Why are you asking and stirring up the potOk. Are there any Black Catholics here? What is your take?

Called it! (Not here. In a conversation with a friend.)After they checked 80% of the arrested were local.
I don’t really understand statements like this. Someone points out blatant racism by majority group X against minority group Y then someone else chimes in with “what about racism by group Y against group X?”How come nothing about Whites? Anti-White Racism?
Eloquently stated, factual in nature as proven by what is playing out before our eyes in the U.S., and right here.Whites have never suffered from the same history of discrimination that blacks have suffered from in America, hence, black anti-racist movements are more prominent than their white counterparts. One can’t be a member of a privileged majority then attempt to play down the suffering of minorities and continue to call themselves anti-racist. Pretending that White Americans have experienced the same suffering that Black Americans have and that black anti-racism groups are “divisive” and “of Satan” is insidious and indicative of a desire to put down anti-racist groups, perhaps to defend the status quo and the hegemony of the majority group.
Nice diversion. Terrorism by government officials is ALWAYS as a genre worse than street crime. An East St. Louis gang can’t arrest someone with official sanction.A black man walking the street in Clayton, Mo is a lot less likely to be assaulted or killed by cops than a white man walking the street in East St. Louis is to be assaulted or killed by the gangs. And the former is going to be considerably less fearful than the latter.
To a dead victim, it’s a distinction without difference. Dead is dead.Terrorism by government officials is ALWAYS as a genre worse than street crime.
Since most people arrested are NOT harmed, being arrested is a much better outcome than being murdered by some gang.An East St. Louis gang can’t arrest someone with official sanction.
There is obviously a difference between a street mugging and an official apartheid system. Your comment makes no sense. To a dead victim, it’s a distinction without difference. Dead is dead.
We’re not comparing outcomes here but enforcement and subjugation power.Since most people arrested are NOT harmed, being arrested is a much better outcome than being murdered by some gang.
Ok. Guess we know where you’re coming from.official apartheid system
I truly doubt you know where I’m coming from.Ok. Guess we know where you’re coming from.
