I am getting really really tired of being accused of hatred because I object to the President’s brazen mendacity. I’m also gettinng really really really tired of hearing the media called a fake by people who swallow the stuff he says without EVER taking him to task directly.

How is anybody supposed to search for the posts you were referring to when you suggested that at least some of the people reading your post need to buy a mirror?

You wrote that there are “Trump haters on here” who need to buy a mirror.

Who did you mean? What post or posts did they make that was an example of hate rather than being legitimate objections to public actions or policies or proposals or statements that were not acceptable for the President of the United States (since we’re supposedly talking about who we’re supporting in the next presidential election “with our Catholic values in mind”)?

The mirror ad was meant for his comment that I had nothing of substance to say. IOW, I was in fact saying to the poster; go look in the mirror. The attack on the free press is also unsettling and dangerous. Trump has given the absolute belief that the press is the “Enemy of the people,” an almost religious dogmatic quality. You don’t have to be much of a historian to know how alarming that is.
Those words began with Julius Ceasar and have been consistently used by the worst authoritarians since, especially in the 20th century.
There has always been a love hate relationship between politicians and free press. But not a " campaign” since a president’s first days, to impugn the press as illegitimate institutionally.
" So called Judges" another example.
Deep State, another conspiracy he has made a term that must be accepted to be a " member " of Trumpism.
Except one thing, members of this deep State, to the man, have one thing in common. The job of investigating or doing oversight of HIM. Has anyone heard of this term involved, in the teeny tiniest was with anything not personal to him of his political doings? What a coincidence! Like the claim of his interest " fighting curruption" in Ukraine. The only articulable case just by chance, is personal to him. Lol. It is intentionally destabilizing.
Add to it his," I never did anything that requires forgiveness," ( the Cal Thomas Interview) and it is unsettling constantly. Does anyone believe Trump has an involuntary compulsion to rid Ukraine of politically driven sweet deals? MANAFORTS client in Ukraine required Putin’s Assylum, and was convicted of TREASON. Trump is his next gig. All of this national crisis comes from where?
Comments that he will make CATHOLOCISM Great Again makes you scratch your head. Till there is a bald spot. Lol. A few years ago there was a really good article about the influence of Vincent Peale on Trump. Again unsettling because it I consistent with not having anything in his previous 70+ years on earth to ask God forgiveness for.
As a Catholic, we know it is unlikely to make it weeks, without some issue that merits contrition. Jesus himself only made it about 30 years without blemish.

You’re misrepresenting what I said. I said lack of demand is probably the reason for their numbers reduction, but they would have trouble re-opening because of the Dems insistence that they acopt children to homosexuals.

The Church does not, and will never officiate or sanction gay marriage. At least while the Constitution I swore to protect continues to endure.
A Catholic should be well aware that authentic marriage takes place within the church and it’s sanction. The issues of civil marriage might be valid to Protestants, not us. The rest is guilt by semantics. " But they called it a wedding"
I oppose abortion. But I oppose the assault on the rest of my faith also.
This idea that gays, and whatever they do, and abortion are the alpha and Omega, of what it means to be Catholic is misbegotten. One would think Jesus would have mentioned either issue expressly if our entire political choice should be based solely on them.

First, I do not believe in socialism and neither do Democrats. That’s a slander.
Second, Democrats do believe in things like Medicare and social safety net which has become part of the fabric of our condition. Why don’t you?
I say that because we can look at the social policy teachings of the Catholic Church and clearly Democrats more fully represent most of them.
 
If Trump is so much opposed to abortion, why is he also opposed to providing free maternity care and medical delivery services for all pregnant women so as to remove one of the excuses some women give for choosing abortion? (Perhaps keeps taxes is low is more important?)

All the while he wants to end Obamacare, which currently is supplying those needs. And claims of plans from Ivanka do not count for anything in my book. He does not support universal health care in general, and does not support universal maternity care in particular, and is doing everything he can to dismantle what there is. This is not from fake news lies, but from what I hear with my own ears from Trump’s own mouth.
