And you darn right the Pope was infallible when he taught that the Blessed Mother was taken straight to heaven.
So you should be able to show this doctrine in Paul’s writings. Because Paul says in Gal.1:8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Were is this doctrine in any of Pauls writings.
Wanna see the scripture that states we are to believe our leader of the Church. I won’t dare ask you for it because I saw your work:D
What work is that?
Just want to save you some time there Richard Buddy. But here it is.
The bible tells us to listen to the leaders of the Church:eek:
1 John 4:6 We belong to God and anyone who knows God listens to US while anyone who does not belong to God refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.
1Jn4: 3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

I guess you got that a little mixed up rinnie, John is here talking of the spirit of antichrist that is at work in the world. But he says you (the people of the church to whom he is writing) have overcome this antichrist power because they have God dwelling in them. So John says in v.6 that we (John and the people to whom he is talking) are of God. Then he says “he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.” Meaning himself and the people to whom he is writing. He is not talking of church leaders here at all.
Tell me Richard just wonderring. Why does it shock you so bad that God took up the Mother of Jesus Christ body and soul? A women who gave up not only her life for God but her only Son:shrug:
Do you not think it was possible for God to do this? What really is your problem with it??
She is the Mother of the RCC and we love her so so much. She is our very own perfect and Blessed Mother. Shes is quite awesome I must say. Quite a role model for any women!!
This doctrine doesn’t shock me at all. I just think it’s not true. Because of this Ecc.9:5For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
and Ecc3: 19For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Psalm 146:4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Except for a few people that the bible says are in heaven people are dead and this includes Mary. God said Gen2:17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Satan says Gen3:4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

I choose to believe God.

It is Christ who is infallible. The teachers are not.
Okay Richard here I you said there are no infallible teachers exvept for Christ, Then later on you said that is no what you said.🤷

Or you accuse me of not reading your posts.

There are infallible teachers I gave you the scripture. Jesus told the aposltes he sent out that He who hears you hear Me, and He who reject you rejects me. These Apostles were teaching with the authority of CHirst. If they are teaching with the authority of Christ how can not be infallible Teachers?

 What are you talking about Richard? I am talking about teaching authority. Tell me Richard what is the pilar and ground of the truth according to the bible???
Okay Richard I never asked you what is the pilar and ground of all truth:shrug:

These are perfect examples to what you do to all questions that are asked of you. You either ignore them, or claim they were never asked. Then you continue to go out in left field with scripture that does not even relate to what you were asked.🤷

Okay Richard, so then what? we just forget about How Jesus took away death right??? Like I said this is not point to continue any discussion with you when you totally ignore the word of God.

We as RC believe that there is no longer death that Jesus Christ took away death by dying on the cross and now when we leave this world we continue on to the next world. We believe that he who accepts Jesus Christ and obeys his commands has eternal life in him.

You once again are out there in left field. Of course in the O.T. Adam sinned and by his sin we could not enter heaven. But then Richard here is a big surprise for you Jesus Christ came and by his death on the Cross heaven was opened up. And those held in hades were released and could enter heaven. So I would say Richard it is quite safe to believe the teachings of the Church and believe that the Blessed Mother is among them.

I will pray for you Richard.

Did Jesus Himself not say one must be born of wather to be save meaning a person must have baptism,I think He made very clear or do you think Jesus talks just to be talking. You must do as the Bible says and not what you think it said,God bless You

rinnie, this is exactly what I said in my posts. That the teachers were only infallible in so far as they teach the words of Jesus. It is Jesus who is infallible, not the teachers. I don’t know how else to put it so that you will understand. Humans, all humans, including the pope are fallible and without the the keys to the kingdom that Jesus gave to us all (not just Peter) which are His words. We are prone to the “sin that dwelleth in me.” Rom7:20

Esdra is it important when you are baptised. Yes. I would say as soon as possible. The sooner the better.

I also do not agree with you that the O.T. is not important. ALL of the word of God is very important. How could you possible begin to understand the N.T. without understanding the O.T.🤷

One quick example My God My God why have you forsaken me!! Who was Jesus taking to Esdra and why?
Hi rinnie,

yes, baptism IS important, but more important is that you personally accept Jesus as your Savior. And an infant simply can’t do that because it doesn’t understand what Jesus did for us on the Cross - That he took with Him all of our sins to the Cross, so that we may be righteous before God and we can again have a relationship to Him.
So, as Richard already has often stated, Baptism is only an outward sign that you belong to Him. (Have a look at the Story of the Nubian and Philipp: Acts 8,26-40. - So he believed Philipp. and I would say here you can see best in the Holy Scriptures that Baptism is an important outward sign that you belong to Jesus, but nothing more!)

So I can’t agree with you, when you say the sooner the better it is that you get baptised!
Baptism ONLY makes sense (and is also ONLY valid) when you really can understand what our LORD has done for us! And this is only possible at the age about 8-12! This is the reason why we Baptists don’t do infant baptism!

I agree - you need the OT to understand the NT, at least some books like Isahah, Jeremy, the Psalms etc. But what I wanted to say is that, in my opinion, the RCC and also the orthodox Churches have more or less adopted the priesthood of the OT (and many other rituals - So I HAVE read the OT, see! 😉 But they are too many to state here…) and this is not what Jesus wanted (have a look in the Evangelies how often he mocks about the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law!).

So we can go on to the Psalms. To answer your question: Jesus says in Mk 15,34 "At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “ELOI, ELOI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” which is translated, “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?” "
You can only understand this Verse when you know Psalm 22,1 “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? / Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning.”

I have read something quite interesting about that: A Scientist was wondering why Jesus’ last words were in Hebew and not in Aramaic, his mother tongue. And so he suggested that Jesus was praying because in the 9th hour the Jews were praying, or singing, Psalm 22 in the synagogue, or the Temple, I am not sure anymore.

Hope I answered your Questions. 😉

Best wishes,
Esdra

[SIGN]John is here talking of the spirit of antichrist that is at work in the world[/SIGN].

You put your little sign up. So, I assume that this is what you are going to respond to then you say
[SIGN][/SIGN]

Please Richard John 6 is not talking to the disciples and leaders of the Church:eek:
Which makes reference to a completely different book of John’s and has nothing to do with you’re little sign reference. You also make this a statement. Are you saying
Please Richard John 6 is not talking to the disciples and leaders of the Church. Or are you saying
Please Richard John 6 is not talking to the disciples and leaders of the Church?
Punctuation can make a big difference.
You continue and will continue to TRY to make the word of God say what it does not say. I cannot stop you from doing that just point it out to others. I believe that I have showed enough proof. Others can now see for themselves.
How am I trying to make this say anything that it does not say? Please be specific. I want to get to the bottom of this heinous deception just as badly as you do.

The passage in question is not from Jn.6, but 1Jn.4 Here it is again I have included vs. 1-7
John is here talking to the leaders of the church as well as everyone else in the church. I’m not quite sure what your point is here.

1 John 4
1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Did Jesus Himself not say one must be born of wather to be save meaning a person must have baptism,I think He made very clear or do you think Jesus talks just to be talking. You must do as the Bible says and not what you think it said,God bless You
I certainly am not disputing the fact that we need to be baptised. Just when it is possible to do that. Jn.3: 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Jesus says a man must be born again and then be baptised. An infant is not capable of being born again (accept Jesus as Lord and Savior) or be baptised (make the announcement that he has accepted Christ)

I certainly agree that we need to be baptised. It’s just when it is possible to do that that I am disputing. I think part of the problem is what exactly baptism is. It’s not somethig that is done to us without our concent. It is somethig that we have done to show our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior Jn.3: 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except **a man **be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Jesus says a man must be born again and be baptised. I think we should follow what Jesus says. Don’t you?

The doctrine of infallibility is implicit in these Petrine texts.

John 21:15 Feed My Sheep
Luke 22:32 I have prayed for YOU that your faith may not fail. Jesus prayed for Peter Richard do really think that the Prayers of Christ went unanswered. Please.

Matt. You are Peter. I did not see you are Richard there.😃

Christ instructed the CHURCH to Preach EVERYTHING he taught Matt 28:19-20 and PROMISED the Protection of the HS to GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH. John 16:13

That was our PROMISE from God Richard that the Church will NEVER fall alway from his teachings Matt 16:18 1 Tim 3:15 even if individual Catholics may.

Me too Richard. And in the O.T babys were circumcised which is now be replaced by baptism. Babys were circ. without their consent so beings that baptism replaced circ, but has the same meaning it would make sense that God would not with-hold it from infants.

You have no right to dispute the teaching of the Church Richard because you have no authority given to you by God to do so.

So it only makes sense to listen to the Church like Jesus told us.

The CHurch says Baptise them as soon as possible!!😃

Yes love Jesus is talking about Traditions of MAN not Sacred Traditions. Remember my love there is one rule of thumb in understanding scripture. Scripture cannot contradict scripture. SO if it does we are not understanding it correctly. Then we must go back and figure it out.

So be very carefull to read what Jesus is saying and not letting people try to tear down the Church.

Listen to what Paul is saying he warns them see that no one makes a prey of your philosophy and empty deceit according to HUMAN Traditon and not truths that were handed down to the Church by Apostoic Tradition. There is a big difference.

What is ST or Apostolic Tradition. It is necessary that Christians believe in and follow ST as well as the bible. Luke 10:16 Eph 3:5 ohn 14:25 16:13

Whether then it was I or they so we preach and so you believed 1 cor 15:3, 11 The Apostle praised those who followed Tradition. I comment you because you remember me in everything and maintain the TRADITIONS even as I have Delivered them to you.

See my Love scripture cannot contradict scripture.

The first christian devoted themself to Apostlic teachings (ST) acts 2:42 long before the N.T.

Paul even quotes ST to us from Jesus ACts 20:35 It is better to give then receive.

Keep studying love it will come clearer each day.

There are human traditions and ST or (Apostolic teachings) it means the same thing. Please note to see they are two different things. Human Traditon are traditions of Man, ST is the teachings of Christ.

I never said that the Pope could not sin or was not human. I said Richard that the Pope in infallible when he is speaking the words of Jesus Christ by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
As is everyone
]The doctrine of infallibility is implicit in these Petrine texts.
No it isn’t.
John 21:15 Feed My Sheep
He is telling every one of us along with Peter that if we love Him we will feed His sheep. What do we feed them with rinnie. We feed them with the bread of life. The keys to the kingdom of God. We feed them with the words of Jesus unto eternal life. Jn.6:31Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Jn.6:63the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Luke 22:32 I have prayed for YOU that your faith may not fail. Jesus prayed for Peter Richard do really think that the Prayers of Christ went unanswered. Please.
Jesus prays that Peters faith fail not. Not that he become infallible. We know he wasn’t because Paul rebukes this supposed leader of your church in Gal.2:11But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
12For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. Now this incident occurred after Pentecost when Peter had been filled with the HS. If we are to follow Peter in this scenario We are to become bigots against the Jews. Paul brings out in Rom. 11 that that is not to be the case. It just goes to show that because we have the HS dwelling in us is no guarrantee that we will follow His lead. We must choose to. The same as with baptism.
Matt. You are Peter. I did not see you are Richard there.😃
I don’t know what this means.
Christ instructed the CHURCH to Preach EVERYTHING he taught Matt 28:19-20 and PROMISED the Protection of the HS to GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH. John 16:13
Amen, No argument here.

Wow, same as the last post except for this little blurb at the end
St Augustine remarked ROME HAS SPOKEN THE CASE IS CLOSED.
