I think some of our non-Christian posters on the islamic topics are forgetting this is a CATHOLIC APOLOGETICS FORUM.
So ??? Catholics are prohibited to show a minimum respect to a religious leader of other faith ? 🤷

St. Mark 7:14-23:

Jesus summoned the crowd again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand. Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out form within are what defile.” When he got home away from the crowd his disciples questioned him about the parable. He said to them, “Are even you likewise without understanding? Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, since it enters not the heart but the stomach and passes out into the latrine?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)** “But what comes out of the man, that is what defiles him. From within the man, from his heart, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. All these evils come from within and they defile.” **

Happen to reflect on this passage today and remembering this thread. From what been known of the respectful Mohammad it is obviously easy to fit him in here

Of course not prohibited - what do you think Catholicism is - Islam?
😉

More importantly though, we are not required to show even a minimum of respect to Satan’s mouthpiece.

We do show respect. We are bringing out all of mohammed’s traits. Those traits that his followers are ashamed of and hide.

I want the world to know mohammed and islam. Unlike muslims who try to censor us.

Woow , you are such a nice Catholic 👍

I can feel your love as Christians claim Jesus (p) taught them . Jesus (p) must be very proud to have you as his follower. Keep spreading your love like this 👍

Some of us believe that mohammed saw Satan. mohammed was always saying that jinns and Satan followed him and his dreams were even troubled with these creatures.

mohammed was afraid of the thing that he claimed he saw. Nowhere in the Bible was anyone afraid of the Angel of the Lord - Gabriel. But, mohammed was afraid. And who was the Prince of Lies? Lucifer, or Satan, was. All he had to do was say he was Gabriel.
And what does islam sanction? deceit, lying and other atrocious behaviors.

The post of St. Mark 7:14-23 was very appropriate since it described mohammed to a tee.

I find it very hard to respect mohammed. In a different place I would be killed because of what I let others know of mohammed. That is mohammed’s legacy - death, chaos and hatred.

mohammed wasn’t a prophet and we have shown you that several times. I know that you probably have to be a muslim or else your own life might be in danger. There are a few others on these threads that have that same problem. That is more of mohammed’s legacy.

his teachings fall flat and have to be forced on others if they find they can no longer believe. And it is very common for muslims to resort to saying ‘you are not a good Catholic/Christian’ - the same old stuff, different day. blah blah blah

Madam, lecture me on my faith when you are no longer an adherent and cheer leader of a cult and ideology with a geo-political doctrine of human slavery, degradation, genocide, ethnic cleansing and absolute indoctrination.

One in nine Christians are living in persecution under shariah laws - your mohammet and his imaginery pagan god’s laws for all time.

You are on this board propagating lies and deceit on behalf of the worst ideology that a human being has ever created. I am in these topics on this board to ensure your lies and deceit are challenged.

Muslim Woman - I find the header in your posts offensive in the extreme. I repeat, one in nine Christians are living in persecution under this allah of yours. There is nothing most gracious or merciful about allah. Islam has never mean peace. Islam’s borders are bloody borders (Marco Polo).

While this persecution of innocents is continuing in this world in allah’s name, while people are being treated as second class (or worse) citizens in their indigenous homelands, while people are being enslaved, all in the name of allah and his mohammet, or mohammet and his allah, I will pay no regard to your sensitivities.

Try and regard this as a little sample of what it is like to be a Christian dhimmi in an islamic country - where under allah’s shariah law you MUST be humiliated. It will be good for you - see I’m a good Catholic after all 😃

Chrisse, editing people’s posts is a form of false witnessing. Please don’t do that.

There is no fighting in Islam to force people to convert.

There is fighting (if an Islamic state exists) to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to embrace Islam–in other words, to ensure that they have the freedom of religion! Islam will fight to establish justice on the earth. I don’t really think that’s “taking over” and it doesn’t mean establishing Shari’ah everywhere, or ever imposing it on anyone who doesn’t want it. But establishing it for those who want it, sure, by freeing minorities from persecution, sure.

Here are some recently reported - and documented - happenings:
In Mogul, Chaldean Christians have been beaten and attacked in their homes. If one of them is seen making the sign of the cross in public, Muslims have beaten them. Christians are not permitted to place a cross in public view. A Chaldean archbishop was attacked and killed by Muslims in northern Iraq not long ago, and Christian homes attacked – all in Muslim majority areas. An Italian Muslim reporter recently converted to Christianity and was baptized. He immediately received a number of death threats and fatwas calling for his death, all from Islamic sources. A man in Afghanistan was put to death not long ago for having converted to Christianity. There are plenty more such happenings that have been documented and archived. These are not fictitious at all; they are real.

The first part of your statement says it well: “There is fighting to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to embrace Islam --”; but the next part betrays a very different understanding: “in other words, to ensure that they have the freedom of religion!”

In light of the actions reported above, the only way that I can make sense of your claim to be acting on behalf of “freedom of religion” is that this phrase means that a person is free to embrace Islam, but nothing else! Those who do not embrace it are obliged to pay a tax, the jyzra, and are forced to accept severe limitations in the practice of their faith - harassment and even physical attacks, with little or no protection from the Muslim authorities. And if they protest, they are attacked again. If they refuse to pay the jyzra, they will be threatened severely, even with death, unless they leave and move elsewhere. [By the way, Chaldean Christians have been in that area for 2000 years, much longer than any Muslim.]

This is not our meaning of “freedom of religion”, which Islamic sources so often cite to justify their position. In effect, using this phrase in this way confuses, blurs, and muddles the discussion. If this is done in good faith, then let the truth emerge: your “freedom of religion” does not at all correspond to our “freedom of religion”. If this equivocation is done deliberately, then there is an element of dishonesty and deception that vitiates the discussion, and there will be no honest and good faith result.

I would hope that this second possibility is not the fact; we have to continue to observe the actions and behavior of Islamic communities who are in the majority in their areas in order to decide. So far, the record is not encouraging. Muslims demand freedom of religion for themseves when in the minority, but so far do not extend that same freedom to others when they are in control. That’s the historical record.

We ask and expect Muslim authorities to grant to those of other faiths the same freedom and tolerance Muslims demand - and receive - from us Western countries. But Muslim authorities, as in Iran and parts of Indonesia, have not and do not do so, no matter what they say to the contrary. So minorities in those countries are not freed from persecution – unless they become Muslim.

Such pressures to become Muslim contradict the original meaning of “freedom of religion”.

muslim woman, please see the distinction between loving your neighbor enough to share the truth with them and hating the dangerous ideology they believe in.
it’s just SOOOOOOO frustrating to understand how muslims can justify many of mohammed’s sick and cruel teachings. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/gaah.gif

While Christians are taught to love people like you they are also taught to reject sin and evil. Unfortunately Mohammad’s teachings and actions which have become the examples of Muslims and there are a billion of you, do constitute sin and evil. That must be rejected - the sin and evil of Mohammad not Muslim people. Jesus himself taught and acted as much.

Thus your statement is still correct only you project it wrongly thinking that people who give Mohammad critical analysis are not loving. No it does not work like that. We know Islam works like that - Mohammad is beyond criticism and if one does there goes his head. That then is an evil teaching, you see.

No, not all apostasy is treason.
Then do you explicitly condemn the killing of people who simply leave Islam and wish to practice another faith?
🤷 Seems to be a matter of ijtihad–the person actually gets a chance to change his mind back again. What’s wrong with that?
Because it puts a limit on God’s mercy! God is ALWAYS ready to forgive us when we repent. If this is supposed to be Allah’s 3 day rule then he is not always merciful or his mercy is limited. If it is not Allah’s rule, then it is man judging another person’s heart which is supposed to be God’s job.

Psalm 136
Thanksgiving to God for His Enduring Mercy
1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
2 Oh, give thanks to the God of gods!
For His mercy endures forever.
3 Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords!
For His mercy endures forever:
What then of those who refuse to open their eyes, and refuse therefore to believe? In their hearts is a disease?
IMO, yes. They should pray to God to open their eyes and lead them to Him.
The Qur’an is certainly a miracle–and also a message. A miracle I can’t even begin to explain (seriously, I’m at a loss for words). I was reading something today about the use of the word “heart” in the Qur’an. Three different words in Arabic have been translated as heart. The first is “qalb” which implies the nature of the heart to keep changing and flipping. In the Qur’an when God talks about faith and diseases of the heart, He uses this word: qalb. Another word is “fu’aad” which implies the emotional power (fire) of the heart. When God talks about the feeling the mother of Moses had when she put him into the river, it says she had a “void in her heart” or something to that effect–and the word “fu’aad” is used. And thirdly, there is “sadr” which is kind of like the chest, where the heart goes. When God describes the whispers of Satan, for instance, into the ‘hearts’ of men, the word “sadr” is used for heart, meaning that Satan whispers into their chests but it is up to the person if he wants to open his heart up to those whispers.
The amazing subtlety of the Qur’an is just one facet of its magnificence. And it is only the people who don’t study it who refuse to acknowledge its miraculous nature.
OK - that’s your opinion. Christians can say the same about the Bible. I personally don’t see anything miraculous about the Quran - it contradicts the peaceful message of Jesus. I find Jesus’ life in its perfection and teachings to be more of an example to emulate than Muhammad. Muslims appear to feel different because they have a notion that “all prophets are sinless”. (There is another thread on this topic.) Therefore, they seem to view all of Muhammad’s actions as acceptable to God when in fact they violate God’s commandments.

And, personally, I don’t see how the “subtlety” of the Quran can show its magnificence. If all the previous scriptures and messages of the prophets were corrupted, then the “last” message should be explicit enough that it cannot be misinterpreted/corrupted into such violence acts as we see the “extremists” doing.

I should also apologize to dolphinlove because this seems to be way off topic from her original post. She asked how we are abusing Muhammad by discussing his life/behaviors. I don’t think that discussing aspects of his life that are chronicled in history as well as in the Quran and ahadith is abuse.
