And here is the translation direct from the Latin Vulgate itself (Wycliffe Bible):
Seeth means ‘how you see someone’. It doesn’t mean ‘looketh’ as in I ‘looking’ at her hair…
Coveting is breaking the 10th commandment. ‘Lusting’ is being confused with thinking someone is hot or being turned on. That is something else entirely.
When Adam first saw Eve he said a remark that meant ‘finally!’. The Hebrew word is derived from ‘excitement’. He was attracted to her right away. All the other animals were not suitable helpers for Adam.
Adam was attracted to Eve and vice versa. These were the most attractive, healthiest people on earth. God created them after all. The attraction is something that was built into us. God said this was good. He was pleased.
Yes we are. Even when factoring in porn.
If you come here saying that your husband is at work and you caught him going to lunch with another woman and didn’t tell you. That is another story. If the porn has sodomy, incest, or bestiality, then that is another story.
I agree.
God created the woman’s body to be sexually attractive to man. God created ‘sex’ things in all of us and said that it was good. Then adultery and coveting another woman. The two things are not related.
That’s not true. Your allowed to lust if both of you are single. If either is married you can’t ‘lust’. This is why it’s not allowed to watch married people in movies. Or those depicting marriage and especially family stuff. That is not kosher and off the table. Women and women is allowed.
The only time this is forbidden is for family members.
You have this new age view of Christianity that puts men and women as equals. I just follow the early teaching. Read 1 Corinthians 11.
Thanks for uncovering the core problem. We have different versions of Christianity. God made women for mans pleasure. And don’t get me started on early church fathers and other texts’s views on women after the downfall… yikes.
The woman was not made to be respected and worshiped by men. That is called goddess worship, aka early feminism and is outlawed by the church.
Here’s the truth directly from St Paul 1 Corinthians 11. Man was made from God. Woman was made from man (from his rib… fyi: it’s the only bone in the body that grows back). Man was made to serve God, woman was made to serve man. God says this himself that man should not be alone and needs a helper so he created Eve. The woman almost stands outside of religion. She has very little obligations to religion because her role is not to serve God. This is why it’s legal in Islam for a man to marry non Muslims. She has the option however of becoming a bride of God.
This whole men and women equality thing these past 40 years is something very recent to our history. This equality thing that is destroying the world has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. Men and women are equal as children under God.
But to say that women are on some pedestal like goddesses and their souls are special and should be worshiped is age old religious feminism and is a heresy in every way. It’s way pro-choice politicians are ex communicated from the church. The women don’t have this sacred right to stand as goddesses before humanity. That is
not why women were created. And women are sexual animals but I won’t go into those teachings. This should be stuff that you already know.
Not it’s not. It’s the power of this feminist nonsense that is literally destroying society. Just look at the divorce rate.
This is Hinduism, Buddhism, New Age nonsense of the God within. It’s not real Christianity. BTW: Yoga is not allowed. Even Kosher yoga or Catholic yoga is not recommended. Stay away from the inner being stuff. It’s all selfish motivation eastern-ism.
.
It’s not harmful.
This video below will show you the REAL sin of ‘lust’ and what is real harmful. It’s the only video of it’s kind out there that describes the real sin of lust (
violation of the 10th commandment):
