What is wrong with people? Why do these kids think killing their peers is a legitimate action to take? There is a lot of copy-cat murders going on here. It is so sad and heartbreaking. I simply don’t understand it…

A significant portion of our population actually comes from Mexico. Also I do think there is a certain amount of similarities between the cultures in regards to firearms. In other areas we are closer to Canada and Europe.

The reports I saw said the kid today used a shotgun and .38 revolver. So no AR-15 in this mass killing.

Are you implying something that is racist?

To date, there have been 14 school shootings since January 1, with 30 dead and 35 wounded. It’s all stats though until it hits home.
Wasn’t it Stalin who (perhaps apocryphally) said “One man’s death is a tragedy. A million deaths are a statistic.”

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

hese crazy people don’t just come up with it out of nowhere. They see it on TV and they see the notoriety the perps get. The “moment of fame” for someone who otherwise is a nonentity. Consider what you think is important, but one thing we sure ought to be considering is for the media not to make a feeding frenzy out of it every time this kind of thing happens. They just wallow in it, and for days at a time.
That would work well for the NRA.

Sounds very like you are implying guns are needed in the US because of Mexicans presence there making it like Mexico. Much of what the worlds general public knows about US attitudes to Mexico comes from the President.

Which may be why the death toll wasn’t higher. A shotgun fired in an enclosed room full of people is going to do a lot of damage, but 10 people survived - including one young man who was shot in the head.

It’s not much of a consolation to the families of the victims, but in comparison 34 people were shot & 17 died in Parkland.

Not what I was saying, but Mexico is very violent. If they bring that violence with them that isn’t good.

I am heart-broken and I am sending my Thoughts and Prayers. Okay, now I am on my way to the Gun Show to renew my NRA membership, buy the biggest gun I can and pick up some ammo. We’re Making America Great Again! 🇺🇸
Unless the gun you plan to buy you also plan to use in an illegal way, there’s nothing wrong with this.
You owning a gun has nothing to do with the shooting. You being an NRA members more than likely means you won’t murder someone with your gun.

Orlando: AR-15
Las Vegas: AR-15
Sandy Hook: AR-15
San Bernardino: AR-15
Pulse: AR-15
Parkland HS: AR-15
Waffle House: AR-15
Santa Fe High School: AR-15

Only Republicans and gun nuts can’t see the problem.
That’s 8 out of well over 5,000,000 owned. That’s roughly 0.0000016%.
Unless AR15 can jump up are fire by themselves, they are not the problem.

Is that the phrase of the day? Noticed you used that already today!😌

It can be stopped if his father was a responsible gun owner and secured his weapons from his son. He didn’t, he should be held criminally and financially responsible and spend quality time in prison.
Assuming he is convicted, I agree.

That’s all good and well, yet in this scenario, the perp brought guns from home belonging to his Dad.
How can this be avoided? It can’t. Again,it’s not the guns that are the issue it the soul sickness of these individuals.

Good point. I bet every innocent father of a child who was killed would gladly serve time if it meant he could have his kid back. I know I would jump at the chance. Beg for it even.

It puts into perspective what a trivial punishment throwing the book at such a criminally negligent parent would actually be. I would like to see that happen and hope it puts some fear in the minds of gun owners.
