Female porn preferences indicate otherwise.I predict there will be girls sexually assaulted by boys who are fed on this particular song.

With respect rap and hip hop are most certainly not my styles, the level of skill in the lyric play, and then to be able to sing them in a quick rhythm and not drop the enunciation of syllables is difficult to say the least. This argument sounds like the argument between every generation with regards to art and culture.Talent has been the way I have tried to steer my children as they were growing up, even if the lifestyle of the talented was lacking, at least the music itself could attract for the sake of music - Santana, Eddie, Jimi, and great vocalists, like Steve Tyler, Freddie Mercury, Roger Daltry.
So far, growing up on quality, musicians like Cardi never were even considered worth listening to.
I’m presuming you haven’t read the lyrics but throughout the song she displays complete agency. At no point is she anything other than a willing participant. There is a not insignificant difference between willingly participating in a sexual act, and an unwanted sexual assault. That you don’t recognise the difference says more about you than it does about the artist in question.Besides, if you teach boys to value women, they will have no use for those who de-value them like this sick woman. It is a tribute to the hypocrisy of the entertainment industry that she is not attacked with all the ferocity of the men who have abused power in sexually harassing women. This woman is as bad as any I have seen. I predict there will be girls sexually assaulted by boys who are fed on this particular song.
I’m not sure if this would be your thing but check out a band called Nightwish, they largely created a style called Symphonic Metal. They take classical style vocals and composition style, they then blend it with a metal style backing track and aesthetic. Their live performance of Ghost Love Score at Wacken 2013 is without doubt the best single performance I’ve ever had the pleasure to be at.I’d play rock and roll, some country and classical to dance around the house.
Ad hominem much? Please do not try and read my mind and insult me for something that is false. Of course I know the difference. I also believe there is a link between sexual assault and viewing women as sex objects, even willing ones. That link is the sin of lust, which is never static, and grows when fed. And I do not buy the line that sexual assault is all about power. There is a reason it is sexual assault. There is a not insignificant difference between willingly participating in a sexual act, and an unwanted sexual assault. That you don’t recognise the difference says more about you than it does about the artist in question.
Same goes for conservative/puritan-type of parents. The amount of friends I have (with religious parents) who found modesty/chastity to be repressive and found that being sexy was liberating…is depressing.Girls/young women are this way often because their mums are this way too.
When mums think it’s empowering, what chance do kids have…
I call it art (since music falls under that category). But bad, terrible art. It’s easier to just take things literally at this point…no more “real men wouldn’t do that” or “she’s not a Catholic if she says this”. Just say bad men, bad Catholics, bad art. It takes the power away from the words. So what if it’s art? We don’t have to respect it.And if you consider her music “art”, that is an opinion, one I do not share. Good product does not need sex to sell.
Cardi has some talent in general, but it’s just a bad song with a bad message. Not the first song and not the last. The only thing I can say in her defense is that there’s definitely a double standard when we’re talking about men/women and them being sexually explicit. But that doesn’t mean the song is empowering imo. With respect rap and hip hop are most certainly not my styles, the level of skill in the lyric play, and then to be able to sing them in a quick rhythm and not drop the enunciation of syllables is difficult to say the least. Hard to say. In Asia, these values are still there…somewhat but it depends on the family. Many of my friends grew up with very puritan parents, Catholic, Muslims and even atheist parents who were really strict with them. They now live in tops that constantly show cleavage (lol). It’s funny, living in Australia you never heard about concepts like modesty or chastity anymore and religion altogether is not discussed and considered bigoted or a social taboo etc.
Is it still taught in other countries?
From a Catholic POV, does it matter? Anyone who tries to be sexy for anyone but their spouse would be committing a sin already, no matter how that looks like. No point in preferring one over the other. I get your point though. I guess it’s sexy to some people, so that’s why people still do things like this. Sometimes it’s done to make a point or for shock, too.Sexy can be about sensuality and dancing like Latin dancing, or singers/actresses like late Whitney Houston or like Monica Belluci etc. Sexy doesn’t have to mean like thrusting your bum up in the air or spreading legs etc.
There used to be a difference between sexy vs stuff belonging at a strip club but it seems not anymore…
