Just a reminder … post #347 needs some response from you … and, please do go easy on those honeyed words… I try to look out for my keyboard!

Actually, if you look carefully at the condemations in the Old Testment … and Christ’s condemnation for those who look with lust at another, there will be judgment for all those who willingly engage in such a intrinsiclly disordered life style. Maybe it could be viewed that denouncement and discrimination in this life, just isn’t that bad compared with what happens in the next life (Matthew 25 gives a graphic description). Now, Hell is serious punishment for serious failures in upholding the Law of God. And, as you probably guessed, encouraging others to engage in sodomy does not help matters when one is standing before the Whlte Throne.

The statement about, "…gay people being born with their sexual polarity reversed… " really qualifies as a gratitutious assumption in general terms. You see, that really has not been proven, albeit, quite a number have that as a hypothesis that they would like to prove. But, in reality this is of no real consequence!

You see, even if one’s ‘sexual polarity’ was as it should be - we still are responsible for lusting after others (Matt 5:28) and Christ condemns such sinful behavior. Yes, not only are we responsible for our actions in this life - but, in the next, too! And, I think if you look carefully at what the Archbishop told the President is that you can not be immoral, legislate or mandate immorality and encourage others to disregard their rightly-formed conscience with impunity. It really is much easier for most people to face the Last Day knowing that one has addressed these moral issues -and conformed their lives to Christ’s teachings… then to simply ignore all of the warnings and assume all will go well.

It is about the threat of the government in that it is setting up a situation that will hinder the good works of the Church. This has already happened in other countries. I believe that my country is on the brink of this. I know that in England they have already attacked Roman Catholic adoption agencies.

Give your personal agenda a break. Stop attacking the bride of Christ. The ideas that you find unpalatable come down through the Church from the Holy Spirit Himself. You are unwittingly fighting against God. Please pray on this! Please.

Tell you what, I’ll answer your direct question and ignore your rant and if you don’t answer my two direct questions, I’ll put you on my ignore list. I’ve only done that twice and those two are still on my ignore list. I’m serious. So, if you have any sincere desire to continue conversing with me, answer these two questions:

1. When will you forgive the Holy Roman Catholic Church its Medieval scourging itself of homosexual priests?
2. Does my not holding Militant gays as special chafe you?

Now, to answer your direct question. Always is every time. Yes, 17th century gays were treated exactly like the Church treated heretics, blasphemers and witches. Like it or not, and although grim, that’s equality.

Since the CC existed before the NT and wrote the NT inspired by Christ through Divine Providence, we believe the CC is the bridge from man to the Lord. God alone suffices. It is the One Holy Apostolic Church that has fought heresy in every century. We see nothing new. just the same evils polished up and presented with spin.

The Obama campaign is reduced to trying to secure its voters of past. Truth is as we see in the last two-days that is simply not happening.

I think Reginator has made a excellent observation - and, one I have taken to heart. I think I have moved off topic with Jomoco’s various rants … and this is not appropriate for the integrity of this thread.

So, considering how this guy is not intersted in really responding to the posts that have been presented (even if off-topic) I am going to ignore his future posts.

Now the US Bishops have made an effort to get something out for Faithful Citizenship - here is a link: faithfulcitizenship.org/ Hey, Reg, have the Canadian Bishops done something similar for their flock considering what is going on in Canada?

I think the Archdiocese of New York had to give up its adoption agencies because it would not work with same-sex couples in this matter. The name-only ‘Catholic’ Governor was very influential in harming the Church in this and other areas of Church teaching.

Ultimately, it comes down to those of us in the pews focusing on removing from office those who advance intrinisic evil. Now, not to put too fine a point on this, but, it looks like almost every Democarat in the Senate and House is doing just that. The US Senate has repeatedly blokced efforts to stop funding abortions - Majority Leader Reid has them in a lock-step on this matter… and Mormons are susposed to be pro-family. Breaking his strangle hold on such issues as abortion seems like an up-hill fight all of the way.

Let’s hope the US Bishops will be publicly calling out those name-only ‘Catholics’ in high elected office and get this process of murdering the unborn resolved.

BTW, we shouldn’t just ignore sin. The Church isn’t against homosexuals - just homosexual actions. Just like the Church isn’t against alcoholics - just getting drunk. Alcoholics shouldn’t be allowed to get drunk just because they can’t help it when drinking alcohol; alcoholics should just not have any alcohol. In the same way, homosexuals shouldn’t be allowed to act out on their inclinations.

If it has nothing to do with sex, marital consummation, exclusivity, monogamy, etc., then what’s the point? It’s just another legal contract. Lawyers are perfectly capable of handling such matters already.

Perhaps you’re right. As I said before, I’m still on the fence on the question of “leave it to the lawyers” vs. the “let’s apply some of these benefits in a pre-arranged, non-marital, non-sexual civil union status” position.

This is curious … I can understand the Obama Administration not wanting to tangle with this matter - and just leave it alone in the hope that nothing will come of it. But, it would seem like with the election just 13 months away - and being down in the polls - I would think that they would ‘bite the bullet’ and respond (if nothing more than to lie about what they are doing).

I am not familiar with the IRS code on this matter of 501c3 tax exempt status - but, it would seem with the Archbishop challenging Obama’s policies and the USCCB condemiing those who promote abortion and same-sex marriage - virtually all the cards are on the table. Or, am I misreading what is going on?
