World did not end on Sept. 23rd

8:43 here. No sign of the world ending. No angels blowing trumpets, no beasts causing destruction. The world will never end on a predicted day I bet. Jesus told us the end is like a “thief in the night” or something like that: plan for the end, don’t fixate on a specific date as that’s pointless.

And are all the “signs” people say are there, showing the end of the world is “near,” coming from their interpretation of Revelation?

No, the world probably isn’t ending. In the bible Jesus says that only the Father knows when it will end.

If only God knows when the world will end, and if he’s not telling us it, then no mortal human will be able to predict it with any accuracy.

Of Jesus’ quote in Matthew? I’ve heard the most historically accurate is Dewy-Reims but really all translations say virtually the same thing.

Yes. People are falsely using Revelation like a magic 8 ball and ascribing it to future things, rather than to what it belongs, Mass.

Yes. It is based off of complete ignorance of what a book of the Bible is saying. (Though perhaps willful ingorance, too, as they do not want to believe that the Mass is supported in any way)
 
There’s a half-hour left in the day here in the USA Eastern time zone. All that happened today was I went to Mass early in the AM and then on to a big beer party in a park where bands played and 2 of my friends announced their engagement. Now I’m finishing a craft beer someone gave me and watching a rerun of SNL’s post-election episode with “Hillary” singing Leonard Cohen. No world ending here.

Still got a few hours left here. I think I’ll survive but the important thing is that my kitty will survive; that’s what really counts. 🙂

ACDC is playing Jailbreak on retro tv, in between advertisments of stud bulls and lice products for sheep. Spring!

oh and the first human snake bite victim of the season is being rescued. pray for her. snake toxin, always venomous , at this time of year is so strong, her chances of survival are greatly decreased.

So you know that he states not the end of the world but that a sign prophesied in the Book of Revelation will occur. I do not believe it, however, I am wondering if this is what you are saying was plagiarized.
 
The world has not ended just as I predicted. Lol.

Actually, Jimmy Akin talked about this prediction last week on Catholic Answers and put it to rest. Its just a natural phenomenon that occurs on a regular basis. And the last time it happened nothing happened then either.

The sign in the book of revelations was the woman in rev 12 with the crown of 12 stars which we know represents Mary and Israel. The prediction for September 23 is a huge stretch of the imagination. Just because the sun will be passing through Leo and some planets through virgo that this is supposed to represent the virgin Mary with a crown of 12 stars. This is all nonsense. It makes as much sense as the same people who said the solar eclipse was a sign from God even though one occurs each year.

(just woke up in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere with five empty bottles of whisky and no cloths ) Wait a minute…i’m still alive!!! I’m still on this bloody planet!!! Wasn’t the world suppose to end on the 23rd!!! I sold my house. I resigned from a high paying job. I spent all my money at one of trumps casinos. And now i’m homeless with no money. On top of that i just got a call from the buyer saying thanks for the 9 bedroom house and for giving such a cheap bargain.

Thanks for getting my hopes up!!!🤬
