The National Shrine and Basilica of Our lady of Ransom in Vallarpadam in India is a famous Christian pilgrimage spot. The church is dedicated to Mother Mary who is also called as Vallarpadathamma.

I’m fascinated by the variety and color of the Indian churches. Thanks Rob.
Here’s one of my favorite pilgrimage sites. I go there often. I especially love it in winter when I’ve often been the only one there. Just beautiful and a great place of silence and prayer. Maria Plain, just outside Salzburg.

Josefkirche am Kahlenberg, where Jan Sobieski and his troops prayed before the Battle of Vienna, liberating Vienna from the Turks. An easy walk up the gorgeous Kahlenberg from right outside Vienna. The view of Vienna is spectacular.

Here’s Mariazell Basilica, another Austrian pilgrimage site. Mariazell itself is a beautiful small town.

This is a church in Tainan , southern part of Taiwan, that looks more like a Taoist Temple than a Catholic Church:

Shantivanam, or the Saccidananda Ashram in India, is another place of worship which purposefully looks as Hindu as it does Christian. The Benedictine priests who founded the place were into adopting as much of the local culture as possible in the places where they went to serve as missionaries, in this case India. This kind of cultural appropriation and religious comingling remains a controversial idea for many, but they came to see it as acceptable in keeping with Nostra Aetate, the Vatican II document on non-Christian religions.

@Rob2 I notice that yellow is a very predominate color in these churches in India…secondarily, red. Do these colors have a cultural significance?

Do shrines count? Or am I straying from the thread topic? The shrine of Monte Cassino in southern Indiana is my favorite that I’ve visited. Unfortunately, however, I haven’t been to many shrines.
