The number of possible universe, what it could be if we have done so and so, is infinite.
This means that universes without evil are possible. Why God didn’t desire a universe without evil?

What makes you think he didn’t?

I said only. We also observe evil. Therefore He desired to create a universe with evil. God in another hand is justice therefore He cannot desire evil. This means that we have a problem here.

We could have lived in that perfect universe that we always make right decisions. Isn’t that more rational and wise to create a universe without evil? This means that we have another problem here.

When you also start holding God accountable for what you consider “good”, then we can have a serious discussion.

In the meantime, prove to us that God desired to create evil. You are making an unfounded assumption.

Right, because a leader forces his definition of good on his people.
That’s not what Catholics believe love does.

You need to argue with atheists about this. Perhaps they have an answer as to why a God they don’t believe in is not understood by them.

Wasn’t possible for God to create a universe without evil? He had all options in His disposal. So my position holds unless you argue that a universe without evil is impossible.

It seems that you didn’t get the problem. I am arguing about good God and not against existence of God.

I do not think that the world we live in today could exist without evil. Why else would God allow it to exist?

Isaiah 45:7 in the King James Version reads, “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”

We could live in a perfect universe which we always do good. That is a possibility and God didn’t create that. God knows everything which means He knew all possible universes which could be created.

Right, cause Catholics read scripture like fundamentalists.

It is the verbatim quotation of God’s own words. There can be no higher authority (for you, of course).
so then you believe there is a dome over the sky…? It says so in Genesis. and since that’s how you read the bible…
And you are a 6 day creationist as well?

Tell me you don’t actually believe that is verbatim true…

Is it possible to have good without bad ?

Doubt it , simply because you can’t have action without reaction
You can’t have a positive without a negative ,
Basic science,

But it is possible to demand accounts for the bad without even recognizing the good. It’s not very just.

Balance is a big part of our existence, that alone demands both good and evil. An all good universe would need completely different rules, beyond our imagining.

God didn’t want a universe with mindless robots, without free will. He wanted humans who choose to do good & love Him.

You can’t know the divine as divine without something non-divine with which to juxtapose.

Animals know a universe without evil. They live by one thing, instinct. The actions of animals is predetermined; they are void of conscious choice. Man (at least once he/she reaches the age of reason) does NOT have instinct. We live by volitional consciousness, life and progress by choosing between alternatives. All human life is governed by opposite poles. That dynamic tension between good and evil makes us grow or wither. But it is our choice, one God understood in the creation of existence.

Vonsalza and another poster (Ithink crusaderbear) are spot on. For man to thrive he has to have choices. God DID NOT create evil, although he allows us to choose it.

Shalom
