I have little to no idea why Iām so scared to even go to Mass.Dear brother
Why? Catholic means āUniversalā. And there are over 1.1 billion of us spread over the whole earth so we truly are universal![]()

I do believe one needs to have faith in Jesus Christ as your savior, without that your lost as a Christian and any work you do is dead works.Which way is it? Are Catholics saved by works or by Jesus? Is it 50% works 50% Jesus, or a different ratio? Do you get to pick? If you do lots of works, lets tip the scales to 90% works, only a little Jesus is needed then (10%)
Look, I know Luther gets a bad rap. But thatās OK. thatās the way I got it. you really didnāt think I knew luther was going to do that? Jesus was still in charge, because He was still weaning His church and trying to get themselves off their minds (die to self) so they could let go and ascend to divinity so they would be in sync with there spirits, who are.Maybe you ought read what Luther taught about a saving faith. And what he had to say about confession.
This to my mind is like asking whether you can get fruit without a tree. If you have faith (the tree), your faith will naturally produce good works (fruit). There is actually a parable about thisā¦I do believe one needs to have faith in Jesus Christ as your savior, without that your lost as a Christian and any work you do is dead works.![]()

I think this is a pretty good statement, however the whole drive for doing good works really comes from Christ for Christians. The changed (or changing)(sanctification) person naturally acts more and more as Christ did by Christ working through him/her.I do believe one needs to have faith in Jesus Christ as your savior, without that your lost as a Christian and any work you do is dead works.![]()
What are you talking about?? The one liners may be cute to you but they serve no useful purpose for knowledge.+JMJ+
Read on Aquinas
And, of course, read on the Personal Ordinariate for Anglicans
Among other thingsā¦
You said it well.I think this is a pretty good statement, however the whole drive for doing good works really comes from Christ for Christians. The changed (or changing)(sanctification) person naturally acts more and more as Christ did by Christ working through him/her.
In the Anglican church, it has been said before that we cease to live and it is Christ who lives in us.
Why donāt you post ALL that Trent says regarding salvation? It will be very apparent then that it does NOT square with what Scripture says regarding Salvation. Yet another reason why I am an Ex-Catholic.+JMJ+
The Council of Trent, Sixth Session
ON JUSTIFICATION
CANON I.-If any one saith, that man may be justified before God by his own works, whether done through the teaching of human nature, or that of the law, without the grace of God through Jesus Christ; let him be anathema.
CANON II.-If any one saith, that the grace of God, through Jesus Christ, is given only for this, that man may be able more easily to live justly, and to merit eternal life, as if, by free will without grace, he were able to do both, though hardly indeed and with difficulty; let him be anathema.
CANON III.-If any one saith, that without the prevenient inspiration of the Holy Ghost, and without his help, man can believe, hope, love, or be penitent as he ought, so as that the grace of Justification may be bestowed upon him; let him be anathema.
I wonder which Catholicism are you talking about hereā¦
Thank you.You said it well.![]()
The problem I think we have as mortals is our minds want to characterize God. The problem is, the model is only fed by incomplete information unless two or more are intimately connected, in which case the interference patterns between them take on a life of their own and create entire consciousnesses which are capable of generating words to make universes such as ours to play out one possible thoughtās eternal consequences.I do believe one needs to have faith in Jesus Christ as your savior, without that your lost as a Christian and any work you do is dead works.![]()
Where did Godās word come from? Did it just fall out of the sky and bean one of the Apostles on the head?Right again, faith doesnāt tell us any of those things, Godās word revealed to us is the only authority on what to do or avoid.
BY GRACE, THROUGH FAITH,** THEN** WORKSWhich way is it? Are Catholics saved by works or by Jesus? Is it 50% works 50% Jesus, or a different ratio? Do you get to pick? If you do lots of works, lets tip the scales to 90% works, only a little Jesus is needed then (10%)
Truth, truth. Bearing in mind, of course, that oneās good works are only dead to you. They still accomplish good for others. But if they are not done for Godās Kingdom, theyāre useless *for **your *justification.I do believe one needs to have faith in Jesus Christ as your savior, without that your lost as a Christian and any work you do is dead works.![]()
An ex-Catholic to Orthodox I can understand. But Anglican? Why Anglican? I donāt understand how anyone can leave a church that was started by the Apostles for one that was started by a king who wanted a divorce. Why donāt you post ALL that Trent says regarding salvation? It will be very apparent then that it does NOT square with what Scripture says regarding Salvation. Yet another reason why I am an Ex-Catholic.
The one liners are the purest form of communications, equivalent to single words, letters, or imaginations, which carry a message from one aspect of spirit to another in the directions of their named human parts. the words require this structure to exist. What are you talking about?? The one liners may be cute to you but they serve no useful purpose for knowledge.
Nice. If thatās the case, then we must be hooked up and donāt need to write back and forth.Bye,
Iām sorry Iām not understanding a word you say.![]()
When I went to Mass for the very first time I discovered something very scary.I have little to no idea why Iām so scared to even go to Mass.

Welcome to the āmagicā kingdom (copied you there mr disneyWhen I went to Mass for the very first time I discovered something very scary.
This is true worship of God.
And I knew that day that I would become a Catholic and I did and I am the only one in my family.![]()
There are quite a few ex-Catholics here who are abysmally ignorant about the Catholic faith. Despite all the qualifiersSilly me, I thought that 13 years of Catholic education and a completely Catholic and supporting family would have been able to adequately teach me how to be Catholic.
