What about the persecution of Christians and other minorities? They don’t count apparently
I have compassion for all victims of religious persecution, including Christians and Jews but not limited to them.

Tomarin, why don’t you answer Pam’s question???
My feeling is that those penalties in Sharia which are clearly cruel and unusual punishment (chopping off hands, etc.) would not be allowed in the U.S. under current law. As you said, religious freedom is not an absolute right. Likewise you couldn’t get away with murdering someone because he apostasized on the grounds that it was part of your religion. Nor can a Muslim (or a Mormon) have more than one wife.

Sharia Law only applies to Muslims so if the implication is that somehow Muslims will “take over” one way or another and impose it on us that’s just nonsense.

No, it’s not nonsense if sharia law were to become the law of the land and our Constitution were overthrown. You’re just being evasive like all apologists for Islam!

May God help us all and never allow that to happen!

Saudi court mulls verdict to cut defendant’s spine

He caused paralysis to another man during a fight and the victim is insisting that he should suffer the same injury

A court in Saudi Arabia is seeking medical advice on whether it is possible to cut the spinal cord of a man as a punishment after he was indicted of causing paralysis to another man during a fight, a local daily reported on Thursday.

The court in the northwestern province of Tabuk has sent letters to hospitals in the kingdom asking them whether the punishment to cripple the defendant by severing his spine is medically possible, the Arabic language daily Okaz said.

The unidentified defendant hit Abdul Aziz Al Mutairi, another Saudi, with a cleaver during a fight more than two years ago and the trial has been delayed because Mutairi is insisting that his attacker suffer the same injury.

“The General Court in Tabuk has sent several letters to hospitals in and outside the region asking doctors about the possibility of cutting the spinal cord of the defendant after he was indicted of causing paralysis to another man,” it said.

The paper quoted the 22-year-old Mutairi as saying the defendant had confessed in court to hitting him with the cleaver during their fight in Tabuk.

“King Khaled Hospital is of the opinion that it is possible to cut the spinal cord and cause paralysis medically through specialist centres,” he said.

According to the paper, the verdict is pending responses from hospitals to the court’s letters.

I’m not an “apologist” for anything. Sharia Law only applies to Muslims. The Jews and Christians living under Muslim rule always had their own laws drawn up by religious leaders from their own community. So your scenario is fatally flawed.

You are correct - they would not be allowed under US current law.

You didn’t answer my scenario questions

But in my scenario, we have allowed full Sharia courts here in the US to fulfill their Sharia laws **ONLY **for the **muslims **NOT on us.

Their sharia calls for death to the apostate
Their sharia calls for execution to the adulterer
Their sharia calls for chopping off limbs for theft

WE have given them full Sharia Law control to the muslims FOR MUSLIMS only.

Do we watch/allow these hangings/stonings
Do we watch/allow these apostates being killed
Do we watch/alow these thieves getting their limbs cut off

What do WE do because WE have given the islamic muslims here in America full rights to fulfill THEIR sharia.

BTW -
I’m a life long New Jersey girl only to be in NY for a few years and I’ve seen my home state of Jersey go downhill.

Muslims have taken over Jersey City, Union City, Weehawken, parts of North Bergen & Bayone.

And yes, I’ve seen what over cultures have done as well…
In Leonia, Ridgefield Park, Fairview, Cliffside Park, Fort Lee…
It saddens me when I go back home to NJ.

Back to my inquiry…

Oh good, that makes me feel much better. Now I understand about the large number of synagogues and Christian churches in Saudi Arabia and the tremendous freedom those communities enjoy under Islamic rule . . . . .

I live in Jersey City. Muslims haven’t “taken over” Jersey City. They are just one of many ethnic groups there. You really are intolerant.

Facts are facts.

Sick! The whole thing is sick…

Intolerent… perhaps… because you know, muslims are VERY tolerant toward us…

What color is the sky in your world… ???

Very well, you be your way, & I’ll be mine.

Sticks and stones, my dear, sticks and stones. You have no argument so you resort to name-calling.
She isn’t calling you a name mate. Taqqiya is (I believe) a Shia doctrine whereby, if necessary to prevent persecution, a Muslim may lie about their faith.

I know but since Muslims do taqqiya she’s slyly saying I’m a Muslim.

I’ve been accused of being a secret Muslim a number of times on these boards because I stick up for them when people attempt to stereotype them.

Ahh, my mistake.

" But I can distinguish between fanatics and “normal” practitioners of a religion."

I always thought I could too.

I worked for 5 yrs as the exec sec for the pres of a sizable company. He was/is a muslim. I was present at dinners, gatherings, meetings, anything pertaining to the company and it’s clients. I knew his family well, his wife (a protestant) and his children, his sisters and brothers. We all dined together on many occasions.

One morning I came in early and spent a few moments praying my Rosary under my desk in silence—my boss caught me. From then on when I came in I had copies from the koran
on my desk. He then began telling me how being a muslim and being a Catholic was practically the same as “we” believed in the same things.

On 9-11 I was ill when I woke up and as I was walking past the tv to call in I was shocked to see what was happening in NY. When I spoke with my boss I told him how horribly shocked I was to see what was going on in NY and how upset I was. His words?

“Why, you have brought this on yourself with your arrogance.” And he actually chuckled. That night his sister hosted a spur of the moment party for all their friends (muslims) some I had found out later, had been under surveillance for quite sometime.

I worked closely with him and the plant manager (also Lebanese) for 5 yrs and NEVER would have suspected that attitude. I was gone from there within 3 months.

This is attitude of this Muslim businessman is the same as that of the imam starting the monument/mosque—that we brought it on…by the millions of deaths we have caused – Marxist propaganda and anti-Jewish hatred.

I don’t want such evil hatred that has endured for thousands of years from the MIddle East now exist in our country. We have had enough racism and greed…

Our present leadership is in essence telling us to get over it and accept such…it is not America, it is not Christian, it is evil.

I have seen much abuse by legal immigrants at one period of my time, but nothing can be compared to the callousness and narcissism complete lack of sensitivity to our neighbors…

After 9/11, it came out the following year that Muslims rejoiced in the USA finding out about some ideas that it was the Muslims who in fact discovered America…I mean, the downing of the 9/11 towers was a conquest and opened up the door to entitlement…the world is theirs for the picking…ill gotten gain.

We are racist for being alarmed and shocked by these people now called Americans?

We are not really being told to be tolerant. We are really being told to give up our country, our way of life, our traditional beliefs because after all everything that is happening in the world is our fault.

I go to work every day, I take care of my kids, I pay my taxes, I try to serve…just like other people who do their best and want peace and justice. Most Americans are like that and have no intent to take over countries and others’ religions.

I have worked with people for many, many years and one thing we are told over and over again is not to ignore people’s concerns and fears, because usually there is some truth to what they are experiencing.

There was billions of dollars in aid for the Iraqi people. That money was diverted into the hands of a Russian there. He recently died…where did the money go???

God help our country!! God sees all! I pray all that seek God and do good and wish harm of no one may know God’s protection and providence in these times…

There is no way sharia law will ever be allowed to take hold in Australia. In the past we have had problems with muslims, it led to an outcry. For eg, when some innocent lifesavers were bashed up by muslims in Sydney a few years ago, the result was mass protests against them, there was riots on the beach where it happened& basically anyone of middle eastern decent went near cronulla beach, they were targeted. I personally don’t condone the attacks etc, but the protest was needed. There was also a part of Sydney that wanted to open up a large Islamic school, thousand protested and as a result, the school will not be built. Australia doesn’t take things like this lightly. If anything, it’s a good way to keep this idea at bay, if anyone even hinted that oz should become sharia, God help that person
I am an aussie and i dont remember this even as you do i remembered it as a racial issue but you now show it was about Muslims. could you please post for us your source. I ask this because i am a poor reader i read some info of the web i know wiki is not a secure
