How would one know if the 80 + year old died of covid or with covid? There is no definitive test.

All geographic populations do not have equal reactions to ANY virus. Some have more inherent protection, some have less genetic predisposition. health and lifestyle factors, climate, rural vs city, etc.

Northern Italy has a high % of Chinese expats.

This is a multivariable problem.
