Well, I’d say you were wrong about the president. He has been an accomplished individual for at least the last 20 years. Further, he was asked to write an autobiography by an editor who thought it would sell. I bought his first book in 1998 or so. The followup was certainly to cash in on his celebrity.

I think we need to keep the president.
I think we need to keep the Presidency, we jsut need to dump the current guy holding the office.

Although I did not vote for Mr Obama because he is not pro-life, I like “some” of his other positions(research and education)
But ,my country comes first,if he and his team show not to be capable to better the economic situation substantially,he has to be replaced by someone else and let him or her try.My country comes before any personality, notwithstanding how attractive and accomplished it may be.

There its is in the nutshell.

Other than getting elected to positions he was imminently unqualified to hold what were his accomplishments? Getting Bill Ayers to write a book for him hardly qualifies as an accomplishment, by the way
I think we need to keep the president.
And you reconcile that belief with the teachings of your Church in what way?

Beau, with all due respect for your opinion, please enumerate what he has accomplished other than to be a community organizer?

He became the President of the United States, no mean feat, for one. I know that doesn’t impress you, so I suggest that you not vote for him in the '12 election. I’d give the same advice to the conservative posters on this Forum: don’t like him? don’t like his policies? don’t vote for him! Can’t be any simpler than that.

Well;

-First black President of the Harvard Law Review
-First black person to receive the Presidential nomination from a major political party
-Became President of the United States
-First black person to become President of the United States
-Won the Nobel Peace Prize
-His work as commander-in-chief stopped Bin Laden

I’m no Obama fan, but he’s clearly had extraordinary accomplishments

wouldn’t it be helpful for us voters,if some one would state clearly what stance each candidate has in relation with pro-life issues?
For exmple Mitt R.is he pro-life?
I know Sarah P is.
But what about one that I will likely vote:Tim P.Does anybody know how he thinks on this matter?
WE MUST KNOW

I will leave it to others to point out the hilarity of mentioniing his Nobel Peace Prize. but it appears from your list that his primary achievement is he is Black.

So, he “earned” all that stuff because of his skin color? Maybe if I get a full body tatoo and have myself colored purple I can be the first Purple President. The first Purple Nobel Prize winner…the rest of it, not so impressive.

If he’s as bad as so many of you are complaining about, just don’t vote for him. The business of complaining how bad he is gets tiresome. I’m not defending him at all; I’m not planning to vote for him except under one particular circumstance, but I don’t find it worthwhile or particularly mature to just *itch and moan about him. 🤷

Some comments about Palin is that she is too much like Ronald Reagan.

And that she is too pretty.

[If she is attractive, that means she doesn’t have a brain.]

So, she is an attractive, female, dense version of Ronald Reagan. 🤷

Can’t be too dense.

Doesn’t need a teleprompter for every little talk.

And they called Reagan … an amiable dunce.

Not true for him. Not true for her either.

Somebody or other said it was best to be underestimated.

But she sure has the Democrats spooked!

Considering the history of racism in America, it’s extraordinary what he has accomplished and overcome

No, he didn’t earn it because of his skin colour, he didn’t earn anything because of skin colour, but he overcame racial prejudices and has accomplished things no other American has

Too bad he is totally incompetent. Guess the good news is we can still have a “first competent black president”

estesob, the person I initially responded to was asking what Obama has accomplished, and I pointed it out. You don’t need to be going on about whether or not he is competent because I was just pointing out his achievements in life

Family member of mine had a GPA of 3.6 after getting her degree from a big college in Texas. She tried getting into OU and they told her she had to have a 3.7 or higher for a PhD.

We know Obamas GPA before Harvard was less than 3.3.

I want to know how he even got in, much less graduated.
