Who here likes video games? Anyone?

Is anyone excited for Sega and Nintendo re-releasing their original game systems with preloaded games? I am.

I play video games, but mostly old ones. Right now I’m playing Animal Crossing City Folk. Some of my favorites are Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2, and Final Fantasy X. I mostly play console games since my computer isn’t the best for gaming.

If you like action games and can take vulgarity, I’d recommend the Uncharted trilogy for the PS3 as well. And for something more on the artsy side, The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection (Ico is basically the arthouse counterpart to Prince of Persia).
Thanks for the recommendations. The Ico sounds rather interesting,

Anyone here plays Assassin’s Creed? I was reading the plot of the first installment and it somewhat bothered me.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassin%27s_Creed_(video_game)

It describes the Knights of Templas as a group “who desire peace through control” versus the Assassins who “who fight for peace with free will.” It seems like it’s building of off the “religion is a use of control” line.

Strangely enough the group called Assassins, via wiki link, has a background in Shia Islam. Once I thought about this it came to little surprise given the popular belief about The Crusades, but there are theories that the Crusades were battles against the spread of Islam and its containment. Interesting stuff given the latest politics concerning Islam and Christianity.

OK I got The Idolm@ster Platinum Stars for PS4 via Play-Asia. Wow. It takes some getting used to but the game is incredibly sweet and the songs, while not too many yet, are fun. Happy is especially fun. The game features music rhythm games where one earns EXP and money, mini games where one can power up the idol in terms of say fan numbers, and even a " Stage for you " section where you can have the girls perform each song for you, and you can co-ordinate the outfits. In between these things are cut scenes with girls interacting with you in Japanese, and it is possible to use phone based translation software to figure out what they’re saying beyond “good luck” or “happy birthday”.

The game has no negative elements. There are no panty shots or any lewd fan service. Everyone is pure and chaste, and each girl has her own story to tell – which may or may not follow the official anime (available on Crunchyroll). Anyway one can have a group of 3 idols with the leader getting most points per song, and every so many songs there is a medley where all girls perform. Each performance is rated and matched to your equipment = each outfit and accessory has level ratings and improves stats. With better equipment one need not be so good at pressing the buttons to time with the music. However some stages do require lots of leveling up because even perfect scores do not clearing.

Unlike Hatsune Miku Project Diva games the voices used in these songs are mixed in game, and are real voices. The songs also don’t end if you don’t do too well, and you score points for even songs you did not clear which translate into EXP. The music rhythm games are also easier. For example I found myself not being able to play on Normal on Project Diva while on Platinum Stars I am able to play PRO or MASTER (the hardest difficulty) on most songs.

I would hope Namco translates this game into English, and seeing how many fanservice Japanese games are making it Westward, it’s really a pity that an innocent game such as this one can’t make it. Still it is worth playing and I think it’s a game the whole family could enjoy - although the cute aspect of the girls may put many people off. Still as said there is no questionable stuff in the game. Namco has translated this game into Chinese and Korean, but sadly no English subtitles. And it would not be a hard thing to do.

Fallout 4 is my favorite. You gotta watch out though, you have the choice to get in a gay relationship and/or have sex with a romantic companion. Otherwise, you get to make moral decisions and help(or destroy:D:D) the Commonwealth(of Massachusetts.) I hope they add a Catholic mod. Knights Templar of the Commonwealth Wasteland, anyone?

Battlefield 4 is great, can’t wait for Battlefield 1.

I’m waiting on Inifinite Warfare.

I’m playing through No Man’s Sky. I’m thoroughly enjoying it, though it is a bit shallow.

Do you like the original Fallout? I like the character of the Lieutenant. He is played the great voice actor Tony Jay. Tony Jay also played General Attis in Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.

Yeah, I suspect that the reason for the mixed reviews is that it’s not for everyone. If you’re expecting a game that holds your hand along a linear path, you’ll be disappointed. The game has virtually no story. I don’t know why I’m enjoying No Man’s Sky because there are so many things that could’ve been better. I’d give it a 6/10.

I don’t know. It’s just fun. I can’t explain why. I don’t necessarily think it’s worth $80 dollars that they’re selling it for, but when the price goes down, it may be worth a look.

I play on Xbox. I have 3 and New Vegas as well. I plan on saving up for a computer and some older Fallout games after getting money stored away for a car.

PS4 gamer here. I play a wide variety of things. I like the games from From software like Bloodborne and Dark Souls III. I like the feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat a section or boss that’s been destroying you for a while.

I also like Plants vs Zombies 2, Fallout 4, 7 days to Die, Battleborn, Destiny, and a bunch of others that I can’t think of at the moment

Always looking for more people to play with…

I believe this is fine with Fair Use.

Some lyrics from Happy! the flagship song of idolm@ster Platinum Stars.

The song is here officially, posted by Namco Bandai.

Age rating: 12 and up.
"Hey! Boys! Don’t look back
Don’t stop! at the blue night
Let’s put on our shoes
Hey! Girls! The most important thing is
Don’t think! inspiration
Feel your heart’s harmony
Even if I struggle and fall, it’ll be alright
Now, look, the door of your dreams is your courage
I’m happy! Let’s stretch
I’m singin’! A chance on my right hand!
Let’s get more and more serious, go!

You’re happy! Together
You’re singin’! Sparkle time!
I’m sure, I’m sure, our happy waves are in the sea of light!
Even on unbearable times, I won’t give up
I want my favorite song to reach you, so I swear that for tomorrow
I’m happy! It’s overflowing
I’m singin’! Here’s a superb dance!
Let’s get fired up more and more
We’re happy! At any time
We’re singin’! Believe and jump!
I’m sure, I’m sure, our happy smiles are finally coming!
There is nothing rotten in this song, and sadly we will not see this sort of game in the West because it’s not a pervy fanservice game. Oh well, Japanese version is region free and will play on any PS4.

It’s been a little while since I lasted posted here. Let’s see…

I beat Twilight Princess for the first time since last year; it didn’t take until subsequent analysis of this playthrough where I realized how big a mess that game is. Not that it’s a boring mess.

I’ve also started Final Fantasy VII because that would be a pretty essential title for somebody who’s after the most important 3D games of the last four generations. I also bought Skyrim because, even though I’m not a fan of open worlds, I gotta know a contemporary title that’s stemmed from my favorite game’s (Ocarina of Time’s) influence. Thankfully, I was able to find it for only $5; after The Last of Us, I’m never paying up to $20 for a game ever again.
