Wow, can’t believe this priest is so bold. I was puzzled why “reproductive services” were targeted. This priest tells it all.
Believe me, I’ve asked this question a million times myself. What would one of the media ASK Mr Obama why the obsession with preventing and aborting pregnancies? I mean what’s in it for him? Most people act in their own self interest and he is one of the most self absorbed human beings I’ve evern encountered. From a political basis the number of people who wouldn’t vote for him if he provided a strong conscious clause (AS HE PROMISED!) seems minimal in comparison to those who will vote against him because he has been so adamant about protecting the “rights” of woman to raise their uterine functions to near godlike status. Politician in general are all about themselves and power. This anti-life position seems so counterproductive from a political point of view.

OTOH I think it was Hannah Arens (sp?) who said ideology is a straitjacket and he is clearly an idealogue.

Remember he promised to run the country on science and not ideology. The man is clearly disingenuous and has no qualms about breaking his word.

He has been caught.

Bishop Nickless addresses HHS mandate

catholicglobe.org/Renee2.23.12b.html
And finally, here it is. Bishop Nickless used to be our pastor a long time ago and he has always been an ardent defender of orthodoxy. This time, he hits the very target; bishops are to TEACH and sanctify the Church. I haven’t heard much along these lines from the others and I pray they are united on this point:
Teachable moment
Bishop Nickless and other church leaders have called this a teachable moment. It is a chance to teach the faithful about why the church is against contraception, why they always have been and why that will never change.
“It goes back to our fundamental understanding of what sexual relations are all about between a husband and wife. There are two purposes – openness to life and the unity they share as husband and wife,” he said. “We cannot separate those as Pope Paul VI said in 1968 when he issued the encyclical (Humanae Vitae) on birth control.”

As a spanish, Obama remembered too much Zapatero, he is too much similar to him.

Tell that to the people who didnt use contraceptives and birth control who had undesirable consequences of their behavior who will never follow church doctrine regardless, like teen pregnacies, adulterous pregnacies,Aids,Vd,herpes,to name a few some people even have died.Agree with churches position on abstinance, but just not being practical on this issue!God made divorce ok in old testment not out moral principal but he knew whats in the heart of man!We create our own happiness or misery inside our own hearts!

Thank you for posting this. It is inspiring and thank heavens for courageous priests and bishops.

I think Obama is such a disaster for this country. I don’t know why his heart is a cold piece of stone and maybe it was his chaotic upbringing. But he is clearly at war with our Church, specifically and ferociiously at war with Catholicism. We must try to stop his evil agenda.

All in your partisan republican imagination. To me its an insult to put Jesus on the republican party ticket, its all a con job.they are the money changers disguised as sheep.Corporations love that this issue is making them more powerful! They have you eating out of their hands. We need to focus on Jesus, not on things that people cannot absolutely answere as fact.!God Bless

Obssesion?Hardly ever hear him talk About it.He took this mandate out of law!Do you watch only what you want to hear? His main obsession is changing tax code so the rich pay more!Create more revenue for things like highways, police, education, and hmm catholic charities, safe bridges.Thats what he talks about most of the time!

We cannot just change the truth because some people will leave the Church if we don’t. I am not sure how you can argue (if I am reading you right) that the Church should change doctrine for people who already don’t follow Church teachings. Those who were doing things like committing adultery and not using contraception, for them I highly, highly doubt they decided to not use it because of Church doctrine. It just doesn’t make sense. And, of course, then where do you stop?

We do not follow God for happiness in this life. We follow Him because we love Him, hopefully more than we love our happiness.

God did not make divorce ok, but Moses allowed it because of the hardness of the Israelites’ hearts. Jesus affirmed that it was not meant to be that way. There is nobody here among us greater than Jesus, so we cannot change it.

Totally confused by your post. What do you mean Jesus is on the Republican party ticket? Nothing said about Jesus or Republicans in my post. Nothing about corporations either. It’s hard to respond, I haven’t a clue what you mean. Please explain thank you

Sadly, I think this is exactly what the progressives have in mind. I think they’d like nothing more than to push religion back into houses of worship and get them out of healthcare (and other corporal acts of mercy). They see it as a proper role for the government, not the individual or private organization.

If Catholic hospitals disappear, it will be a win for the progressive movement.

OBAMA URGES CHURCHES TO GET POLITICAL
Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on a new video by President Barack Obama that was cut to launch his “African Americans for Obama” campaign:
It is hardly newsworthy for President Obama to beckon African Americans to support his presidential campaign, but his clarion call to black churches to get on board represents a break with presidential politics: it is a deliberate challenge to the IRS stricture governing the role of religion in politics.
], President Obama explicitly calls on African Americans to go “to your faith community” to get the word out about his campaign. He even goes so far as to say that “congregation captains” should be organized to accomplish this goal.

This is good news. It means that the IRS harness on the clergy is officially off. Priests can now appoint “congregation captains” who will inform the faithful about attempts by the Obama administration to deny Catholics their First Amendment rights. By formally appealing to their parishioners to mobilize against the Obamacare legislation, priests will be faithfully implementing the president’s new initiative.

Bishops, of course, will be able to seize on this ground-breaking proposal by asking priests, nuns, brothers, school teachers—lay leaders of every cause—to get the word out about the draconian Health and Human Services edict.

In other words, by undoing the IRS muzzle on black ministers, Obama has also made it possible for bishops and priests to organize against his war on Catholics with impunity. The timing is auspicious.

Forcing the Catholic Church and other religious organizations out of health care, education, and charitable work will have enormous social costs for the nation.

The government will assume some, but not all, of those things with less efficiency and at greater cost and less ethics, but the nation will suffer as a result.

And the nation’s burdensome debt load upon future generations will increase to the breaking point.

And religious liberty will be lost.

You said Obama had a prochoice ,procontraceptive obsession. He very seldomly mentions anything about it in speaches. His main focus is tax code. What your saying is what republican pundits whisper to the church congregations to throw gas on a topic full of fire.these people are only interested in political interests and not the church. The catholic church gobbles it up!Where the democrat pundits light matches on the racial fire,Both are wrong. The world actually has more problems and bigger ones than the abortion issue ,although important the catholic churches obsession with this is making it worse not better. You become what you think about. You fear abortions, more abortions happen. You want a vibrant life for everyone you go out and create conditions for a vibrant life! With a vibrant life the focus is on making it better, which makes it better.Mother Theresa when asked about joining a movement to end war,Said no but would join a movement to promote peace! We may disagree on a lot of things Lisa,But nothing wrong with peacefully coexisisting…God bless

I don’t know if Obama has a personal contraceptive obsession. But his pandering to Planned Parenthood and others with a radical sexual liberation agenda by promulgating the HHS mandate certainly gives the idea some credibility.

The U.S. is not suffering from a shortage of contraception. It is suffering from a shortage of responsible behavior. Turning back religious liberty was uncalled for. Forcing Catholic institutions to provide for contraception, sterilization, and abortion inducing drugs, forces them to violate their conscience and to cease to be Catholic, no matter who pays for the products. It is an attack on the Catholic Church and on the free exercise of religion of the entire nation.

A double wow for this one! Catechism 101: We are creatures formed by the Omnipotent God. He created us out of nothing because of His love and desire to bestow upon us an eternal life of happiness in His kingdom. Our happiness can only come from Him and by following His statues. I’m afraid practicality sorely misses the mark here and no way are we to follow our own selfish, sexual, sinful pursuits in violation of all that is good and holy.

Actually, Obama does not necessarily have a contraception obsession. He is simply an adherent of the new religion of “liberal sexualism” which teaches that absolutely anything goes with anyone you want, anytime you want and the government will provide the contraception.
