As someone else said I hope we recognize him early, not that it would spare us any of the grief. How would anyone prepare for that even IF they knew exactly who it was and when the anti-Christ would take over ?

This is exactly the reason why our choice of movies NOW reveals to us our own philosophies. We are preparing now! In fact, we have been preparing for at least one hundred years (since ‘movies’ were first invented).

Here is the theory:

All art throughout history, whether pagan or Christian, was (and is) an attempt to ‘incarnate’ the Christ; to bring him back to us.

Finally, with movies, mankind has created a universe that he himself can ‘believe in’; something that can meet his faith half way; in short, something that can replace God. ‘The movies’ are the world we - or, more likely, the ‘dark forces’ within us - can escape to from God.

Or at least that was the plan…

Just before the perfection of this type of movie (which is happening just now, in our own time) God himself succeeded in ‘incarnating’ himself into this second world of cinema. This took place with Mulholland Drive.

Mel Gibson: “I hate movies I can’t understand.”

Mel Gibson, and many others, distrust movies that do not reveal themselves to them in the manner that they would like. There has developed a frustration with God’s ways of doing things.

If the question is about the figure in Rev.13.18 (the book nowhere uses the word “antichrist”, BTW), Nero seems to be indicated, for several reasons:​

  1. The numerical value of 666 fits “Neron Kaisar”
  2. This would suit a date early in the Jewish War of 66 to 73
  3. If the woman in chapter 12 symbolises the Jewish-Christian Church which (in a notice by Eusebius) is said to have fled from Jerusalem to Pella, then again the date would be before the final siege of Jerusalem, but during the war
All these pieces of information favour the suggestion that Nero, or possibly a Nero redivivus, was considered to be the figure denoted by the number 666; there was a Parthian pseudo-Nero as late as 80 (which is perhaps why Nero “was, and is not, and is to come” - a parody of the Divine epithets, “Who was, and is, and is to come, the Almighty”). It may well have seemed unbelievable to Christians, as well as to others, that Nero had really died in 68. The continued “sightings” of Hitler after the War are a modern parallel.

Since the Apocalypse is an apocalypse, and not a prediction of events hundreds (let alone thousands) of years in the future, it has to be interpreted as an apocalypse; which means that it is written for the benefit of living men (not for generations yet unborn), in veiled language. The attempts to identify the 666 with various Popes, or Luther, or Napoleon, or Diocletian, or Hitler, or Kaiser Wilhelm II, or the UN, or whatever it may be, all fail because the “favourite” has absolutely nothing to do with the people for whom John wrote.

Other features of apocalyptic include:
  • the figure of the interpreting angel
  • symbolic numbers
  • symbolic animals
Objection: the woman in 12 and the great whore in 17 and the second beast are not individuals - so the 666 cannot be an individual Roman emperor.

OTOH, one an individual can stand for another, or for something bigger than an individual person - the angels of the seven churches “stand for” the episkopoi of them, so that one can be addressed when the other is intended.

So here, Nero is identified as the eschatological enemy of God, not because Nero as an individual human being is that enemy, but because what is done to Nero, is taken as done to that enemy: the one stands for the other, and the downfall of the one, reveals the downfall of the other. And behind the evil of both, is the devil. ##

I agree that Benjemin Creme is basically the John the Baptist of the antichrist Meitraya. Be very careful to pray for protection before you read anything on him. They even offer his magazine in the library!

You really aren’t making any sense. Why don’t you just drop it and lets all move on.
 
This is sad. Some of us think its Barney, Bill Gates, Clinton, actors and actresses. The Bibles tells us plainly who it is but we plug our ears, and close our eyes and say la la la.

It can’t be Nero, becasue he died at least 20 years before John picked up His pen to write Revelation. And Diocletian killed way more Christians that Nero ever dreamed, and lived 200 years after him.

The bible tells us who the antichrist is in Daniel chapter 7, 2nd Thessalonains 2, John’s 3 letters, and Revelation.

But keep in mind, 2nd Thessalonians says he will sit in the temple. Christians keep thier eyes peeled and clamour every time they hear the word ‘temple’. They immidiatly look to Israel and say “phew…at least we will be able to keep an eye on it, and if they start building something, we’ll know…yep, we’re safe for now”.

Paul tells us that the antichrist will “as God, sit in the temple of God”. If the synagogue of satan (Rev. 3:9) builds a jewish temple in Israel, will God sit in it? No, He will not. God sits exalted in the true temple. “What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God?” 1 Cor. 6:19

“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? Ye are the temple of the living God; As God hath said, I will dwell in them, and I will walk in them; and I will be thier God, and they shall be my people” 2 Corinthians 6:16

The same Holy Ghost of the almighty God that sat on the mercy seat above the ark of the Covenant, now sits inside each and every one of us that accepts the covenant of Christ blood shed for us.

The work of the temple was to 1) forgive sin and 2) to worship God. Jesus is our advocate who goes to bat for us when we ask him to. (Hebrews 8:1-13) Our sin is forgiven when we look to Christ (Hebrews 9:27-28, Romans 8:1), and confess to God through Christ our sin (Psalm 32:5, Daniel 9:4)

With a billion Christians in the world, thats alot of temple to sit in. If we are to take a coherent look at the antichrist, we cannot rule out the fact that he would need a priesthood. He will also appear to us as a Christian (1 John 2:18-19). So let’s make sure that we try every spirit to see whther it is of God.

Let’s keep our eyes peeled…shall we…?

Don’t you mean Catholic Christians? There certainly must be more then “a billion” if there are 1.1 billion Catholics alone, that’s not even factoring in the number of Christians of other denominations.

That’s a very cute poll.

There is a chance that I have solved the question of who the 2 Thessalonians 2 “man of lawlessness” and the Revelation 13 “beast come out of the sea,” is – I believe they are one and the same – but the answer I have come up with is so deeply, deeply bizarre that no one bothers to review the evidence, step-by-step.

All I do is hurt my reputation.
 
Herry, your insinuations are old news…Christ started the Catholic Church Himself, and gave His promise to remain with it always.

Be careful not to call something good bad…when the pharisees told Jesus that He got His power from the devil, He turned to them and said that sin would not be forgiven in this world or the next. If the Church really is the Mystical Body of Christ, I would be careful to call it the anti-Christ.
 
Herry, it seems you think the anti-Christ will invade every Christian, or are you implying every Catholic Christian as most of your Protestant buddies believe.

Jesus considers His Church to be His bride. I would be very careful in accusing the Church to be the harlot of Babylon.

There is no way that the Catholic Church would ever declare itself to be God, and there is no way that the Church would ever be unfaithful to its founder Jesus Christ. You’re on shakey ground from the start, I’d tread carefully before you fall thorugh the ice.

there are many, but the one you refer to…

will rule from Jerusalem before Christ comes again…
the Jewish people will believe he is the Christ…

so, look in the old testament, and look for the signs
of Christ’s first comming, he will have to meet all those
requirements… house of David… ect

so, it stands to reason he might be mideastern, but
he will ‘almost’ definately be of Jewish decent… and can’t be
a christian, since a christian believes Jesus is the
Christ, and hence, would disqualify himself as being
the first comming of the Messiah…

even if he stated that he only claimed to be christian,
that too would disqualify him… as the Messiah would
never espouse a false doctrine, for any reason…

so, any pope would seem to me to be ruled out…

This fits with my theory that Bill Gates is the antichrist. After all, Our Lord said that upon this Rock I will build my Church, and the Gates of Hell will not prevail against it.

After Jesus told the disciples that he will be betrayed and crucified “Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, be it far from the Lord: this shall not be done unto thee”. “And Jesus turned to him and said, Get thee behind me, Satan, tho art an offence to me: for thou savorest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men” Matthew 16:22-23
  1. John says explicitly in 1st John 2:19 that the antichrist went out from the Christian Church in the first century.He said “it is already in the world, they went out FROM US…”.
“But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled eve through his subtility, so that your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. FOR HE THAT COMETH PREACHETH ANOTHER CHRIST, WHICH WE HAVE NOT PREACHED, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might bear with him” 2 Corinthians 11:3-4

Herry, you are pretty good at taking things out of context…no, Mary wasn’t crucified for us (however, she was more united to Christ’s sufferings than any of us ever will be…), nor do Catholics teach that we worship Mary - we honor her as the Mother of God. Christ would’ve honored her more than any of us could, and we imitate Him.

And by saying that the Catholic Church is the anti-Christ, then you would indirectly be saying that we got the Bible from the anti-Christ…interesting.
 
Jack Chick… haha… he’s not the anti-Christ. He’s just insane.

My school’s largest Protestant club is quite fond of passing out Jack Chick comic books around campus. I tell them they’ll be much more sucessful if they would stop approaching people with a “you’re a jerk and you’re going to hell” attitutude. But what does some pagan Catholic know, anyway?

That’s right Herry. The Catholic faith is so much deeper and richer than just taking phrases out of context from the Bible. Mary was the new Arc and the new Eve. All that holy woman ever did was tell people to “Do as He says.” We don’t worship her but we have the utmost adoration and honor for her.

When Jesus said, “Woman behold your Son” and then “Son behold your Mother”, he gave her to the whole world. I consider her my mother.

I am sick of these people calling the Church the Whore of Babylon and the anti-Christ. I don’t know why they don’t concentrate on what they believe in instead of constantly pointing fingers at the Catholic Church.

I’ve been a Catholic my entire life and I’ve never heard hatred come out of any priests mouth the way I hear it from some of these fundamental Protestant ministers.

Catholics are human, we sin and we fall short, but the Church was instituted by Jesus and it is led by the Holy Spirit and the gates of Hell will never prevail upon it.

You should be careful, I don’t think Jesus would want you degrading his Mother.
