Will I go to Hell

And, your prayers will only benefit him if it is God’s will of course. If not, they will probably go to another person (if they even go anywhere, and your God exists)

Does speaking in tongues have anything to do with your decision?

AofG folks are christians but they do not follow the Liturgy. The preacher gives a sermon quoting a passage, and talks on his view of what it means to him. They have Holy Communion once a month. No connfessions, the type which you are accustomed to.
They are fine people and Bible believing christians. However , it takes a great deal serious
thinking before a person makes a leap like this.
I do not judge anyone’s salvation. See Mt.7;1-5

Have you talked this over with your priest? if not, please do.

I know this is not a normal request, but I can’t understand what you mean by this.
I don’t believe, so to me this needs further clarification about what the importance of enthusiasm really is, and why it matters in your decision.

I think you absolutely should quit the CC. And no you won’t be doomed to hell for it. In fact I believe you are instructed to leave it in the bible. Rev18:4 4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Where in that verse of your narrative do you read into it that the CC is being referenced there?

That is some kind of skill to interpret things like you do.

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mk. 16:16)

And may I suggest that if the Church he’s sitting in has no enthusiasm, he should become enthused. 😉

Why do people look to others to lead them? The OP will be happier with people who act in a way that suits him? That sounds good if you’re joining a Scouts group. But choosing a religion based on the personality types of your fellow pew-sitters? That doesn’t sound like a mature way to choose a religion.

And how does the OP know that his fellow pew-sitters aren’t enthused, anyway? Can he read their minds? When they sit quietly and pray before Mass, is he sure that they’re all bored and possibly daydreaming? Maybe they are much more enthused about worshiping God than they are enthused about putting a show on for his Sunday morning entertainment.

I do believe that the spirit of Christ, like a brilliant light is re-ignited in Bahá’u’lláh. It is a different lamp, with a different Name, but the same Light, as promised in Revelation 2:17 & 3:12.
But if you are expecting the body of the Nazarene to descend from the sky, or fixated on a particular lamp, or dawning-place, then you may miss the Light when it shines forth from another Lamp, or dawning-place. We should know the sun no matter what point it arises from, or what name of day it is.

I think he understands that as he has knowledge of the faith…What I thought he was directing it to those who made comments like if he left the CC it would be like walking away from Jesus…They may believe that but don’t lay it on someone else…What a guilt trip to lay on some who desires to find a deeper walk somewhere…We go to church to experience Christ…And part of that contains feeling as they are God given…We feel being bless or feel conviction or drawing of the Holy Spirit…We can feel a desire to want more of Him…You believe Jesus is that wafer in a stand, I feel His presence at church without a wafer and a stand…The Holy Spirit can surely lead use to where we can grow and be planted…We actually have some Catholics along with some from other churches coming …Our church is growing while others in the area are drying up…Part of end times apostasy…

With all charity, I would suggest you be very careful with statements like this. Other posters have gotten in trouble with the moderators for telling people to leave the Catholic Church.

So you’re saying that you can only answer the OP’s question if you think he shouldn’t leave the church? If you can recieve only one point of view what’s the point in posting a question of this nature at all. The OP did post this on the non-Catholic part of the forum. So I’m assumming that he was seaking out answers that Catholics may not agree with.

Richard you’re “implying” a lot more than just leaving the Church when you referenced Revelations.

I am Assembly of God.

I am not the Holy Spirit. I: am not going to tell you what to do. I do not believe in unduly promoting my particular branch of Christianity.

Do what you think God is telling you to do. For some folks it might be to move on, for others it might be to stay where you are. You know that there are Charismatics within the Catholic church.

One word of caution though. We are not perfect by any stretch. At some point in your Christian journey, your particular church is bound to let you down. And that goes for any church.

But no, your eternal destiny in no way depends upon selecting the right segment of Christianity to associate with.

If you were in the church Jesus founded and KNEW this when you were there, it is a serious sin. To be at another church is heresy. You are not at church to be entertained, but to hear the Gospel and receive our Lord as He had told you in the Catholic church. He told you to “Do this in remembrance of me”, not “Do this as a symbol of me.”
Since Luther was a heretic, what is the difference for the Protestant faith? since they followed the heretics of the times of their Reformtaion?

Why do you feel the need to leave the Cathloic Church the Crurch that are Lord started
.Most of the preach in the Assembly Of God are all about money Jim Bakker, Mike Murdick and the other.
Morris Cerullo,just to name a few
