The thing is Christ told us to do the good, kind, loving works and let the Holy Spirit change the hearts.
I completely agree but participating or supporting the pride of homosexual activity is not the good, kind, loving works we are to do. The good, kind, loving thing to do is pray for them and lead them to Christ, lest their souls continue to be in danger. The thing is Christ told us to do the good, kind, loving works and let the Holy Spirit change the hearts.
This kind of goes back to my original point of lacking explanation.if that were the implication that was drawn.
I don’t think he is implying children become gay by attending but if they are led to believe there is nothing wrong with homosexual activity they may be led to act on it, when normally they would not.Do they think he’s implying children can become gay by going to these parades? They need to communicate that so that he has a chance to clear that up.
That IS the other side of the coin isn’t it. I do my own little bit from time to time, and I think we should encourage others to do the same. Not endorsing sinful behavior and taking advantage of an opportunity to evangelize, that is a fine line isn’t it?Actually, I know Christian groups who organize to go to Pride events, some to simply give away bottles of cold water in the Name of Jesus.
One man I know buys copies of the Gospel of John bound as a single book and gives it away at festivals including pride festivals. He has done this for decades.
While these things are all good and true, and should be done by adult organizations only, it is different than supporting, participating or attending out of curiosity. Something many youth are doing and are being led astray into danger.Let your light so shine before men that they see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
That is what Jesus said.
That is my job description. Light shiner, salter of the earth, doer good deeds, give a cup of cold water in His name, burier of the dead, etc.
The Catechism says:
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
Maybe if we go out of our way to show respect, compassion and sensitivity, when that gay person has questions or when they are at a really dark place, them may remember “St Thus and Such had a group at the Pride fest. They took time just to give away cold water. Maybe they care? I ought to call that place and talk to someone.”
