Who here likes video games? Anyone?

Are any of you parents with full time jobs? I’ve found almost zero free time to play video games and I’m wondering how to find a balance to do it more. I miss having some video game time…

i’m not (yet) a parent, but i has many things i wanna do… i think you just need to manage your time and scheduling your activities so you find time for play games…

So I decided to finally try out Yooka Laylee despite the…mixed…reception it got. With that said, please send help! I’m addicted to this game!

Joking aside (though my time gaming has gone up the last few days because of it), I am having a lot of fun, far more than I expected given the reception the game got. While it may not have the polish of Super Mario Odyssey, it still very much captures the fun of the N64 collectathons.

I generally play during lunch at work (I love my switch), and then my wife and I spend time playing after our son is in bed. She’s repalying Breath of the Wild. I’m playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

I’m also considering picking up Disgaea 5 on the Switch. It’s 50% off right now. My main concern is just how overtly sexualized the characters and classes are. As much as I’d like to play the game, I don’t think it’d be a great idea for me, which sucks. I wish they had skin packs or something.

I am a parent with a full time job. I just tend to make time at the end of the day after my kid’s in bed. I also have a pretty solid rule of not bringing work home when I can help it. So much so that, rather than miss my family time in the evening, I am coming into work two hours early until my current deadline passes.

It’s not a lot of gaming time, but it’s still something.

Yes, I mainly play in the evenings after everyone else is in bed. With the Switch, though, I sometimes just grab a few games of Splatoon here and there, too. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Some games like Mario Odyssey or Zelda, I’d play with my daughter.

Okay, I backed Yooka Laylee on Kickstarter and have the game, but haven’t actually played it. You are reminding me that I need to circle back to it. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I always loved Banjo-Kazooie.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is fun so far. I’m also finally getting around to playing Return of the Obra Dinn, which is super cool.

I’ve been meaning to get around to playing that game. I absolutely loved Papers Please and have enjoyed some of Lucas Pope’s other games like The Republia Times. Definitely someone whose games I want to at least try out.

I’m also loving Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Like most of the reviews I’ve read I was a bit concerned about the school aspect, but man does it ever work in this game.

I’m not too far into it, I’ve been playing super slowly, so I’m only like… two months into the story so far… after eight and a half hours of game play… I spent a bunch of time on my last free day doing the optional battles. I’m trying to figure out if there’s a limit to the number of times you can do option battles. I did… I think four of the free optional battles before the one that used my one combat point. I still could have kept doing more, so I think they might be infinite, which is great for leveling up a few of my… less favorite… character… cough Hubert cough

Which house did you chose?

Anyone who played DbD certainly know what I’m talking about.
I have developed a lot in my faith since I started playing, but I still play D&D. Or, I would if I could get a campaign going and find a DM. It’s a game, like the Elder Scrolls series, and it has fantasy elements in it that you play the part of. I know full well none of that stuff is real, and I tend to avoid characters that are anything lower than neutral-neutral. It’s just another form of entertainment, like reading a story.

I picked up the complete collection of the Lord of Rings tabletop RPG from Humble Bundle about a year ago. I’ve been dying to give it a go, but no one I know is that interested. 😦

Anyone here having fun with Hero in smash? I was having the time of my life on launch night

id play, but I don’t live close and online is hard. I don’t have the players guide though, so…

All mine are digital versions, so I can share them with anyone who wanted to play. But yeah, it doesn’t really lend itself to online play >_>

I went with Golden Deer because the characters and the leader’s attitude appealed most to me. I’m not far in either and I have to say I’m really curious to see where the story goes with the whole paths thing, and how different they’ll be from one another. I hope that aspect turns out better than it did in Fates.

I agree that the school part works well here. I’m already more invested in this game’s cast than I was in most of the other Fire Emblem games I’ve played, and not much has even happened yet.

That’s fair. In my opinion those kinds of things can be just fine in fiction, but I guess it really depends on the person and how they affect them. I think my brother plays that game, I’m not really into that type of multiplayer though.

I do have to say that in general violent games are just not my thing anymore. I find myself wishing that games that rely so much on killing for the main gameplay…didn’t. It’s mainly just a personal preference I guess. I think there’s a lot that’s more interesting you can do with gameplay and story than just combat.

I went with Black Eagle, though the Golden Deers will probably be my second play through… I don’t really like Dmitri much >_>

I am really excited for a second and third play-through, because the reviews I’ve read have said that the stories are really different for each house.

I don’t know how it compares to Fates. I bought Fates when I got my new 3Ds, but decided to play Majora’s Mask first. By the time I finished it up I’d lost the Fates cartridge T_T. I actually bought both Fates games and the third story as DLC, so it’s a pretty big loss…

I’m really happy this game has toned down the loli characters. It still bothers me that in Awakening, to get one of the best characters I have to convince a character to marry the loli dragon girl…
