Sometimes I like to listen to awful songs to laugh at how bad they are. I’m sure others do too. This thread is for them; please give anything to so bad it’s funny or so bad it’s sad or some mix of the two that makes you shed dolorous tears while laughing like a lunatic.

My two cents:

“Friday” by Rebecca Black (if there is anyone on planet earth that has not heard it before)

“Chocolate Rain” by artist I don’t know
😃 Do I get a prize? I have never head that song before.

I just remembered Barbie Girl from Aqua. This was one of the troll songs that kids used to play when I was in grammar school to annoy their friends. I just now realized that it is not for kids.

I don’t know the title of the song, but, the girl I carpooled with used to play K-Love in the car and this one song would have a little kid with a squeaky voice reading Scripture in the middle of it. It was so creepy that it was brilliant. It popped into my head at mass yesterday and I couldn’t sing the hymn without leaking a laugh.

“Holding Back the Years,” by Simply Red. It put me off listening to the radio entirely for months and months. I was flabbergasted that reasonable, rational people liked it.

I hate it when “Little Drummer Boy” is used as a hymn during Mass.

Besides the obvious fact that there was no little drummer boy, “pa rum pum pum pum” is hardly a lyric glorifying God.
:rotfl: The one that drives me over the edge is “Lord of the Dance”. I always get the urge to rip out the page from every songbook in the church when I hear it. Songwriter reference is “Shaker Song”.

“Jungle Fever” by The Chalachas, 1971. Horrible, disgusting. All heavy breathing and moaning with a dopey repetitive tune behind it. Yuk, blecch!

A song from the 60’s

“Yummy, yummy, yummy, I’ve got love in my tummy…”

So cheesy…but I loved it way back then.

Jungle Boogie, by Kool and the Gang, was pretty bad too, with that low voiced guy getting all freaky at the end.

THAT... is the worst song I have ever heard. There have even been online petitions BEGGING the charity to stop playing the song on the radio. To date the petitions have been unsuccessful.

Do NOT look for this song on YouTube. You'll be sorry. You'll never get it un-stuck from your head.
Yes! That’s right up there with the Pizza Guy jingle from City Slickers!

 I love that song. 😃

Anything by the Eagles, with special mention to Hotel California. Right up there with Chinese water torture. I imagine life after a lobotomy would feel pretty much the same way.

“Having My Baby” - by Paul Anka

“Havin’ ma bay-bay. Whut a lovely way of saying’ how much ya love me.
Havin’ ma bay-bay. Whut a lovely way of sayin’ yer thinkin’of me”.

Probably did more to promote high school pregnancy than making cars with back seats!

What’s that song from the '70’s that a woman sings “Loving you is easy 'cause you’re beautiful…LaLalalala” and she starts shrieking somewhere in the middle of it? Yeah, that one.

My kids enjoy that jingle!😊

I don’t know - as far as I am concerned listening to Paul Anka isn’t really all that different from wearing a chastity belt. 😃

Loving you, Minnie Riperton. I had to look it up on YouTube to hear it, the shriek got my two cats attention! Reminds me of the howls in the song Take On Me by a-ha.

Take on me, (take on me)
Take me on, (take on me)
I’ll be gone
In a day or two-OOOOOOOOO :bigyikes:

You brought back some others in my mind, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head, Afternoon Delight, Crimson and Clover, Run to Me…

I always kind of liked Crimson and Clover. I turn it up. I had a dog that would howl at the harmonica in Bob Dylan. He really seemed miserable. (I actually like Bob Dylan.)

Minnie Riperton is Maya Rudolph’s mom (from SNL) She died very young, when Maya was just a little girl.
