FRANCISPIE, you truly, and I mean TRULY do not know God if you think He exists simply to make you comfortable and happy.

I pray you convert you heart someday. You really need it. 😦

Your comments are the EXACT reason why I hate going to the CC.
Your attitude is Grin and Bear it.
So if a person doesn’t like it or feels empty…too bad so sad.

one word…Indoctrinated!👍
If a doctrine is true, being indoctrinated in that truth is good.

You should seek the truth.

Really folks. I wouldn’t feed the troll.

It is obvious from their posts that A) They are a poorly catechised Catholic, B) Aren’t Catholic at all, and never were. C) Is trolling for a reaction.

More comments like the “cult” one will make their time on here very short I’m sure.

Really folks. I wouldn’t feed the troll.
Surely if this OP was seeking a spiritual oneness with God they would not have an enthusiasm criteria. I am completely enthusiastic with anticipation of the Eucharist each week, yet I doubt anyone at my Church can see it.

I don’t go to church for fleshly/worldly entertainment but I do go for the blessed encounter with God. Seeking and finding enthusiasm in others does not create a spiritual enthusiasm in oneself. What good does the congregations enthusiasm do for you? Can you measure this, if you could what level would you need? I am not trying to be rude but only offer thought provoking questions for your heart. The enthusiasm must come from your heart not the congregations.

Thank You Lord Jesus,
that you have shown me CLEARLY that the Catholic Church is NOT
where you are. For the people in this Cult are truly not serving YOU.

Lord, you know I want to serve you, and I will serve you by realizing YOUR blood covers my sins, and NOT my works.
Thank you Lord for welcoming me into your loving arms into the Assembly of God church!
My God help You

You were directing this at the OP weren’t you?

You gotta be kidding me! We have the truth and the fullness of the faith and you don’t. Simply put, the Catholic church has remained from the beginning for 2,000 years and you haven’t. Protestants are in heresy from following their glorious reformers. We NEVER have changed ANY doctrines in the Catholic church, but you have. The Catholic church and Orthodox churches are the Holiest churches I’ve ever seen. the Catholic church which was founded by Christ is still here guided by the Holy Spirit. THAT is Spiritual enough.
WELL CLEARLY YOU HAVE. Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th like most believe, that was an indoctrination to appeal to celtic converts! During some of those 2,000 years your church unfair and taxed us for confession! Why do you think a protestant (hence, protest) church would have even started? And what makes YOUR church lollier than MY church? I’ve never heard of a protestant pastor molesting a child!

But the main ideas of Catholosism makes it the true church of Christ, I’ll give it that. But don’t think our church is anything less spiritual than yours.

FRANCISPIE , You talk about showing people about Jesus Christ but you know nothing about Jesus, Your talking about eating Meat on friday and dogma and you do not know any thing about being a Cathloic,You need to learn your faith,You can not leard about God if you do not know your faith and jumping to the AofG is just getting you closer to hell,Stop and read your bible and leare what a great faith you have, remember it was Jesus that said I WILL BUILD my CHURCH not churchs

You’re right, I saw their comment on another forum where he “has serious doubts” that God cares about anyone.

I think you’re right.

Don’t feed the trolls…🤷

I very much want to quit the catholic church and become an
Assembly of God member. Am i doomed for hell?

I don’t fit in with the CC, there is no enthusiasm there.
I find it interesting that you went to another thread where a person just converting to the faith shared how wonderful the mass is and how happy they were to be coming into the faith, and apparently found it useful to yourself to try and throw cold water on them.

Instead of seeing the joy and ENTHUSIASM in the OP and in all of the responses that were being given to it, you chose to look at it in a negative light. This may throw some light on why you have issues.

As others have pointed out, the question you posed in this threadcannot be ansered by us here. Now if there are specific issues with beliefs etc that you wish to ask I’m sure that the folks here will try to answer them.
Overall though I would say that you really need to consider getting linked up with a good councilor / Spiritual Director - Someone who could help you work out the best way to proceed that will not endanger your soul.

Peace
James

Hey james
why don’t you Re-Read this thread and see how other CATHOLIC people
threw negative comments at me, made fun of me, and dampened MY enthusiasm
for the Assembly of God church!

As you can see, someone threw the “forgive them father, for they know not what they do”
bible quote at me, like I am a roman soldier or something.

yeah, Jimmy, go re-read the thread and then maybe you will understand why i
responded the way I did.
And besides, I was pretty truthful…I doubt that person will enjoy mass as much in 4 years
as he did today. 52 weeks a year gets pretty old.
👍

Well how exactly do you expect us to treat you? You ask a question and start slandering the faith. If you ask me, you aren’t Catholic at all and just wanted to start a thread that would deliberately make Catholics angry so you could wallow in your pride and demonstrate to non-Catholics that we can be un-charitable. But sometimes a mother has to slap her child on the bottom so they don’t get hurt. Well, we were getting nowhere being nice to you, so we ‘slapped you on the bottom’ for your soul’s sake. But just like the child being slapped, you think we deliberately want to hurt you. You need God badly.

Because you may not be a Roman Soldier, but you act like one.

Friend, it all comes down to how the church’s teachings align with the Bible, the Holy Word of God.
denomination is relatively irrelevant if not completely.
Dont let people fool you by saying their way is the ONLY way as does the Catholic Church and many Protestant faiths.
In the Bible, JESUS is called many things, “the WAY, the TRUTH, the LIFE”. “the cornerstone of our faith”, “the end of the law”, “the head of the church” and He, in His gloriousness, said “all authority on Heaven and earth has been given to me”.
Scripture also denounces many things that many faiths try to ignore. namely when it says not to be lead astray by hollow philosophies and traditions that are man-made. the CCC was not written by any Apostle nor is it “God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16), sadly to say, it is man-made and simply posed as “holy”.
as to what church to attend, look at local church’s websites and see what their “church vision(s)” are/is. and lastly, pray. God will guide you to where you should be with Him. seek His truth in The Bible, and the Bible alone.
God will show you “the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE”.
-With the Love of Christ-

I left the Catholic Church for Pentacost. I am now a nonDenom. You will find that The Body of Christ extends outside the boundries of the Catholic Church. When I read the New Testament and Paul talks about the gifts of the Spirit, walking in the Spirit, praying in the Spirit the words become alive because it is so real to you. Trust God and throw yourself upon Him and He will not lead you astray.
Do not look for acceptance amoung Catholics because to them you have become somewhat of a traitor, encourage them to be more “on fire” for their faith.

**FRANCISPIE
I see much criticism about your personal choice. I know many people, including family memebers that did the same as you’ve proposed. They want to go but they can’t let go. So some participate in both, which is wrong, and others came back. I left the Catholic Church in 89’ but returned in 2006 with my entire family. I left as 1 and came back as 5. We had the rest of our children baptized and lost “good standing” with family. This lack of charity goes both ways you know. My MIL told my wife about a year ago “I know that you’re not going to the Lord’s church, but as long as you’re not part of some pagan religion like Muslims and Catholics”. We laughed about it knowing she really meant it. About 6 months ago my wife was diagnosed with cancer and this happened the same week the family found out about our conversion. Notice I didn’t say changed religions…we converted. Conversion is s deep seated movement conjured up by the Holy Spirit.

I understand the lack of feeling you seem to want. But there are praise worships around. You just haven’t found it. Also, after being away for so long I 've come to realize things I didn’t know or understand while I was Catholic growoing up. But now I get it. What seems like doctrinal changes are really a matter of discipline. If you’re angry you’ll definitely not likely to make a rational/good choice. It sounds like catechesis is missing in your life much like many of us.

Anytime a person has a shift in cult - religion - they experience a major disperity in beliefs. You’ll tear this Catholic faith down to try to justify your move away from it. Ultimately you’ll break from mother church. But she’ll always extend her arms open towards you hoping and waiting for her child to return. We will miss you, but we also have high hopes for your journey. This will certainly be a learning event in your life that I believe if you have enough time left in your life will strengthen your faith and make you a likely stronger Catholic later in your life, like it did me. I’ve always had a deep seated love for God because he has made his presence known to me.

Getting to whether or not you’ll burn in hell depends on whether or not you’ll be saved. No man had any authority to say whether or not you or anyone will burn in hell. Are you taking a chance. I think you already konw the answer to that question. Culpability. Are you culpable? I’m not sure you even know. I didn’t so what makes me think you do. Are you defying God? Probabaly not. But you are seeking to fill a void in your heart with something you don’t believe you can find now in the mass you attend. I understand. My family is fortunate enough to have found a beautiful liturgy. But what really is missing is history…historical references to what the early Christians practiced and why. I also konw that the Catholic Church in union with the Eastern Orthodox Church have always taught the “real presence” in the Eucharist. This is a significant teaching that goes all the way back to Christ, clearly revealed in John 6 and throughout the rest of the text.

Get hold of a Scott Hahn CD and “The Lambs Supper”, a book he wrote some time back. The Catholic Church is experiencing a huge influx of converts to the Catholic Church as a result of protestants, and particularly minister, discovering truth in the Catholic Church. Many non-Catholic Christians compromise truth in areas like abortion, contraception, end of life issues, etc. I struggled for many years trying to figure out where did we get the bible and how do we know which books belong and why. I thought I could depend on human example as the sign of who was right. I discovered otherwise. People are people whereever you go.

Pray, pray and pray. Continue to ask God to show you truth throughout your entire life, if it’s truth you want to know. I would think that any Christian that loves God would want to join his or her will with Gods, not their own. Don’t we want to do God’s will, not ours as we say in the “Lord’s Prayer”. Seek the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. Peace, I hope you find what I discovered. We must all seek out our faith with fear and trembling. I wish you well, but I do hope you discover what I discovered that had such a profound impact in my life that I felt I had no choice but to come home to the Catholic Church, the church Christ instituted and the one that all others seek to influence or even claim. These ecclesial communities as the pope recently mentions subsist in the Church of Christ, represented by the Universal Body of Christ known as the Catholic Church. the one holy catholic and apostolic church. No matter what denomination you choose, in the end you are a member of the Lord’s body, separated may be your choice, but no doubt you are still our brother in Christ. May God grant you the wisdom to know the truth in Christ.

There was an atheist here in the beginning of the year that I was sincere with on my first response to their post. Then others posted sincerely too. Then the OP kept repeating really ridiculous things about God and Heaven and it’s inhabitants and knew that we wouldn’t accept their ‘teaching’. The atheist was clearly trying to ruffle feathers and get to the ‘soft spot’ of all the Christians - not just Catholics - and to prove to everyone who read the thread just how uncharitable and un-Christianlike Christians are. It turned horrible and the poster was eventually banned. I see very little difference between that atheist and the OP here, except for the OP in this thread ‘alleges’ to be Catholic. Would you be on fire if the OP said what he did about your faith? Clearly the OP was not fishing for an honest answer. Let’s say a Catholic started a thread and said these things about your faith, how would you feel? Really. I mean picture someone actually saying these things to you:
Your attitude is Grin and Bear it.
So if a person doesn’t like it or feels empty…too bad so sad.
And there are MANY Catholics who are better Christians
than MANY protestants that is for sure!
Most, if not all protestants, pick and choose and manipulate the
church system to get what they want.
Thank You Lord Jesus,
that you have shown me CLEARLY that protestantism is NOT
where you are. For the people in this Cult are truly not serving YOU.
Lord, you know I want to serve you, and I will serve you by realizing the wonderful gift of Grace you give us - by way of faith and the works that proceed from that gift of faith - will save us from our sins, and NOT simply faith alone.
Thank you Lord for welcoming me into your loving arms into the Catholic church!
why don’t you Re-Read this thread and see how other people
threw negative comments at me, made fun of me, and dampened MY enthusiasm…

bible quote at me, like I am a roman soldier or something. yeah, Jimmy, go re-read the thread and then maybe you will understand why i responded the way I did.
How would you feel if I said these things about your faith? Does this make you want to defend your faith or get even the slightest bit angry at me for saying these things? Do you sense any antagonism here? And then add to this that I don’t care what you have to say about your religion because I’m going to continue in my own way of thinking… BTW, I don’t believe this, I’m just using it as an example.

And then the OP wonders why we got defensive.

Besides, how can you think Catholics consider FRANCISPIE a traitor when he doesn’t even believe Catholic teaching? Oh, and should I direct you to a post they made about seriously doubting that God cares about people? If you want that link, I would be happy to supply it. Which Christian denomination do you think would accept that kind of belief?

All that said, FRANCISPIE does need our prayers. I don’t know what’s going through their mind, as they have contradicted themselves in different forums.

So whether you’re Catholic or not, please pray for them.

Hey james

threw negative comments at me, made fun of me, and dampened MY enthusiasm
for the Assembly of God church!
Fair enough. However, the bad behavior of some on this thread seems a poor excuse to go to another thread and try to dampen anothers happiness and enthusiasm. Sounds a bit like the, “They did it first”, that parents hear.
As you can see, someone threw the “forgive them father, for they know not what they do”
bible quote at me, like I am a roman soldier or something.
yeah, Jimmy, go re-read the thread and then maybe you will understand why i
responded the way I did.
I can only say that if someone offended you here on this thread, it should be kept on this thead. By going to another thread and posting as you did, you crossed the line between asking questions about the faith, and trying to damage anothers faith.
And besides, I was pretty truthful…I doubt that person will enjoy mass as much in 4 years as he did today. 52 weeks a year gets pretty old.
👍
You may indeed have been truthful, but it is also only your opinion. I know many people who go joyfully to Mass EVERY Sunday. Indeed they try to go more often than that.
Joy and enthusiasm begin within. Perhaps you should try to seek out a more Charismatic Parish and see if it helps your enthusiasm.

Peace
James

I take exception to that! I understand where the Mass comes from. It’s my food for the journey, and I love eating 🙂

It’s churches that have glitz, glamour, etc that bore me. You can’t keep that up every week, can you?

WELL CLEARLY YOU HAVE. Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th like most believe, that was an indoctrination to appeal to celtic converts! During some of those 2,000 years your church unfair and taxed us for confession! Why do you think a protestant (hence, protest) church would have even started? And what makes YOUR church lollier than MY church? I’ve never heard of a protestant pastor molesting a child!

But the main ideas of Catholosism makes it the true church of Christ, I’ll give it that. But don’t think our church is anything less spiritual than yours.
I’m not so sure that was to appeal to celtec converts, as much as it was to stomp out the pagan god of the Roman army, who’s name escapes me. Orginally Christmas was January 6th, and it remained so in the Eastern Tradition. Either way, it’s accepted that Christ was born about when we say he was, even if we don’t know an official date.

Regarding “confession taxes”, there was never any such thing. Certainly not vatican approved, if there was ever such an abuse then that would have eventually been delt with. Though yes, due to poor communication of the day it might have take awhile for such abuses to correct.

Regarding molsatation charges, you’re in some very hot water there buddy. I find your comment completely offensive and out of line. I do expect an appology. Here’s an education on what “pastors” have done

ethicsdaily.com/news.php?viewStory=12166
cnn.com/2009/CRIME/01/27/colorado.church.haggard/index.html

Those are just four examples, one can go on. Don’t lull your self into some false sense of security thinking “well that’s those churches, not mine”. It can happen to any church, yours included…

The one thing I agree with you is this, that we have maintained an unbroken apostolic faith for 2,000 years. We have managed to do so despite tragidies like the sex scandle, despite Priestly abuses which did happen (and were eventually addressed once the Vatican became aware) as well as other problems introduced into the Church on earth due to human nature. But we have stood the test of time, and will continue to do so. Just to make it clear, if it wasn’t already. I’m not suggesting that there has never been scandal in the Church, or that everything (outside of Apostolic teachings, which are protected) has been perfect. But I did feel the need to correct your unfair and untrue accusations. I realize you probably grew up hearing about this stuff from everywhere. The world likes to cast the Catholic Church in the most negative light possible. I would ask however, that partiulcarly before you start posting inflamatory posts, you do some research. Thanks
