You have been trying to deny that the Catholic Church has changed the day of worship. I wonder if this will convince you:
**
Who did this “replacement?”**
Dear Protestant101,
Please let me know the texts in the NT where Jesus commands his followers to “remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy”. In looking at what he commands his followers to do, the fourth commandment of the decalogue is noticebly absent, even though Jesus kept the sabbath. The other commandments are not noticebly absent. As a former SDA in the process of joining the Catholic Church, this was perhaps my major obstacle in need of resolution. I have done concordance searches on “seventh day” and “sabbath” in the NT, and it is always interesting to read Jesus’ comments regarding the sabbath to those accusing him of breaking it.
There is no question that the fouth commandment was the sign between God and his chosen people, those led out of Egypt. The sign constantly revealing and teaching and reminding his people that he was their God, the Creator, and they were his people, the created and saved. He commands them to REMEMBER, which is neccessary for many reasons, not the least of which is for a successful covenant.
In the NT I did a concordance search for “remember” and only in one situation did I find Jesus “commanding” his followers to remember, and that was at the last supper when preparing to fulfill the promises and convenants leading up to his act of salvation for mankind on the cross. In the Lord’s Supper he instituted the new “sign” of his new covenant with those he leads out of the bondage of sin and death and into the promised land of eternal life in communion with God (in the Lord’s Supper we receive Jesus’ body, blood, soul, and divinity into our bodies; Jesus receives our bodies into His Body, and all believers become One Body…the church with Jesus as the head). This new covenant is between Jesus, God the Son, who is God the Creator, and the people he creates, re-creates, and saves…not just Jews, but Gentiles, and all who accept the gift of Jesus’ sacrificial offering, and become heirs to the promise (Galatians 3:26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise). The resurrection was the most momentous event in all of human history, the event which makes our salvation possible, certain, sure, and guaranteed! To celebrate that day seems unavoidable for those who believe and enter into the new covenant. Yet Sunday is not the sign of the New Covenant.
The New Covenant:
Hebrews 8:6But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.
7For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8But God found fault with the people and said:
“The time is coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.
9It will not be like the covenant
I made with their forefathers
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.
10This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
13By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
The Sign of The New Covenant:
He said in Matthew 26:26While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
Luke 22:19And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 20In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you
Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
God bless all
