Why Islam denies the crucifixion of Christ

About Muslims needing to prove they are morally superior, that is the foundation of pride I see in Islam.

Pride is the work of the evil one. It is the worst sin.

We can claim nothing Godly of ourselves. We can only claim virtue through faith – in Christ alone.

Morality can only be expressed in a human being, not just in a set of rules, in a book.

Before Christ was crucified, He met Pontius Pilate. Pilate asked who He was.

Christ answered, “I am truth”. That statement Mohammed could not say.

Christ healed, taught, and caused people get their eyes off of constantly condemning their neighbor, thinking they were morally superior…the woman at the well…He let her know He knew she had 5 husbands…or saving the adulteress from stoning…let those who do not sin cast the first stone…

We are to take the plank out of our own eye, and enter the kingdom of Christ that is within…not in political domination or this pharisaical sense of supriority…

Jesus said to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees.

an incredible statement and I would like to know where you got the information to make
such a statement. I also have other unanswered VALID questions.

I beg your pardon and tell you that the idea that it was some other person (and not Jesus) on the cross originated from some of your christian saints. That was introduced into Muslim beliefs. No where in the Quran or hadith, it is suggested that some one else was on the cross. Your people have admitted that it was some gnostic saints who had introduced that idea. The Quran does not support it. Quran says that jesus appeared to be dead. This has been told to you many times. God had accepted Jesus prayer to avoid the cup. So God avoided that cup by some means. Why don’t you agree?

What “christian saints” orginated this idea? There is no such thing as a “gnostic saint”. The Catholic Church would not acknowledge sainthood of someone who denies the very basic tenets of her faith This post makes no sense. And yes, we have been told the Quran says Jesus appeared to be dead many times, just as you have been told many times that the Quran and Muhammad were wrong. Muhammad contradicts the eyewitnesses who were there and saw Jesus die.

Every one standing near the site of Crucifixion had to say that Jesus was dead. Had any one said that he was alive, it would have been a disaster for Jesus. They would have broken his legs too and killed him. Then you know very well that he was not buried properly. he was put in a room and a physician (Nicodemus) had come with a 100 pound weight of medicines to help cure the wounds of Jesus. Aloes was a part of those herbs which is used to cure the wounds. Jesus was seen walking and talking after few days. It is your duty o explain all that. But no one will believe your story.
:
Where is your source for this - that Nicodemus came in with a 100 pound weight of medicines? Why is it our duty to explain all that? We don’t believe a word of any of that! It contradicts previous scriptures!

Muslims do not support any Marcion. We do not even know him.
Again you are adnitting that there were some christians who had the knowledge that Jesus had not died on the cross. Call them what you like. Who originated that idea that Jesus was replaced by some other person (say Judas Iscariot)?. It is not the belief of any Muslim and Muslims did not introduce that idea. So you please take back that idea and keep it to your own faith fellows i.e. christians.

We are saying that Muhammad was influenced by gnostic and heretic Christians. Muhammad did not know or realize that this was not the true Christian belief - that is how the idea made its way into Islam.

Don’t go without chocolate waiting for answers from planten … going that long without chocolate will kill you. Speaking of incredible statements, planten once posted that Leonardo da Vinci wrote The da Vinci Code:
**I believe in Da Vinci Code 100 % because it is the work of a very great genious Leonardo Da Vinci. You may not believe him but I do. So the marriage of Jesus with Mary Magd is a truth and there is no harm in telling the truth.

Needless to say, no comment is need on that post.

There is a hell of a difference in the teachings of Jesus and the words of Paul.
To which I asked the following:
What are the teachings of Jesus? You have said in the past that the Bible had been corrupted by the introduction of ideas such as the Trinity and those of that dastardly Paul of Tarsus. … You have also said in prior posts that Jesus taught “many” good things. If that is true, and the Qur’an is to correct the “corruptions” of prior revelations, where in the Qur’an are the “good teachings” of Jesus such as the Lord’s Prayer and the Sermon on the Mount? If those are “corruptions” also, what do Muslims consider the “good teachings” of Jesus?
It’s been over two months, and I have not yet received an answer from him even though I have reminded him many times. Some of us suspect he has been “planted” here to disrupt discussions about Islam by deflecting questions over to Christianity.

I seriously believe, (IMHO), that the person posting under his profile is not him but someone else.

The posting thought process is different
The writing style is different
The wording is different
The no use of the Crayola color font pattern is missing
The no use of the large fonts is missing

Sorry, I’m not allowed to eat chocolate, and I miss its sweet savory taste. But anyway I sure as the dickens am not holding my breath waiting for an answer to legitimate questions that are posed to Muslims. Needless to say, their mind is closed to the truth. Like other cults they refuse to listen and come up with some ridiculous statements ,
ignore the questions, or switch to another subject. This is a tactic typical of non-
Christian cults. Very, very few Muslims will listen to you, and none are on this thread.
Patience.

Dear Planten,

Please send me a private email and forward me your mailing address. I will send you a Catholic Catechism.

Serious.

Also, do a search on Ss. Perpetua and Felicity, the martyrs. Felicity was married but Perpetua wasn’t. Perpetua was a mystic, and she saw her martyrdom in a dream. She then later wrote a diary up to the time of her death.

You read it and it is like you are there with her.

Like so many early Christians, they didn’t want sex but Jesus Christ, to give their lives totally for Him. And guess what, they were killed for it.

Well if they think they are superior morally, it is obvious that the foundation of good moral is different. For Christian marriage is a covenant made by one woman and one man, for them it’s basically a contract of which anything can be done to a contract, discontinue the contract, make other contracts and so on, even make a contract to children as well. For us lie is sin, for them as long as it gives them advantage is not a sin. For them halal food is avoiding pork, for us it’s not what we eat that save us. For them fasting is to pay for their sins, they enforce them to every muslim and put pride of it, for us fasting is to the advantage of the spiritual growth of the individuals and it’s only a matter between us and God. For them, avoiding alcohol is God’s instruction, for us we can see that everything that is taken excesively is harm and makes us slaves under their influence. The Taliban produces drugs to help them operate, obviously it’s not unpermitted.

Anyway, I don’t see how morally they are superior than Christian. It’s more like a double standard, a cover up for something shallow inside.

We don;t need such bias!

We are not afraid of seeing the truth and speak up for it!

Sorry to say, that will never happen. That was one of my first questions and it was never answed. Please, don’t hold your breath.

Thanks for the advice. I will heed that advice.

  1. I do not agree with that at all. That is the matter under discussion, yet to be proved. So leave that open please.
“Yet to be proved?” It’s been proved beyond a reasonable doubt and believed for 2000 years. The apostles believed it, the disciples of the apostles believed it, the earliest Church Fathers believed it…

“Yet to be proved?” Well, it’s Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, all of whom were contemporaries of Christ, two of whom knew Christ personally during His earthly ministry, one of whom was right there at the cross…versus Mohammad, who came 600 years later, didn’t know Christ at all, wasn’t there when it happened, and is the only real verification for his own account. Right now, the odds aren’t looking good for Mohammad.
Why do you call it vague?
Congratulations on quote mining, because I explained “why” in detail. Thankfully you responded to the rest in another post.
I beg your pardon and tell you that the idea that it was some other person (and not Jesus) on the cross originated from some of your christian saints.
Quote one.
That was introduced into Muslim beliefs. No where in the Quran or hadith, it is suggested that some one else was on the cross.
Then please quote me hadith that outlines what really happened at the crucifixion. Of course, if you do so, you’ll violate the argument you’ve made many times before regarding absolutely positively no use of the hadith sources.

I might also add there is no “added” interpretation of what happened at the crucifixion within Christianity. We all believe that Jesus was crucified, died, buried, and rose again. No Christian denomination agrees with this.
God had accepted Jesus prayer to avoid the cup. So God avoided that cup by some means. Why don’t you agree?
I don’t agree because that is incredibly easy to refute by looking at scripture. I pointed that out in a previous post, which I linked to you. You simply refuse to address the argument, most likely because you realize that how weak an argument it is.
Every one standing near the site of Crucifixion had to say that Jesus was dead. Had any one said that he was alive, it would have been a disaster for Jesus. They would have broken his legs too and killed him.
As I pointed out, they did do something to ensure He was dead: they stabbed him with a spear. You are blatantly ignoring arguments now and simply repeating yourself.
Actually, the only one who has to explain anything is yourself, because your story, once again, is incompatible with scripture as well as knowledge of what happened.

For one, Nicodemus was not a physician, he was a Pharisee (John 3:1) - no where in scripture does it say he was a physician or even hints at that.

And what wounds did Jesus have? He was scourged, which meant that He had strips of flesh torn from His body and He was bleeding profusely. He had a crown of thorns that pierced His face and caused further bleeding. He was mentally and physically exhausted from carrying His cross to Golgotha and being jeered at all the way. He was nailed to the cross, which meant railroad tack-sized nails being driven through his hands and feet, tearing muscle and flesh and causing further blood loss. He was up there for hours, which meant some extended damage. Finally, He was pierced in the side with a spear designed for killing human beings. All this Christ suffered…and we are supposed to believe some “aloes” administered by earthly “physicians” are going to magically cure all this? Not to mention that nowhere is it mentioned Christ is buried improperly: He was wrapped in a tight burial shroud then stuck in pitch dark without food, water, or air for up to 72 hours. Again, we are expected to believe, especially after suffering from all his wounds, that someone would survive this?

This also, once again, ignores what I pointed out before: every single gospel account states that Christ was dead. It doesn’t state He looked dead, or that He fainted…they clearly state He was dead.
Muslims do not support any Marcion. We do not even know him.
Then ask your Muslim apologists to stop citing him as a source of early Christianity. I also sincerely doubt you individually don’t know him - your past history of “not knowing people” has been proven dubious.
Again you are adnitting that there were some christians who had the knowledge that Jesus had not died on the cross.

Are you even reading what I’m saying? Are you sincerely reading what people write to you? I’m suddenly reminded of what quote from the show Frasier where the title character is talking to a man who is clearly not on the same wave length as him. Finally fed up, Frasier looks at a man and asks sweetly, “What color is the sky in your world?”

I did not admit any such thing as you claim. You stated the early Gnostics were Christians, I pointed out that they couldn’t even be considered Jews or Muslims, and that they would find themselves more at homes with the pagans Mohammad fought against than the Muslims who sided with him. You haven’t responded to that, you just keep repeating, “Ha! You said they were Christians,” even though I think everyone on this forum can see that’s clearly not what I said.

“Yet to be proved?” It’s been proved beyond a reasonable doubt and believed for 2000 years. The apostles believed it, the disciples of the apostles believed it, the earliest Church Fathers believed it…
You and I are discussing the death. So leave it open.

"
Yet to be proved?" Well, it’s Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, all of whom were contemporaries of Christ, two of whom knew Christ personally during His earthly ministry, one of whom was right there at the cross

At the place of crucifixion, all disciples had fled (according to bible, not according to Quran). So there was no witness. That John is not the writer of the gospel. If he was a disciple, he would have been arrested. Moreover, it is being said that he was gentile, not a Jew.
Then please quote me hadith that outlines what really happened at the crucifixion. Of course, if you do so, you’ll violate the argument you’ve made many times before regarding absolutely positively no use of the hadith sources.
There is no need to quote any Hadith. The Hadith does not say that Jesus died on the cross. You had asked some questions. I replied. But you do not like the replies. So please do not ask me any more.

I have presented the Quran which is superior to hadith. I never denied the usefulness of Hadith. I had said that there are strict rules about the applications of Hadith and Hadith is to serve the Quran and Sunnah, not to take charge of the Quran and Sunnah.
I might also add there is no “added” interpretation of what happened at the crucifixion within Christianity. We all believe that Jesus was crucified, died, buried, and rose again. No Christian denomination agrees with this
.

There have been christians ho denied the death of Jesus on the cross. You call them gnostics etc. That is your business. I am sure Jesus was not properly buried and no burial rites were performed on Jesus. he was just laid in an airy room like tomb. Some spices were applied on his body:

** John 19:39And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. **
As I pointed out, they did do something to ensure He was dead: they stabbed him with a spear. You are blatantly ignoring arguments now and simply repeating yourself.
When Jesus was brought down from cross, some un-informed foolish soldier stabbed Jesus with a spear on his side. Suddenly, lot of blood and water rushed out of the body. Blood does not sprout (gush) out from a dead body. That means Jesus was alive.
For one, Nicodemus was not a physician, he was a Pharisee (John 3:1) - no where in scripture does it say he was a physician or even hints at that.
If Nicodemus was not a physician then what was he doing with that lot of herbs (medicines)?? I have already shown the verse John 19:35 above about Nicodemus.
This also, once again, ignores what I pointed out before: every single gospel account states that Christ was dead. It doesn’t state He looked dead, or that He fainted…they clearly state He was dead.
That could be arranged to be like that. Jesus was seen talking and walking about with the same old wounded body, after two or three days. He said he had not gone to the Father yet. Then where did he go? If he had died, his soul should have gone to the Father because his body was still in the tomb. Only the soul should have left his body, never to come back.

Should we believe that his soul left his body and remained hanging (howering) about near his body for a few days?? Outside the body?? That is not possible.
Then ask your Muslim apologists to stop citing him as a source of early Christianity. I also sincerely doubt you individually don’t know him - your past history of “not knowing people” has been proven dubious
.

The posters here have admitted that the idea of switching the bodies was hatched by some early christians whom they now call agnostics. We are thankful and relieved to know that it was a christian idea which was fed into the Muslim minds. So thanks again.

:

The idea originated before Islam and MUhammad. So it could not be anything from the Muslims. Part (1/2)
You and I are discussing the death. So leave it open.
You and I are discussing the crucifixion, which yes, does involve His death. I also do not understand “leave it open.” It’s relevant to the topic. If anything, it’s also avoiding the fact that four different sources tell us the same thing regarding the crucifixion, and you simply respond with, “Well I don’t think that’s true.” Once again, it’s Matthew, Mark, Luke and John versus Mohammad.
At the place of crucifixion, all disciples had fled (according to bible, not according to Quran). So there was no witness. That John is not the writer of the gospel.
You had better study the Bible a bit more. It clearly says that the women who had followed Christ for most of his earthly ministry, including His mother, were there (Matt 27:55-56; Mark 15:40-41; Luke 23:49; John 19:25). Most of the gospels also state that there was a large crowd there watching, many of whom, according to Church Tradition, later converted. No witnesses? Only if you ignore scripture.

As for John not being the writer of the gospel, Irenaeus, who was the disciple to John’s disciple Polycarp, and who identified John as the author of that gospel in his Against Heresies, would be alarmed to hear that. As would most of the early Church Fathers who knew the apostles personally, such as Ignatius and Clement. Of course, if you are going to state blankly that it wasn’t John writing the gospel, present some proof for this.
There is no need to quote any Hadith. The Hadith does not say that Jesus died on the cross. You had asked some questions. I replied. But you do not like the replies. So please do not ask me any more.
That is a humorous response. You cited a source to back up your argument. I asked you to quote the work you are citing to verify your claim. You’re now backtracking, saying there’s “no need” to quote any hadith, and telling me “do not ask me any more.” I have nothing wrong with you replying, but I do have a problem when people clearly avoid arguments. Right now, with your backing down on verifying your claims, you’re avoiding arguments.
There have been christians ho denied the death of Jesus on the cross. You call them gnostics etc. That is your business.
The early Church, including the apostle John, called them Gnostics as well. Why do we call them Gnostics? Because they were. Their belief system was Gnosticism, which, once again, is incompatible with Judaism, Christianity, or Islam. They believed in many gods, many little demiurges, and many denied Christ had a physical body. They were formed outside the Church instituted by Christ, and held beliefs contradictory to monotheism. We call a spade a spade. We don’t call a shovel a spade when it suits our argument, like Muslims do in debate.
I am sure Jesus was not properly buried and no burial rites were performed on Jesus.
That’s nice, planten. Now what makes you sure? If all you have is one verse from the Koran, you’re not going to convince anyone to your point of view.
When Jesus was brought down from cross, some un-informed foolish soldier stabbed Jesus with a spear on his side. Suddenly, lot of blood and water rushed out of the body. Blood does not sprout (gush) out from a dead body. That means Jesus was alive.
Jesus was not stabbed after being brought down from the cross - He was stabbed shortly after dying while still on the cross. Read the passages I have provided before. Furthermore, you admit, contradictory to what you said before, that Jesus was not left alone on the cross and that He received further wounds while placed on there. Reread the list I provided of what Christ suffered on the cross and even before then, and then tell me seriously that several jars of ointments could have somehow solved all of it.

Part (2/2)
If Nicodemus was not a physician then what was he doing with that lot of herbs (medicines)?? I have already shown the verse John 19:35 above about Nicodemus.
It wasn’t medicine; it was for his burial and embalming. That was part of the Jewish tradition. King Asa of the Old Testament, for example, was buried with spices in his tomb (2 Chr 16:14) - unless, of course, you think Asa wasn’t actually dead and they were preparing for him to get up. Likewise, you seem to be ignoring the citation I gave which clearly says Nicodemus was a Pharisee, not a physician. The only one in the New Testament ever identified as a physician is the evangelist Luke.

If you had done serious research into Church history and tradition, you would already have answers for these questions. When Christ died, He was sent into the Pit, where all men went after they died, and broke down the gates, preaching to those inside. All those who believed followed Him to Paradise, while others stayed in what became known as hell. On the third day Christ rose again in the Resurrection, which you do not seem to fully understand given your questions about His body and spirit. Christ was resurrected in a spiritually glorified body - He was as He had been before, only now in all His glory.
The posters here have admitted that the idea of switching the bodies was hatched by some early christians whom they now call agnostics. We are thankful and relieved to know that it was a christian idea which was fed into the Muslim minds. So thanks again.
This is an incomprehensible response. I stated that Marcion, who believed God in the Old Testament was an evil demiurge which would contradict Islam, and that it is therefore ironic that Muslim apologists use him as an example of a true follower of God. You’ve gone off on switching bodies.

Incidentally, it’s Gnostics, not agnostics. Those are two entirely different theologies.
The idea originated before Islam and MUhammad. So it could not be anything from the Muslims. There were people who said that Jesus was not on the cross but some one else was caught and put on the cross. Whoever it was who said it was not a Muslim. It could only be some foolish christian. What business the Muslims or the Jews had to suggest such an idea???
You’re once again ignoring the argumentation presented before you - you also seem to contradict your own faith. Islam believes Abraham, Moses, Jesus and others were all Muslims, or true followers of God. Therefore, Christ’s true followers must be Muslims as well. Who then are the true followers? You’re grasping at these heretical sects that believed Jesus didn’t die on the cross, while ignoring their key beliefs and what would affect that belief they held. I was trying to point out that the latter is incompatible with Islam, and therefore the Muslims should not run to those who would be condemned by Mohammad likewise.

Incidentally, I’m also waiting for you to quote one saint of the Church that didn’t believe Christ was crucified.

Byzantine_Wolf, why do you get your hair up in curls with member plant-in ← “get it”?!!

It is futile!

Can you blame me? He’s the only Muslim addressing the issue right now. 😃

Besides I’ve heard the arguments he’s making before. They deserve to be addressed. I’ll allow God to work with those who view this debate, and profit whichever side He truly is on.

👍 Well, then, carry on my good man, carry on!!!

Christ is Lord

islam is false!

Muslims are like everyone else, they mis-interpret their own Holy Book sometimes; and saying Jesus was not crucified is why Islam can never be universal as it is. If we understood what the pre-existent Divine Manifestation is, we would not question His when He re-appears with a New Name, to renew all things…

**Know thou that when the Son of Man yielded up His breath to God, the whole creation wept with a great weeping. By sacrificing Himself, however, a fresh capacity was infused into all created things. Its evidences, as witnessed in all the peoples of the earth, are now manifest before thee. The deepest wisdom which the sages have uttered, the profoundest learning which any mind hath unfolded, the arts which the ablest hands have produced, the influence exerted by the most potent of rulers, are but manifestations of the quickening power released by His transcendent, His all-pervasive, and resplendent Spirit.

We testify that when He came into the world, He shed the splendor of His glory upon all created things. Through Him the leper recovered from the leprosy of perversity and ignorance. Through Him, the unchaste and wayward were healed. Through His power, born of Almighty God, the eyes of the blind were opened, and the soul of the sinner sanctified.

Leprosy may be interpreted as any veil that interveneth between man and the recognition of the Lord, his God. Whoso alloweth himself to be shut out from Him is indeed a leper, who shall not be remembered in the Kingdom of God, the Mighty, the All-Praised. We bear witness that through the power of the Word of God every leper was cleansed, every sickness was healed, every human infirmity was banished. He it is Who purified the world. Blessed is the man who, with a face beaming with light, hath turned towards Him.
( Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 85)**

I am quitting this thread. I give up trying to reason with any muslim who refuses to listen to the truth and reject irrefutable evidence presented. None can be so blind as those who refuse to see and none can be so deaf as those who refuse to hear. These Muslims are so brainwashed that it is almost impossible to penetrate the wall that they have built around them selves,

This is the first time in over fourty years of my presenting the truth of the Gospel of Christ that I have given up. May the Lord bless and strengthen all you who are trying, may the Lord open the muslims eyes and ears, and may the Lord have Mercy on me for quitting.
God Bless.
