This prompts a lot of theological speculation. If true and there is only one God, One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Did Jesus go to their planets, live and die for them and create a church? Is there a pope in this alternate universe? Alien Masses? Ordinary Form vs Extraterrestrial Form?
Holy Scripture tells us that there is nothing new under the sun = our solar system - not the rest of all/any solar systems in all the other galaxies in the same universe created by God of the Universe through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I would say that unless soul-beings, (which might exist somewhere in a fraction of a galaxy somewhere in the Universe like we do in our galaxy), come from our earth before the flood they would not be stained by the same stain as the fallen seed of Adam and Eve and therefore might be without sin 🙂

How is it possible to be more spiritually or religiously advanced than those of the Catholic Church, especially considering the fact that free-will is one of the main requirements for having a soul?

Remember -if God is their creator then the devil is also their tempter.
… my dear friend …

… i’m not for the alien thing and don’t like the term " alien " , i think we alienate ourselves from everyone and everything and vice versa — hence the bad connotation to the word " alien " , but if there were other intelligent beings with free will in our cosmos what makes you so sure they would have to have their free will tested or they would fail the test and be in need of redemption ??? it could be they are more advanced spiritually or religiously ??? if u have free will it does not necessarily follow you must abuse it , free will does not = sin , and we only have sin because we acquired the knowledge of good and evil in the fall , otherwise we could not sin even if we made a mistake , i know the loss of much and problems with the mind - and body too , how advanced are humans in reality , not very i think , it was only ok before the fall , we only have the church to try and mend us and ultimately return all to the garden of eden amongst other things , if we had not sinned there would be no church — then we would be truly advanced spiritually and religiously - sinless in paradise , my 2 cents …

… god bless you 👍🙂

Intelligent aliens may be living among the stars and are likely to have souls, a senior Vatican scientist said today.

Scientist Daniel Jackson has also brought forth the theory that those aliens also came to Earth 10,000 years ago and built the pyramids to serve as landing pads for their starships. 😛 😉

After reading your post, I have to agree with most of what you say, except for the part where you say "we only have sin because we acquired the knowledge of good and evil in the fall , otherwise we could not sin even if we made a mistake

That is not completely true because in Terestrial Paradise (garden of Eden), Adam and Eve were given “prenatural endowments”, that is immunity from ignorance, passion, suffering and death, which left them “little lower than the angels” (Psalm 8:6; Hebrews 2:7). Additionally, they were unable to sin on their own… They had to be tempted… Today, we all have an inner desire for sin called concupicence, due to the fall.

So if other intelligent life were to exist, the only way they could be more spiritually advanced would be if they were offered and retained their own prenatural endowments, which would place them within the supernatural order according to our scientific standards… They would appear to us like angels…

Otherwise they would share the same laws of physics and pains of survival that we face.

On the other hand though, it’s also possible that other intelligent life (if it exists) would also have fallen into the trials of temptation and if God allowed it, could have acquired more demonic qualities than we could imagine… Remember that if God had not hailed fire upon sodom and gomorah, there could have been regions of men where rape would replace the common handshake. It all depends on what God allows.

I really don’t know what to think of this…but I did see a really weird youtube clip of an actual politician from PA talking aabout some kind of weird defense kind of theing against huge enemies phsicalkly…this was an actual clip from the house or something not doctored news…and today i saw that the UN has appointed somebody who has something to do with aliens…very weird to say the least…I really don’t know what to make of it. I’ll see if i can find any of them clips…or links.

Here is the link from today i think which is about the UN appointing somebody to greet aliens…I didn’t read it yet.

And I found that weird clip from youtube…i suppose it could be doctored…but who knows…strange days have found us? Listen for the guy to say…due to their huge physical size or something along them lines…weird.

The key word here is “may”. I remember JP the Great answered the same question with an “if” there are other living, intelligent beings beyond earth they too must be evangelized. Then I recalled a debate over the Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew translation of “go out to all the ‘earth’”. Apologists?

I see that the c-span is not c-span…but it must be a spoof from the onion network according to the vulgar commentators below the clip…sorry. But they did a good job at making it appear to be real…and did fool me.🤷

And where is that Loch Ness Monster anyway?
With all the paparazzi who are out and about, these days I’m more of a stay-at-home creature.

Getting back to the main topic, personally, I find the existence of “ET” a bit hard to believe. Just my tuppence worth. :twocents:

First of all, I highly doubt that there are aliens, though that is not to say that there are not demons who live in outer space. However, for there to be intelligent life as we think of it, since God is merciful, would not Christ have to appear, die, and be resurrected upon every planet where there are souls? There is not a feasible way for them to know them to know otherwise about Christ. The specialness of Earth(no, I am not asserting geocentrism) in the Book of Genesis would also clearly undermined. All of this notwithstanding, I love space exploration.

I understand your concearn… But what if, I say what if -God created other people on other plantets who had the same chance Adam and Eve had…? Maybe they were able to withstand the temptations of satan and are therefoere still in a state of “pre-natural” endowment…? They would be considered “supernatural” according to our scientific standards, just like we would -if not for the fall of Adam.

On the other hand, they could have submitted to sin much further than us, thus making them appear more or less demonic - more than we could ever imagine.

IMHO, we are the only intelligent life – sorry if that makes me seem “selfish” to some of the other posters… :o

I agree. I would be more willing to believe that there are bacteria upon other planets than counterparts to human beings.

… my personal opinion is adam and eve had a very good concept of correct and incorrect and a high degree of genius so they would learn quickly when they made a mistake , but they had no knowledge of good and evil - they did not know it existed at all , they knew correct and incorrect but could only gain knowledge of good and evil if they experienced it , this is why they had the apple test , to eat an apple is not a sin and god had to test them whilst not giving them knowledge of good and evil , hence god did the apple test and did not tell them about sin and good and those things , god said if they eat the forbidden apple they will get the knowledge of good and evil , they did and got it as we know , sinless people can and do make mistakes - humans have to make mistakes , it is human to err — how else do we ever learn , it is inevitable that sinless humans in the garden of eden would make mistakes , and some of those mistakes would be objectively sin , but with no knowledge of good and evil it would not be sin - just a mistake to learn from , i’m not saying eden would be sodom and gomorah of course , just that mistakes with humans are inevitable for all eternity , the preternatural gifts were lost for sure , a quite big loss , but the knowledge of good and evil is the heart of the problem in the fall , without this eating that apple would not have been a sin at all …

… god bless you 👍:)

I have some interesting thoughts…

If there are intelligent beings with immortal souls living on other planets:

If the first of their kind were created before Adam and Eve and did not commit original sin would there even be a need for Christ to incarnate on their planet? Its because of original sin that we needed a savior.

If the first of their kind were created *after * Adam and Eve but did not commit original sin on their planet, would they share in our original sin or would they be like Mary, conceived immaculately?

If there is original sin on their planet I wonder if Christ already came to them or has yet to come and is their Holy Book in the process of being revealed to them right at this moment?

Those are interesting questions, LA Girl, which I don’t think we’ll have a definite answer to until some time after we meet one or more alien races, and get to know them well enough to understand their societies, if that ever happens.

A few authors have written speculative fiction raising the same questions.

James Blish wrote a novel (A Case of Conscience) in which a Jesuit priest/scientist investigates an alien race that appears to have no knowledge of God but complete freedom from sin.

CS Lewis wrote stories in which other worlds (Space Trilogy) or other universes (Chronicles of Narnia) had their own salvation histories separate from ours, even if there was some interaction between the worlds.

Madeleine L’Engle in A Wrinkle in Time imagines one universe-wide fight between good and evil taking place on many planets. In her story, Jesus appears to be merely one of many fighters against the darkness, rather than our only hope. He is known, at least by some, on other worlds, from His incarnation on our world. How well He is known is not clear; He is just mentioned in passing.

(I don’t think there are a lot of other stories about Christianity on other worlds but there are a few, including some more by Madeleine L’Engle and Jacek Dukaj).

In the traditions of some ancient cultures (Aztec, Native American tribes, etc) they speak of a “White God” who visited their people. Historians and others who study these cultures actually place the time of these “visitations” at or around the time of Jesus’ Resurrection. Connection?

I personally do not believe this. We, as humans, are the unique creation of God and are made in His image. An alien likely would not be made in His image. I don’t think that any creation that is not made in His image has a soul. Therefore, I do not believe if aliens do exist that they have souls. And quite frankly, I don’t really believe in the existence of aliens to begin with.

"When asked how aliens could be redeemed, Father Funes referred to the Gospel parable of the lost sheep. Aliens, he speculated, could already be redeemed because they could have remained in full friendship with God, while the human race “could be precisely the lost sheep, the sinners that need the shepherd.”

But what if they were sinners like us? Father Funes replied that just as Jesus is believed to have come to save mankind, so he was sure that they, “in some way, would have the chance to enjoy God’s mercy.”

I have my own personal theory that God is going to drive us off the planet, and the method of transit will be quantum teleporting, even now in its infancy. If I consider that Robert Goddard’s liquid fuelled rockets initially flew as high as a telegraph pole (on a good day), and then just 43 years later took men to the moon, then God obviously meant us to develop rocketry.

By the same token I think He expects us to develop Quantum Teleporting to a practical level.

However I’m also a bit of a creationist. If anyone can watch the DVD “Unlocking the Mystery of Life” and then explain how the demonstrated microbiological machinery came about without intelligent (name removed by moderator)ut, they’ve either worked it all out (using their intelligence), or they’ve got more faith in blind chance than I’ve got in God.

That doesn’t mean God can’t create aliens. But when I consider the human record of rape, murder, child abuse, theft, tyranny, war, slavery, sexual abuse, Gulags, concentration camps, religious war, economic exploitation, mass abortion of our very own unborn children, and the fact we can’t even get on with each other, then I wonder why we’re so interested in meeting hypothetical aliens. If they were not fallen, like us for example, yet more advanced, they’d soon work out the safest course of action for them would be to completely destroy us, before we tried to make slaves and dupes out of them.
Thanks for your posts and the laugh. I enjoy your posts and dry wit. Thanks for the open sharing of your personal encounters with God. God bless!
