CAF responses make me never want align with the conservative party.

This article from NAACP says quite a bit about lynching of white people:

Nope. But just because Blacks may have faced greater discrimination doesn’t mean Whites didn’t face discrimination. I’m just pointing out this memorial is racist.
Not to mention it was rarely (if ever) racially motivated like it was with black victims.
I’m sure that was of great comfort to the lynched White man. He could rest easy in his grave knowing he wasn’t killed because of his race.

What connection are you trying to make here? I don’t understand. Are you saying CAF is all conservatives? Because I don’t get how that comment came up in this thread.

How is it racist to memorialize the lynchings over centuries of nameless black men? They’ve been forgotten. Who is it racist towards anyways?

Probably not this thread. The thread about white male privilege is the one that did it for me. Some people made it seem as though liberals are the evil seed of this generation.

Who were those poor whites lynched by, pray tell? What it those doggone blacks stringing up those helpless souls? Or was it their snowy brethren that perpetrated these heinous acts?

Seriously. This is obtuse.
Snowy brethren? Wow. Just wow. I’ve never seen openly racist statements on CAF until today.

It should be rather obvious. When you exclude a group based on race that is racist. By excluding Whites who were lynched from the memorial the memorial is racist.

The lynchings of white people probably weren’t racially motivated.

I must assume this is your first day, then. Do you also find the title of Disney’s iconic masterpiece “Snow White” to be racist? Lol.

You dodged the question, BTW. Was it blacks lynching whites, or whites lynching whites?

No!!! I think the idea is to memorialize the the numerous unnamed black people thoroughout American history not to deny white lynchings didn’t happen.

While we’re on it, do you also oppose memorials dedicated to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust? After all, they weren’t the only people Hitler killed, so why do they deserve special mention?

Yep, that is the idea, to be racist. We don’t have in our times memorials specifically to White people. There isn’t a Vietnam memorial to all the White men drafted and killed in Vietnam.

Most white Americans have the blessing of knowing our ethnic subdivisions: you can easily find memorials across the country dedicated to Irish Americans, German Americans, Polish Americans, French Americans, Italian Americans, etc. Most African Americans, on the other hand, were purposefully cut off from their roots as a direct result of slavery.

You do know what party was responsible for the Klan, lynching, Jim Crow and segregation?

Lynchings in the South are a large part of the African American experience.

I shouldn’t have wrote that specifically. I’m not noticing those with or identify as conservative on here tend to deny things like white male privilege, police brutality, and feel that whites are being disproportionately discriminated in this era.
