This is not only NOT church teaching but against it. One is allowed to regulate and space births morally. In fact, morally, one must keep health (both mental and physical), ability to provide and overall spiritual growth in mind.Xantippe, the reason why I cited Pope Pius XI, [Casti Connubi] is because if you are not going to have children until as you and everyone else says “until they are financially ready” then one of two things are going to happen in marriage. One, you are going to practice chastity or two, you are going to use birth control, to quiet concupiscence, which is an inversion of the primary purpose of the conjugal act, which is condemned by the TRUE Catholic church and scripture, read the book of Tobias. NFP is birth control. Any device, method or action that frustrates the procreation of children in the marriage act, is intrinsically evil.
You are one of the least stuck-up people on CAF.Xantippe:

Here’s a quote from Casti Connubii:This is not only NOT church teaching but against it. One is allowed to regulate and space births morally. In fact, morally, one must keep health (both mental and physical), ability to provide and overall spiritual growth in mind.
I’d be the one who would trip over my feet and fall flat on my face.(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
Eeeeeeeeeeeexactly.I have to say that it’s pretty bold of Paul33 to cite Casti Connubii in the same paragraph where he says “NFP is birth control.”
False drama? Just how much do you think it takes to raise a family today? If I cranked out kids willy-nilly I would most certinally need to rely on the charity of others to keep them fed.Lol. Your false drama, does not work. You demonstrate a worldly view of God.
This is a really unhealthy view. I hope you aren’t sharing this with people who don’t know any better. In all charity, please talk to your priest about this so you can have a better understanding of church teachings. You pervert what Pope Pius XI says, He clearly says as long as the primary end is preserved! If you frustrate that end, then you have inverted the primary end and in fact eliminated the primary end to satisfy the secondary end. The teaching of the Catholic church on the marriage act is for the procreation and education of children, this is the only reason for acting upon the marriage act, and when this is done, the secondary consideration is satisfied, automatically.
I have heard others make this same point, and I don’t get it. My mother wanted to buy me a new washer and dryer when I moved into my new house. I didn’t want her to, so I said “no thank you”, explaining that I would prefer to use the money on something else later on down the road. She wasn’t offended in the slightest. I doubt God gets offended if we use the brain he gave us to say this isn’t a good time right now. Who wants to give a gift knowing it is going to cause hardship? No God I believe in. But that is just me. I am agnostic.Children are a gift from God but you have the nerve to tell God when you are ready to except the gift, by your own actions. Wow
