The first movie that came to my mind is Lords of the Deep. But it’s not my “least favorite.” It’s just really bad, and therefore, kind of funny!

One movie that was so disappointing to me was The Prestige. I have so much admiration for Nicola Tesla, and my kids and my husband raved about how good this movie was and how much I would love it…and I hated it. I got lost in the plot right near the beginning, and I spent most of the movie (we were watching it at home) asking, “Wait, who is that guy again? Wait, what just happened here?” When everyone else was oohing and ahhing, I was saying, “I don’t get it.”

So I felt really stupid watching The Prestige and I don’t like feeling stupid. I was disappointed that I didn’t like it, and a little mad that I had wasted two hours of my life watching it.

And I will never watch it again, even though my kids and my husband keep saying, “You should watch it again. You’ll understand it if you watch it again. We’ll explain it to you.” I don’t really care. I just hated the movie. IMO, if a movie has to be “explained,” it’s not the right movie for me.

Another movie I really didn’t care for was Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind." The thing with the mashed potatoes was so stupid. And it was a boring movie.

Good thread! Fun to read.

This one was so dumb that it was fun. 😆

Kinda like Spaceballs…which is so hysterically funny cause it’s so dumb.

I’ve only skimmed the thread, but has anyone mentioned the interminable torture, the endless agony, the loss of will to live that is 2001, a Space Odyssey ?
“just what do you think your doing Dave?”

I just saw Black Panther. Visuals were stunning, but the story was disappointing. It did not hang together. The “plot twists” were very predictable. Glad I waited until it came to the $2.50 movie house.

Yes, without naming names I’d say most of the movies listed here that I actually enjoy are in the category I would call “guilty pleasures.” I do not blame anyone who couldn’t stay in the same room with them.

I also like watching the so-awful-it-became-good movie events, though, the ones with the commentators that keep cutting in to point out how awful the movie is. I have a strange sense of humor, though.

I watched the Princess Bride for the first time last year. Everyone was raving on about it and they forced me to watch it. It was an okay movie once you got past the first half. But nothing to write home about.

Also, the Last Jedi was pretty bad. I went back and re-watched it a few days ago and remembered how bad the plot was. Some of it was good (the Kylo and Rey stuff) but a lot of it was just plain bad.
