Do you live in Alberta or have been there to verify that such is not true? Your assertion is in effect calling JimMcCrae a liar.
Nonsense, I’m saying I don’t believe It’s a March for Life sponsored truck and asking for evidence of his statement that associated it with March for Life sponsorship.🙂

It’s hard to tell from Archbishop Smith’s blog post:
I don’t see your confusion…March for Life can not CONTROL what people show…That isn’t CONDONING… what or how.

Exactly what March for Life said:
It is not that they will not do so; they simply cannot because it is beyond their control.
It seems to me that these people are more like protesters than marchers. We don’t know if these people are Catholic or anything.
What in the world??? So only Catholics oppose abortion or should have a say? Think please

AGREED but again this is not what this thread is about. Just a note kids ages from 4 years old are presented with sex education…including Homosexual films / pictures.

Now here is where I differ from you - Sex education is being taught in public schools and much of what is taught starts at a very young age and is slanted toward PPP agendas. I DO believe that those classes should include the Truth… including the whole truth about abortions. Not some watered down desensitized version of the PPP agenda.
I don’t think the “sex education” for four year olds includes graphic images. I know a teacher who is having to teach this stuff, and she tells me that it’s just the giving of proper names to body parts (without pictures) in segregated groups, and then the “don’t touch me” talk.

Which, don’t get me wrong, I still think it’s not the role of the school to give that information, either - I think parents should take the responsibility for teaching their children these things at home, in a way that is appropriate for each particular child.

I don’t know much about the homosexuality stuff - apparently there is a book called “Heather Has Two Mommies” that is supposed to be required reading in Grade 1. I doubt that it’s graphic at all, but again, this isn’t something that I’d consider appropriate for school. This is, again, something for parents to explain to their children as situations arise.

It’s the same images, so presumably they come from the same place. 🙂

Sorry - so the Bishops are boycotting the March for Life because of images that they don’t have?

Somehow, I doubt that.

March for Life DOES NOT provide the images 🙂
March For Life can not control independent Marchers content 🙂

Call March for Life…Don’t believe me 😃
BUT don’t make a statement of fact… if you don’t have evidence. 😛

Who are “independent marchers”? If you join the March for Life, you have to follow their rules, do you not? They would kick you out if you did anything illegal or anything that is against the Church, wouldn’t they? 🤷

When we do pro-life demonstrations here, like the Hike for Life or the October demonstration, the organizers are the ones handing out the t-shirts and signs - you are not allowed to bring your own.

Some Bishops are so far removed from the flock, I have’t seen the last Bishop in my Diocese more than half a dozen times in the past 30 years, now we have a new Bishop playing hide and seek.
Jesus hangs on a Cross of wood, that’s pretty graphic, abortion is real and bloody, lets not call sin a sin any more ? like everything is all rosey in the garden.
Bishops need to get off their throne and go out and meet the people like Jesus did, like Pope John Paul did, …otherwise it’s lip service, and babies are still murdered, and Calvary was bloody, hiding reality from people will not change things, it needs to be told and shown as it is, otherwise it’s a lie…

Who are “independent marchers”?
Have you ever gone to a funeral of a loved one…and saw people there you know didn’t know the person being buried?
Wondering …where did these people come from?

Where do the pro-choice hecklers come from at a March for Life? There are many of them…haven’t you seen them? ].

The ones that sign up DO …or are asked to leave.

Why not stop debating what you clearly are confused with and call March for Life? 🙂

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think “sex education” and “4 year olds” should even appear together in the same paragraph, never mind the same line. I figure we let 4 year olds be 4 year olds and not teach them how to become polarized before they can even do math.

I meant in the context of it being a request by Archbishop Smith. If they’re Catholic, then they should be following the request of the local bishop.

Archbishop Smith (and Bishop Henry I’d assume since he included all Alberta Bishops in his statement) said that he didn’t want it to appear that the Bishops are supporting the display or use of graphic images, which are being carried by people adjacent (or a part of? I’m not really sure) to the March. Basically, people are apparently coming of their own initiative with the graphic images. I don’t know if March for Life has asked people not to bring them or if they are silently condoning it.

As a person that lives in the Archdiocese we’re discussion, I find your assertion insulting. I’ll have you know that Archbishop Smith led a retreat for young people going to World Youth Day a couple weeks ago (I know because I was there). I would also encourage you to look up Nothing More Beautiful, which the Archdiocese has put on for 3 years. Not only that, Archbishop Smith came and celebrated Mass at our little college Chapel at the beginning of Advent. Furthermore, the bishops have marched in the last several (I don’t know how many exactly, but a few at least) Marches for Life and only made the decision not to this year.

After that, you can come back here and explain why you shouldn’t make armchair condemnations of things you obviously don’t have any understanding of.

I’ll remind you too that slandering a bishop without any proof whatsoever is a violation of forum rules. It’s no wonder non-Catholics can’t seem to respect bishops or the Pope, because Catholics are doing a great job at leading the way.

To be fair, in many ways, sex education is a bit of a misnomer for what it describe, which is really something along the lines of “Someone who wants to touch you in these places is doing wrong. You haven’t done anything wrong if this happens to you, and you should tell your parents.”

Please ease up and reread Hawkeye’s post 😦

Yes. Read Post # 171.

Why get ugly at other posters
when it’s clear others have not
experienced what you’re alleging.

March for Life in the USA
does NOT use such imagery in public.

When I debate and make a statement as factual…I will back it up / support my statement:)

I meant in the context of it being a request by Archbishop Smith. If they’re Catholic, then they should be following the request of the local bishop.
We understand that you love and respect your Bishop…I respect that.

How about equal respect for other Bishops who WILL be attending? 🤷

I believe, what some seem to have missed here is: This is a “PERSONAL” boycott by these two Bishops. Meaning… they have not told other Catholics not to attend NOR have they told other Catholics that it’s a sin to have a poster of an aborted baby.

It is THEIR personal objection only.

One simple question: If these Two Bishops were doing the March for Life meaning the organizers ]…do you believe they could control who shows up? Who carries what poster…who heckles?

These Bishops have never condemned the March for Life - why? Because I think, these Bishops understand that THEY themselves couldn’t guarantee what others show.

Bishop Smith asked /requested March for Life for a guarantee to be issued for their attendance - March for Life - Rightfully IMO said it couldn’t guarantee what Bishop Smith asked / requested…

There has been no condemnation by these two Bishops of March for Life.
They have made a Personal Boycott only…and gave a “Personal Opinion” for their reasoning.
