Biological definitions are not “Catholic”. If you won’t accept standard scientific nomenclature, you should probably bow out of this discussion at this point.how??? Please use Catholic sources

Other creatures such as apes do not have souls. God physically describes how he molded us and fashioned us from nothing not fashioning from other creaturesOk, Toby. Sorry about the name thing.
If God has no physical image, could it be possible that “in His image” refers to our souls? If so, what difference does our physical appearance make?

Tim
again why should I accept science over God or instead of God??Biological definitions are not “Catholic”. If you won’t accept standard scientific nomenclature, you should probably bow out of this discussion at this point.

Actually that is not true. Other non-human animals don’t have immortal souls, but they do have mortal souls.Other creatures such as apes do not have souls.
Yes, but if God has no image since He is spirit, doesn’t that rule out our physical apperance as the “in His image”?God physically describes how he molded us and fashioned us from nothing not fashioning from other creatures
You shouldn’t and nobody on this thread has suggested that you should. You have used that as a dodge to keep from answering some questions, but that isn’t choice you have been asked to make.again why should I accept science over God or instead of God??
How is it incompatible with Catholicism?nice secular based article. Anything Catholic based???
It doesn’t really help, because it was published in 1859, the same year The Origin of Species appeared. As Pope John Paul II would have recognized, the science of evolutionary biology renders Haydock obsolete with respect to science, although not of coruse with respect to theology.and please don’t refer to me as sir or Mr. My name is Toby or use my nickname. which is Tobinator
maybe the Haydock Bible Commentary will help understand God’s creation as stated in Genesis and God’s image

The Haydock Bible Commentary is not obsolete. Why would anyone believe in meaningless mumbo jumbo of Darwin. Darwin himself didn’t know weather God existed. I am 10000000000000000% sure that God exists. By rejecting the teachings in the Bible you are rejecting God. Just out of curiosity what religion are you?? Have you read the Bible?? Do you reject it? Do you reject God?? The Bible taught us how the world was created. Rejecting that is rejecting GodIt doesn’t really help, because it was published in 1859, the same year The Origin of Species appeared. You do realize that that article does not help your argument, right? Also, why can you cite non-Catholic sources and we can’t?Here is also what Pope Benedict XVI said

Maybe I am just very used to people like Toby coming along and questioning my faith because I am not a creationist, but it is tiring. Yes, he started it but that doesn’t mean that we have to continue it. We shouldn’t be questioning each other’s faith.if he interrogates others, he should be willing to respond to the same.
