Why don't Muslims become Christian?

I believe certain things because the Qur’an says so. Seems like we have something in common.

I would like for you to read a book, called “Misquoting Jesus” by Dr. Bart Ehrman. Should clear up the “manuscript record” of the Bible for you.

Now, I’d like you to find me a scholar who says that hadeeth are not as reliable as the Qur’an. Not some mowlvi, but a real scholar–should be someone I’ve heard of before. Especially since you say that’s the “majority” view. Please.
Bart Ehrmanm??? Are you kidding me? He is right up there with the Jesus Seminar. He is extremely liberal. You should read some more balanced books!
For the sake of the Christians on this list, let me provide some background. The Qur’an is believed by Muslims to be the literal word of God, narrated, verbatim to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel over the period of 23 years. Hadeeth, on the other hand, are rigorously (have to give credit were credit is due) verified actions and/or sayings of Muhammad. These are the two primary sources of Islamic law (Shari’ah). In every school of Sunni jurisprudence, a verse from the Qur’an is preferred over a Hadith, no matter how sound. There are possibly 12000 Ahaadith (plural of Hadith). Less than half are considered Authentic. I do not know of a single instance where a hadith is given preference in Islamic law over a clear verse of the Qur’an. Do you disagree?

Actually in another thread before Christmas I remember making a list of teachings which are identical in Islam and Christianity. Identical. So no, the Qur’an doesn’t go against everything Christ taught. (In my view, it doesn’t go against anything he taught, but anyway…)

The Qur’an is verbatim the speech of Allah. Verbatim. Sometimes Allah talks about Himself in the 3rd person. Surat al-Fatihah is interesting as a part of the Qur’an, because it is what Muslims recite in their prayer. (I.e., iyyaka na’budu is what the worshippers say.) Other parts of the Qur’an are instructions to Muhamamd to “Say” such-and-such. (I.e., “Qul: huwa Allahu ahad”)

When Muslims talk about the Qur’an, especially in Arabic, it is always, “Allah (SWT) says…” when referring to the Qur’an. Never ever is the Qur’an confused with the words of the Messenger of Allah, which are completely different in style and rhythm and every possible way.
Do not Muslims deny the Trinity

Here you go. Proving the Trinity 3 in 1.

Genesis 1:2, Psalm 2:7, Genesis 1:26, John 3:16, Philippians 2:5-8, John 1:1, Acts 5:3-4, Genesis 3:22, Isaiah 6:8, John 12:35-41, Acts 28:25-27, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, Hebrews 11:1, II Corinthians 13:14. Need me to go into the Catechism??? All this proves that God is 3 in 1. Qur’an 112:1 denies the Holy Trinity. In nomine Patri, et Fillii, et Spiritui Sancto, Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
The very statement which I showed you is in the Bible. Even Jesus said it. The Lord your God is One. That verse I quoted doesn’t say anything about three in one. It just says one, and the Bible agrees.

When I say transgressing the limits, regarding to Christians, I am referring to Christians who say God has a son, named Jesus. That isn’t just a handful of extremists.
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, begotten before all ages, Light from Light, true God of true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father.

That is God’s honest Truth!!!
Then do you think a human wrote it?
You thought that was brilliant?

Let me review. The poster informed me that I should **know **that the Qur’an was revealed by Satan. As if that were a fact.

But yet when I asked him whether it was impossible for a human to have authored it, he said no. Implying of course that Muhammad authored it.

So will you people please make up your minds where you think the Qur’an came from?
Having something revealed doesn’t mean, as Muslims seem to imply, that a person is taken over and someone writes using that taken over body.

No doubt Satan was at work with Muhammad. Either the great deceiver appeared to Muhammad and gave him the ‘revelation’ of Islam and Muhammad believed the lie, or Muhammad hallucinated the whole thing and was mentally unstable which Satan utilized to his advantage, or Muhammad made the whole thing up and was following the pattern of his father the devil.

Whatever really happened, nothing Muhammad or his followers taught new was from God.

Sadly you are mistaken because Christ says to be bapitized in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

I like books with facts–regardless of whether they are “conservative” or “liberal.” And Bart Ehrman has facts and he has manuscripts.

I asked you to show me a scholar who says that the hadith are not as reliable as the Qur’an. The majority of scholars put them on the same level, as revelation, if the hadith has been verified as authentic. One is the word of God verbatim, the other the word of the messenger. You won’t find a scholar who says that authentic ahadith are not reliable.

So you should be more careful in what you claim. Shari’ah takes Qur’an and Hadith at the same level. 🙂

Now I’m afraid my time’s up for today.

Have a nice evening. 🙂

So you think Jesus taught you the Trinity. I disagree, but don’t you think he taught you anything else?

Try the Sermon on the Mount–a good place to start.
obviously you didn’t look one passage up that I gave you to look up. You want double proof from the Catechism. Can’t give it to you tonight. Got a meeting so I am out the rest of the night, but I will respond to you tomarrow.

Please look up Deuteronomy 6:4. The Hebrew word for “one” is “echad” which is the equivalent to the Arabic in the verse I quoted, “ahad.”

The Qur’an explicity denies the Holy Trinity :signofcross: without apparently understanding it.
Thank you. BTW aren’t you the one that converted to Christianity from Muslim. If so you have a little more insight than most.

I did. I looked up Matthew 28:19. 😉 Now you look up the one I told you. Deuteronomy 6:4.

I said to read other books that would give a more balanced view. I did not see to NOT read Bart Ehrmann. As regards the preference of the Qur’an over Hadith, you are ignorant or lying. :tsktsk: . How about these names Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi, Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Al-Albaanee, Imam ibn Baz. All of these scholars say that a clear verse from the Qur’an is prefered to a Hadith in Islamic jurisprudence. Do not twist my words  .Shari’ah takes both but prefers one over the other. You should study more!

Sister Amy
Good for you. 👍
You are on Catholic Answers Forum and were asked to give some documentation on various items of belief by several people on this list. So far there has been a wealth of non-responses disguised as possibly childish attempts to evade an obvous and ligitimate inquiry.

This issue is not abour ‘impressing’ anyone - only in resonding to questions.

Looking forward to your responses.

God bless

… more specifically, a Catholic Christian?
What’s so special about becoming a Catholic ? So many non-Catholic Christians are sending Mother Teresa to hell . So , why should a Muslim wants to join her there ? 🤷

To you be your Way, and to me mine ( 109:6)

I did. I looked up Matthew 28:19. 😉 Now you look up the one I told you. Deuteronomy 6:4.
I did and it proves there is one God. It doesn’t however deal with the Trinity which is the concept God the Father, God the Son(Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit 3 separate entities as 1. The references I gave you prove God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit are one as there is one God. would you like me to go into the Catechism of the Catholic Church and get verses and quotes. Yes there are biblical references from the Bible in the Catechism>

I would ask you the same question, What is so special about becoming Muslim? What is so special about becoming Catholic. Catholicism is the Church that Christ founded in the year 33 and that he IS the only begotten Son of the Father. Why are you condemning Mother Teresa? You have know right to assume one person is in heaven or hell.
