Speak the Truth in Love, yes, and do good works, but do not be afraid to speak the Truth! If we didn’t speak, the “very rocks would cry out…” Atheists are unhappy because they reject the reality and the love, joy and peace of God!“Become doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves with false reasoning. For if anyone is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, this one is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, and off he goes and immediately forgets what sort of man he is. But he who peers into the perfect law that belongs to freedom and who persists in it, this man, because he has become, not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, will be happy in his doing it.” (James 1:22-25).
If a Catholic has the spirit then not one word or put down is necessary. People will feel it and become curious, but many Catholics are Catholic in tongue only so turn people off to the faith. The statement atheists are so unhappy is a put down. Catholics also are unhappy so we should be talking about that.
Catholics are unhappy if we haven’t fully assimilated the Truth. But that’s only half of the story, the other half, is that we have an unspeakable joy and the undeserved privilege through Christ, of knowing the"…glorious freedom of the children of God…" And the great irony is this, it is our hope and our prayer, in union with Jesus, "that not one of these be lost…"(Catholic*** or ***atheist)
God bless you.
