What’s the big deal if Catholics live longer in this world. Consider the Scriptures:
Philippians 1:21
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Do you really believe you determine when you are to be born and when you will die? God is sovereign in life and in death.

I have never heard of a strict vegetarian living beyond the age of 60… All the people i have known or studied who lived to be over 100 ate meat…<<
ANY diet can be destructive and unhealthy if not well balanced. That goes for vegetarians, vegans, and omnivores.
No study proves 100% of the cases 100% of the time. As any study, these do not prove that ALL people who live a long life (by whatever measure) are always going to be vegetarian. Of course not. There will be people who eat meat every day and smoke, as well, who live to a ripe old age. It’s not ALL about diet. A lot of is has to do w/ genes.
But for someone to say that people who eat meat live longer (as a blanket statement) is to ignore other studies, like the ones I posted.

Yes there were studies that most have been posted here, that say that Catholics and Mainline Protestants live longer and they offer many reasons why… If any of you still doubt, you may want to go back and read some of the links.
I know in my secular public school we were taught that Catholics had a much lower suicide rate if they frequented confession…
As for practical proof… My grandma was a very active lady that lived to almost 104 yrs old, and all my Catholic relatives are much longer lived than my non-Catholic side. My guess would be that what some of you have said is correct… social justice issues, involvement in community, feeling like a part of the whole… and of course the sacraments… getting rid of guilt and being forgiven is an awesome feeling! And receiving our Lord in the Eucharist… priceless. Generally speaking, the better you feel, the more active you are, the healthier you are and the longer you live… but that would just be my opinion…

I actually read today on Yahoo that the world’s oldest man is Japanese, a native to Japan, and is 113 years old. I guess Shinto Buddhist Japanese guys outlive protestants AND catholics!! lol

True, the Eucharist is life itself, but to say Catholics live longer than Protestants would be monstrious. Only Jesus holds the Keys of Life and of Death. And what is trying to be proven by saying Catholics live longer? That we’re better than Protestants? Pshaw! What was it that Jesus said? “Only God is good”.

to die is gain because to die (4 most of us) means going 2 Purgatory to get our stain of sin removed… (even the stain of hating Catholics

There, that unequivically proves your assertion false. Obviously Protestants live MUCH longer than Catholics.

Absolutely. Living long is no sign of being good.
Also consider what Paul said,
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 Now if I am to go on living in the body, this will mean productive work for me; yet I don’t know what I prefer: 23 I feel torn between the two, because I have a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far, 24 but it is more vital for your sake that I remain in the body.
He would rather die and be with Christ, but he felt a duty to remain on earth and teach the ways of Christ to others.

The thread is predicated on a form of “prosperity theology” 
- which is rotten in itself, & treats changeable things as though they were not; which is also one of the weaknesses in Boettner’s “Roman Catholicism”; & in a lot of apologetic generally 
What good is prosperity without Christ ? It’s utterly worthless.
PT forgets that Christianity is founded on faith in an executed felon who was rejected by the authorities of his own people. If Catholicism is valid, using arguments based on PT - from longevity, numbers of adherents, geographical extent, political power, & the like - are a betrayal of it. They encourage people to join because it becomes “fashionable”

The more of everything a Church has of the goods of this world, the more it has to lose.

Maybe Protestants are first in line to get into heaven. When there is a shortage of Protestants at the gate, then Saint Peter tells God that there’s some room for Catholics.
