiler warning):
The Order of Trinity is a mysterious and ancient organization that Lara Croft has come into conflict with. They seek to acquire mythical relics of supernatural power, and to eradicate all traces of any civilizations that once made use of those relics, viewing them as blasphemers and heretics. Trinity is known to have existed at least as early as 978 AD, and may be even older. It was associated with the Roman Catholic Church, as one of its senior leaders at the time was also a Catholic Bishop. This association appears to have persisted into the modern day; a mercenary hired by Trinity for the Kitezh operation was able to trace the source of the organization’s funding directly to the Vatican.

That means I might consider not getting the game though. I was really looking forward to going deep into the story and mechanics of it, since it involves medieval Russia, Eastern Christianity and ancient language deciphering. But with this… I guess it’s best that I’m spoiled by it…

Had lot of fun with Mirror’s Edge lately. I’ve also slowly been making my way through Star Wars: KOTOR since I started it this summer.

Playing Cities: Skylines. A city planning simulation (like simcity) where you have to plan the cities’ streets so that traffic doesn’t get
backed up, services will need to upgraded to bigger better buildings, as well as setting up individual districts with different policies such as; boosting education in the residential district; a recycling policy Downtown; parks & recreation boost in the industrial area.
The game is as frustrating as it is fun. it also counts citizen DEATH as a feature, of which you’ll need cemeteries (which have limited capacity) or crematoriums (which have unlimited capacity)

But I digress, It’s a really fun game!

I really wanna play Skyrim: remastered for the PS4. I also beat Battlefield 1. It’s good but too short. It’s got about 5-10 hours of gameplay in it.

If you’re looking for a fun game that doesn’t take itself too seriously (and want about 3-4 hours of play), No Time To Explain (remastered) is on sale on Steam.

I just played Skyrim: Special Edition for a few Hours. It’s the same game as the regular one, but has major face-lift. Fire looks extra detailed, the grass is greener, the textures are better and characters/objects are slightly more detailed. The environment and environmental effects are especially detailed. Ferns, mushrooms and cloud topped mountains -oh my!**

So I bought Skyrim: Remastered and it’s alright. Fantasy is not my cup of tea so it’s harder to get into compared to Fallout. It does look better graphically than the PS3 version. One of dislikes of the game is that the map is too small and everything is very close together compared to the Fallout series where there’s spatial distance when trekking across the map. I do like that my PS4 doesn’t have to go into overdrive when playing this game. It runs just as quiet as when I first got it. I hear that Bethesda may remaster Fallout 3 so that’s something to look forward to but I really want to play a remastered Fallout: New Vegas.

Been playing Gears of War 4 a lot on Xbox One. If anyone wants, message and I can send you my gamertag if you like playing online.

Played 'Grand Theft Auto 4 ’ to stress test my new video card. Same thing with Saint’s row 3 (which is a more ridiculous and cartoony parody of Grand Theft Auto).
I would highly recommend those with attention to detail ‘Cities Skylines’. If you have elements of strategy as well as city road planning (and budgeting). I’ve also played tropics 4 recently and it’s a wonderful game for those who like to play with economics and politics in mind.
Example: your island must make a profit in order to run. You also need to make sure the islands political factions are appraised they start a civil war or overthrow you. It’s a very fun game!

I’m about two hours into Tropical Freeze and I’m loving it. 😃
Love that Donkey Kong. 🙂 My only complaint is that the newer Donkey Kong Country games don’t have all the animal friends of the old trilogy. Those were always some of my favorite parts.

Received Gears of War 4 and Dishonored 2 and have been playing those. Also have been replaying Lost Odyssey.

Played Tropico 4: modern times; it’s a great political/economy simulation with a steep learning curve. Probably one of the few strategy games that I like.

The new Zelda trailer and Splatoon 2 have made the Nintendo Switch a must buy for me. I’m so excited! 😃

Downloaded a Teutonic/Knights Templar/etc. Armor/Weapon Mod (pc) for Skyrim. Suddenly, Skyrim got a whole lot better! Deus Vult!

Also playing ‘Call of Duty: black ops’ 1 & 2. The violence isn’t my cup of tea, but I like the quasi-historical settings. ‘Black Ops’ 1 takes place in the middle of the Cold War and ‘Black Ops II’ takes place between the late 80’s and 2025 (the switch between the past and future is “jarring” to say the least).

👍 More than any other video game franchise, Zelda is the one that encourages me to open my wallet. :o

I think the Switch looks pretty neat. It does seem like the culmination of all of Nintendo’s previous consoles. I’m still deciding whether I should get one sooner or wait until they pull the plug on the online portion of Splatoon 1. I’ve played that game more than any other Wii U games. There’s just something about rolling over people with a giant, brightly-colored paint roller. 😛 It would be hard to go without that experience for too long. 😃

I like Splatoon, too. It’s a fresh take on the shooter genre. 😃

Anyone like the walking dead telltale series? I love the first game with clementine and Lee. The storyline was very well done. The second game was good too but not a patch on the first. The third installment has just came out - the new frontier…I haven’t played it yet looks good though.
