I’m not particularly upset about Mexican racism, though perhaps I should be more than I am. There is one aspect of it that really prevents me from getting too upset about it. It’s tied in closely with Mexicans’ reverence for Our Lady of Guadalupe. Part of her promise was to preserve “La Raza” when it seemed to Mexicans they were all going to die of disease. It gave them hope. My stars! Does nobody know the history of that?
