Would you let a homeless gay drug addict in-law brother stay at your house?

This happens to me when I am very stressed or worrked or overtired. Demons, vampires, all sorts of evil, I will try to pray and the words cannot even come out, it is scary as heck!. Now that I understand the physical reality of it all, I have learned how to wake myself from these episodes.

We have the Church!!!

The Sacraments. We are assured that as long as we are out of grave sin, receiving the Sacraments, living lives of godly acts, that nothing can harm us. We just have to put on the whole armor of God, the Church is where we get the armor!

Yes, those things are crucial to our lives as Christians. But remember, even Jesus himself was tempted by the devil in the desert. He’s out to get us now.

The book of Revelation 12 warns us whats here now.
Revelation 12:
17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus
.

Yes, Satan does battle with the Church. This does not mean Satan sneaks into my room and holds me down.

Yes, Satan tempts people, we have free will to turn our backs on Christ giving into that temptation. We are not helpless little blind mice. We are protected as long as we stay in the shelter of the friendship of Christ.

If you’re in the states, be aware of the concept of constructive possession. People can and have found themselves in a whole lot of legal trouble. The laws are set up so it is very easy to charge anyone in the home, if drugs are found.

It is impossible for them to harm me as long as I remain in a state of Grace. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

This is not just “my idea”, it is what Christ promised!

I remember the priest who was interviewed for the book “The Rite”, that people want to know how to fight off the devil. That if they are told to go stand in the front yard and swing a dead chicken around by the neck, they will do that. When they are told “go to confession and communion and stay in friendship with the Church” they think that is just not enough. Think of that, to think that the Sacraments are not enough. Sad.

Your the first Christian in 20+ years that I’ve encountered to be an untouchable by Satan. I hope one day to be even half as Holy as you. Amazing testimony. Pray for me.

Should you take him in? Absolutely. Even more so than if he were a straight, sober, wealthy, Christian. Sounds like he could use such (minimal) support, and more.

Read Ephesians 6 about the whole armor of God.

Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.
Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.
Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground.
So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace.
In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all [the] flaming arrows of the evil one.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

James 4

So submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you of two minds.

This is taught to us all through Scripture! I’ve yet to find a teaching that says Satan is stronger than the Sacraments.

Don’t want to deal with the drama that accompanies such crowds.

My girlfriends best friend is a lesbian.

Nothing but constant drama out of her and all her gay friends. Constant gossiping about each other, constant breaking up and getting back together, constant fights about someone dating someone else’s ex.

More BS than I care to tolerate in my life.

It hetero relationships I’ve been in/observed you might get that out of one part, with these people, they’re all generally petty, overly emotional, bitter, and suffer from various other self esteem issues and such. It’s just a perfect storm of things I don’t care to deal with in my life.

Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day…
Yes, I know these versus very well. They warn that the attacks will happen, and how to overcome them when they do.

I’ve heard preachers say, if your not under attack, then you might not be living for God, and have no reason for satan to attack you.

When we convert from the pentecostal/charismatic protestant world to Catholicism, it is difficult to unlearn those sorts of prosperity gospel teachings. They really get embedded.

Again, someone can try to attack, but, you will quench EVERY dart with the shield of Faith. We are not to fear.

And, how is someone “might not be living for God?” You are either in a state of Grace or you are not. It is black and white, no guessing, mights, if, maybes.

Besides being on CAF, on the outside world, do you share your faith and tell people about Jesus?

Have I fallen into temptation and committed sins, yep. I then go to Confession and get back in my armor! The attacks cannot harm me when I am under the Grace. Quenched darts. Toothless roaring lion.

That’s a pretty powerful testimony. Guess I’ve never encountered anybody like this ever.

No, but that’s only because after 10 yearrs it seems that he would really be overdue for some sort of (name removed by moderator)atient treatment program. I don’t think there would be much I could do to really help him.

Him being gay really does not factor into the equation.
