Why won't non-Catholic Christians recite the Holy Rosary?

There are many in the hierarchy throught Catholic history that have made statements blatantly pairing Christ with Mary for Salvation.
I think an honest appraisal of Catholic Teachings would reveal that any Graces God grants through the intercession of Mary are based on and firmly rooted in Christ Jesus. Her Immaculate Conception, and Assumption are all by the Power of God, and not Her own. She magnifies, and reflects God’s goodness, as a human being who most perfectly aligned Her will with His.

Just as the Moon does not produce light from itself, but reflects the light from the sun, our Lady reflects the Light of the World, Jesus.

On the original topic, there are many Protestants who pray the Rosary. Look for a copy of “Five for Sorrow, Ten for Joy” a book promoting the Rosary and the intercession of our Lady by a Methodist Minister.

Archbishop Strossmeir 1870, “we have made a goddess out of the Virgin Mary”.

“O Mary, gate of Heaven, none shall enter except through thee.” Cardinall Spellman N.Y.

Why do you assume that I am confused or don’t know Catholic beliefs? You don’t know me or have a clue what I know. Did I say anything about the Hail Mary being wrong? My point is in praying to Mary as if expecting her to answer your prayer. It doesn’t work that way, Catholic or not.

You ask, do we incense in our church? We most certainly do. Do we ask the saints to pray with us to God? We most certainly do. The point here is really to pray With not To. I am well aware of your beliefs my friend, don’t sell me short.
So would you pray the Hail Mary Prayer I just gave you or do you find reciting scripture wrong?

You did not answer the question.

Where do you find in any Catholic Prayer or Tradition that we expect the Blessed Mother to answer our prayers without that coming from the power and authority of Christ?

By the way these are statements from men that were clergy in the Church not church Teaching, Scripture, or Tradition.

As to the first quote, I’ll have to see it within the context. I am used to quotes made out of context in attacks against the Catholic Church.

As to the second, I could not be a Chrisitan if I did not believe it. Mary the most favored of all humans, and worthy of great honor, and respect, by giving her fiat, of her own free will did open the way to our salvation, which is Christ Jesus. She is not equal to Jesus, but holds such a lofty and venerable position in history, greater than the Apostles, Moses, Abraham or any of the Patriarchs. Through her fiat, the Incarnation took place, Simion in the Temple told of her unique place at the side of Christ, and how she would suffer seeing what would happen to her only son, who having no guilt took the sins of the world on Himself. The only praise a Catholic, or Orthodox person would find inappropriate to give to Mary for her example and her example as one who completely sought to do the will of God, would be to make her a goddess, on a par with her son.

So what’s the point here then? These hierarchy of the RCC don’t know what their own faith is? You try again…

And that is exactly what one of the Archbishops of the RCC proclaimed was happening in the church as I so noted. Care to respond to it?

Because you openly make the statement that you pray TO Mary. We incorporate Mary and the other saints in our prayers as well but we ask them to pray with us, we do not pray TO them in a direct fashion as if they can answer our prayers on their own merit.

If you ask someone to pray for you than you are speaking to them. Duh??

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished
children of Eve, to thee do we send
up our sighs, mourning and weeping
in this valley, of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us; and
after this our exile show unto us the
blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.
Code:
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God

That we may be made worthy of the
        promises of Christ.
so is there a problem here?

You also did not say why you would not pray the Hail Mary.

First of all, your arrogance and attitude is not appreciated, secondly you seem to have a problem recalling what people say and what they don’t say. I never stated that I wouldn’t pray the Hail Mary.

Why are you getting hostile? I have said nothing arrogant as you state.

I ask a question and never got a straight answer. post #170

I asked you if you would pray the Hail Mary when I did not get a straight answer and still have not received one from you I conjectured that you would not.

So are you going to answer the question?

yes or no

Speaking of Arrogance, your hostile posting of…

I will respond but not in kind to your offputting reply.

I stated that I wanted to see the statement in context. I’ll tell you why…

A frequently used book with poorly researched and misleading statements about the Catholic Church, written by Loraine Boettner, in which he quotes at length from a speech alleged to have been given in 1870 at the First Vatican Council. The speech, attributed to "the scholarly archbishop [who in reality was a bishop and not an archbishop, but why let facts stand in the way?] Boettner claims that the “archbishop” read the New Testament for the first time shortly before he gave the speech. The trouble is that the speech is a well-known forgery. Bishop Strossmeyer did not make that speech, and, in fact, when it was being circulated by a disgruntled former Catholic, the bishop repeatedly and publicly denied that it was his and demanded a retraction by the guilty party.

Many other books written by Anti-Catholics perpetuate this and pther myths as fact.

Well at least you agree with Catholics on that one. The Catholic Church, and Catholics who authentically know and practice the Faith, don’t believe that the prayers directed through the Saints, Angels, or the Blessed Virgin are answered on their own merit, but by the power of Jesus our Lord. If in any way the answer to a petition is granted through the intercession of any Angel, Saint, or the Most Glorious and Ever Virgin Mary, it is because they have been able to interceed for us before the throne of God, and God has granted the petition.

So come on in, the Church founded by Jesus would be happy to add another soul onto the Barque of Peter, and set course for heaven, and her founder, Christ Jesus.

I don’t really expect an answer. Most Anti-Catholics I have met, from professional to lakeys of the professionals don’t answer questions. They simply refer back to their sources, (like the Boettner, or Hislop, who have been disproven time and time again) regroup and attack again. Funny that while they want to tear down the Church, and deny Papal Infallibility, they hold their sources to be far more infallible than the Pope, and Boettner and other’s anti-catholic rants to be as inerrant as the Bible. If Boettner wrote it it must be true… If it comes from Catholic sources we must discount it as a conspiracy to infuse paganism into the world.

They need our prayers. The green scapular is a great place to start.

The Rosary is the prayer of the Gospels

The Prayer of the Rosary is a very powerful prayer, because it is the prayer of the Gospels. We are reminded to “Pray without ceasing”, 1Thessalonians 5:17 and that Jesus himself, “prayed a third time, saying the same thing again”, Matthew 26:44.

The Rosary predates any Protestant religion, with the first clear historical reference to the Rosary, dating back to 1221 and there is evidence that an ancient form of the Rosary existed in the 2nd century of Christianity, prior to the formation of the Bible.

For many centuries, the Rosary has been useful to Christians, to teach and know the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Early Christians had very limited access to the Bible until after the advent of the printing press in 1452, but they had the Rosary.

All Christians could benefit from the Rosary. Catholics, who recite the Rosary regularly, are familiar with the Gospels.
  • ****The purpose of the Rosary is to reflect on the Gospels and on Jesus Christ. ****
  • The Rosary is a devotional prayer that allows us to contemplate on the life of Christ Jesus.
  • ****We grow closer to Jesus Christ in the Rosary, because the Rosary leads us to Jesus. ****
  • The Rosary is 100% Biblical and 100% Christian.
Why won’t non-Catholic Christians recite the Holy Rosary?
nice spin job … but behind it all you said nothing of any substance?

If you ask someone to pray for you than you are speaking to them. Duh??

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
Mary is your life? your sweetness and your hope?, you have just made her your god.
To thee do we cry, poor banished
You cry unto Mary and not God?
children of Eve, to thee do we send
up our sighs, mourning and weeping
in this valley, of tears.
The Lord is not your shepherd? Not your refuge, not your stronhold or strong tower?
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us; and

blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus;

Mary is our life ,our sweetness, and our hope — one among many

For She is the new Eve the only woman beside Eve that was born without sin.

Blessed art thou amongst woman that does mean without sin

Definition-consecrated; sacred; holy; sanctified.
2. worthy of adoration and reverence

Luke 1:42 Under the power of the Holy Spirit Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist spoke these words to Mary.

"Then she (Elizabeth) spoke out with a loud voice “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” (Luke 1:42 New King James version)

As you can note this is the King James version for your benefit.

Eve the first woman was created without sin so if Mary was the most blessed that She was born without sin also. All things are possible with God.

Mary had a hand in making all things new as she bore the Son of God.

We hope for Her intercession with Prayers to our Lord as we hope others on this earth and in heaven send prayers for us to Jesus. The bible tells us to pray for others and if you believe in eternal life and the Saints have that then they to can send prayers for us to our Lord.

We do not pray to Mary as though She was a God for She clearly is not and that is not what the Catholic Church teaches, but as an advocate ( one that pleads the cause of another ; specifically : one that pleads the cause of another before a tribunal or judicial court
2: one that defends or maintains a cause or proposal
3: one that supports or promotes the interests of another

To desire and get are two different things.

I desire alot but The Lord may say no. Remember He answers all prayers but maybe not to your liking.
