Nonsense. Sex is the cherry on top of the sundae. I don’t buy a banana split at Dairy Queen so I can get the maraschino cherry on top. I get it for everything else- the ice cream, bananas, and the feeling of satisfaction it gives me. If we extend this analogy to marriage, sex is the cherry on top and the actual relationship and kids and other, fundamental components of marriage are the “meat” of the marriage (the ice cream, bananas, etc.). A marriage can exist without sex. But it cannot exist without respect, trust and a host of other elements that are required for a stable, healthy, and holy marriage. Sex is only truly needed for child-rearing.
