The word of God is not up for interpretation.
The word of God is not up for interpretation.
So, the church teaches what will eventually be written down. Right? Isn’t that the same as the bible only? The Church.
Not everything was written down. 2 Thessalonians 2:15. And 1 Timothy 3:15 states that The Church is the pillar and the foundation of the truth. Not that the Bible is the pillar and foundation of the truthSo, the church teaches what will eventually be written down. Right? Isn’t that the same as the bible only?
2Thess.2Not everything was written down. 2 Thessalonians 2:15.
rfournier103;10911412:
You can only “go to him” in the Catholic Church, by means of the Sacraments, which bring Him down from Heaven to walk among us. If a Catholic “goes to Jesus” he puts on his jacket, and “goes” to where Jesus is physically located in space and time, but when a Protestant “goes to Jesus” he doesn’t actually “go” anywhere. That is false, Jesus said we must believe in him and get baptized to be saved. He also said we must repent for our sins before God. If you do not believe Jesus in Christ you will not be saved. It is entirely in your hands. God did his part, he gave his only begotten son. It is up to you whether your not you go to him.
Then why are they in the Bible at all?All of those quotes are things you should do, but not necessary to be saved.
by word of mouth OR epistle. Or shows a difference. It doesn’t say, " the oral traditions and our letters are the same."2Thess.2
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
This pretty much says that the things taudht by word are the same as the things written down. In fact Paul writes in 1Cor.2:For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. So the traditions that are taught by word and mouth in 2Thess.2:15 are one and the same thing and that is Jesus Christ and Him crucified, which would be what the bible teaches.

2Thess.2:15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Certainly implies that they are the same, but 1Cor2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Confirms it.by word of mouth OR epistle. Or shows a difference. It doesn’t say, " the oral traditions and our letters are the same."
Bolded and underlined are mine. That is what you should do, but that is not what the church sacraments say. It says the priest forgives you. What you do is what I think we should all do. I just don’t think it is required.
Nope. That isn’t how The Church interprets it. It doesn’t imply that they are they same. It doesn’t say that they are the same.2Thess.2:15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Certainly implies that they are the same, but 1Cor2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Confirms it.
1Cor.2:2 does.Nope. That isn’t how The Church interprets it. It doesn’t imply that they are they same. It doesn’t say that they are the same.
For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.1Cor.2:2 does.
I disagree. I will listen to The Church which is the pillar and foundation of truth. The Church has been doing this much longer than you have.1Cor.2:2 does.
Bold, italic, and underline are mine.2Thess.2

BAZINGA!!!I disagree. I will listen to The Church which is the pillar and foundation of truth. The Church has been doing this much longer than you have.

Not everything is written down, brother Rem.2Thess.2:15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Certainly implies that they are the same, but 1Cor2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Confirms it.
I still disagree and I’m not sure what you are trying to say. Again, The Church has been saying the same thing for 2000 years. I will stick with them. You disagree?
1Cor2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Know would mean any way that Paul preached whether by word of mouth epistle or whatever. That certainly would include 2Thess.2:15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
Whether you disagree or not it says what it says.
