Why do Catholics Live Longer than Protestants?

Maybe Catholics don’t really live longer…

It just SEEMS longer because we have to put up with Protestants all the time!!

I hate to crash the party.

But.

I would like to see where Mr. Distracted got this information.

Who knows, maybe there are some scientists out there who did a series of controlled experiments, eliminated all other variables that could contribute to longevity, and have scientifically concluded (with a confidence level of say 2 sigma) that statistically speaking Catholics on the whole will outlive Protestants.

That would be very interesting to see.

But I doubt such a study exists. For one thing, it it did exist it would be all over the internet.

More likely the source might do something like tabulate the average longevity of a population by demographic, and in this tabulation of this specific population Catholics scored higher than Protestants.

I hate to break it to you, but if that is the case, you do not have enough data to scientifically demonstrate that Catholics live longer than Protestants.

Well both of my Grandmothers lived to be 91 One was a Cathholic the other a Lutheran. My Lutheraner Magazines list a dozen Members who have reached 101 each month. So where do you get your statistics ? Claim it has slipped your Mind ? Seems to me your running out of mean spirited Threads questions to post. Maybe those 101 old people in my church are here today because of the Eucharist they get every Sunday at the communion rail.

How about: Catholics are doomed, so we are given liife on earth to enjoy, as we are not going to enjoy the hereafter. 🤷 🙂​

What is your problem? You claim to be this great christian but yet you are so in tolerant of others. You complain about what others post but your just as guilty as they are. All your posts are filled with hate. Where do you get your facts on the diet s of Catholics and Protestants. Are all catholic Fit skinny people are all Protestants over weight? You should get a hobby and do something besides attack others. Then again maybe this is a good place for you to vent otherwise I fear the loss of life of my fellow Non Catholics.

I was wrong the November issue of the Lutheran magazine had 25 not 12 Church members over 100 years old one lady is 108. Could be that these lutheran ladies live so long because of the Church pot lucks they went to. All that fellowship and worship of God. All the time spent looking out for those around them. Attending Church each Sunday and talking to those people you worship with after church. Going to Education hour between Sunday services and learning more abouth Jesus and about the Bible and how they should live their lives. You see some want to claim that Catholics live longer and that are the only true Christians. I was catholic until I listened to Ewtn radio and read the the posts to this Blog.
I am just a blue collar Red neck Lutheran and the Post of distracted and the apologetic of Patrick Madrid seem very non christian to me. I wonder if Jesus could listen to Ewtn or read this Blog what he would have to say ?

Yes I read that feature every month. My Granmother Lived to be 91 She was the involdecd in Her Lutheran Church her entire life. She lived as good christian life and raised her family to do the same.

i think Catholics live longer (aside from the Eucharist) because Catholics usually live “cleaner” lives… they don’t abuse their bodies, usually, with alchohol, cigarettes, fornication, birth control pills, (well, some of them don’t anyway…) etc…

From what I have seen MOST Catholics live terrible lives and are very ignorant in church teachings.

well, this doesn’t sound very scientific… All one has to do is search the records of people who claim to be Catholic, find out their ages and compare them to an equal (and rather “large”) number of Protestants… (large so as to overcome the obstacle of… it not being truly representative… ). It doesn’t take a bona fide scientist with a master’s degree to do that…
Do you recall where you got every piece of information floating around in your head?? Well, i don’t either… but i have heard this statistic quoted in 2 different places… and i don’t read trash periodicals… or books or whatever…

Oh… and by the way… I am not a MR.

i am distracted… just a common, garden-variety… fanatic about the Catholic church- because i know what it saved me from and what it COULD have saved me from…

No other church (so called) ever could do the same for me (been in a lot of them…)… Those others do not have the rosary (which brought me back to Christ in a BIG way)… or the Mass or confession or the Real Presence…

There’s nothing like an original… 😃

big deal. The women who have broken world records for longevity were likely Catholic. One i know was Catholic and the other went to some Church called St. Something or other] so i am sure she was Catholic… the article about her spoke of first Cornfirmation & that kind of thing… And besides, the studies i read (statistics, i should say) only said that generally speaking, Catholics tend to live longer… It didn’t mean to say that every single Catholic lives longer than every single Protestant…

i think people who say others are non-Christian just because they say something they don’t like are un-Christian…

Says something about the Real Presence of Christ in the Catholic Church… 🙂

Umm no. That is not “all one has to do”. You obviously do not know statistics, design of experiments, and basic scientific methodology.

That is ok. But you have now been corrected.
