Of course it’s murder. As is refusing food to an elderly person that we are caretaking. The difference, is:Right…so, if you remove a born child from his/her food source and he/she dies, is that murder then? Viability has nothing to do with the whether the unborn child is human or not. In fact, knowing that the child can’t survive on his/her own, I find the parent’s actions really horrific.
Anyone can feed a born child. That burden is not unique to the mother. The father can feed the child. The grandparents can feed the child. Strangers can feed the child. And it will survive.
Only the pregnant woman can continue the pregnancy pre-viability. You cannot extract the fetus, put it in an artificial womb and have it survive. The entire burden is placed on the pregnant woman. If she chooses not to remain pregnant, not to bear that burden, what difference does it make that a vacuum, or a scalpel, or a syringe, or a blow torch is used? The fetus will die, regardless.
